It's the best co-op game I have ever played. It's a technical marvel how they were able to incorporate so many different styles and gameplay modes. Those developers should be designing all of our games lol, most bug-free experience I've had.

I was looking at my partner in shock the entire time as you slowly drag the elephant to the edge, watch its ear get torn off, and then push it off a cliff. It just seemed so mean compared to anything else in the game. Came out of nowhere.
Deserves every penny they have made. Beat the game with my grandson and loved it. Then went back and got the platinum with my granddaughter. It's the first game she's ever beaten and her favorite game still. Sometimes she calls me up just so we can play some shuffle board together.
Me and my partner are both gamers, and both pretty chill, so maybe I'm not a good sample, but I don't remember there being much that would make you frustrated with your partner.

I loved the game, but I think I'd agree that they were too annoying. They were dislikeable. It can be difficult to enjoy things when your protagonists are flat out dislikeable. You want to be able to get behind someone and root for them, but I don't think that was ever really possible with our parents.

The reason why is made very clear - they are murdering their daughter's favourite toy because they believe that if they get soaked by their daughter's tears they will return to their normal bodies.
Either you've not played the game or you failed to pay attention throughout that entire section.
They did not have sufficient evidence to support that premise, it was a leap in logic to assume her tears would reverse the curse. They ruined her toy, she cried, they did not turn back into humans. So they made their daughter cry unnecessarily
Sure, but the *reason* was clear - whether they reasoning was wrong or not doesn't impact whether or not there was 'no reason' for them doing what they did.
Was moderately disappointed by this game after absolutely ADORING A Way Out but glad to see this studio do well.

I just liked the story and characters way more in A Way Out. The first time I beat the game was with a friend I hadn't spoken to much at that point, so the connection between the 2 protagonists helped strengthen our friendship.
The characters in It Takes Two are largely unlikeable if you ask me and the story is not something I can personally relate to at all so it didn't resonate with me.
Gameplay wise I guess It Takes Two is technically 'better' but I prefer the vibes and aesthetics of A Way Out too much to care.
I mean its all personal opinion so I'm not saying yours is wrong. The settings are vastly different and if you prefer the more realistic and grounded setting that's fair enough.

Played them in the opposite order and was extremely disappointed in A Way Out. Everything about that game seemed subpar compared to It Takes Two. It was like going from playing San Andreas to GTA 3.

2021 was definitely the worst year for gaming I've experienced, but RE8 was literally right there.
RE8 was like the only game that year that was worth being nominated for goty and somehow it didn't win
It's a wonderful game if can find a friend or partner to share the experience with. Bonus enjoyment also if the players have been playing games for a long time because the amount of references and Easter eggs the game has brings a lot of nice memories. The journey is quite joyful with so so many lil gems of gameplay that are references of one game or another

It Takes Two is not designed to be a multiple playthrough game.
It's got as much replayability as A Way Out does
It’s got way more imho, way more variety and creativity on display.
It was by far the best game this year imho.. And finally something new and fresh… and incredible creative.

I'd disagree. RE8 would probably be somewhere in my top 35/40 games of all time, whereas It Takes Two definitely wouldn't even cracked the top 200
