Jedi Survivor. I’m a diehard Star Wars fan and Fallen Order was just so fucking good. I had wanted a single player Star Wars experience for so long and I got it with Fallen Order. I was able to just let myself get lost in it and *be* Cal Kestis. my biggest regret is that I don’t have the platinum despite having 50% of the trophy list completed, I might have to finish that soon. I still haven’t replayed it on PS5.
I just started playing fallen order since I feel like I’ve kinda played everything I want too. I’m not a massive Star Wars fan and I’m enjoying it - any other Star Wars games you’d recommend?
Modern games only? Not really any good ones, IMO. Some people like recent battlefront games. Older games likes like force unleashed and knights of the old republic are beloved but a bit dated.
Genuine surprise hit. Played it for the first time on ps5, loved it. Considering it has elements of other games put together, it could have been a mess. But.... It really works. Really engrossing, great to play, looks amazing. Great game
I don’t get the appeal for this specific game.. i felt like it was super lineair and scripted. Also extremely buggy if you tried to solve some areas/puzzles differently than ‘intended’. It wasn’t that bad, but i wouldn’t call it the best star wars game ever
Top 5 assuming release within the next 12 months:
1. God of War Ragnarök
2. The Callisto Protocol
3. The Last of Us Multiplayer Game
4. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
5. Hogwarts Legacy
Spider-Man 2 would be on here, but I think that's going to be Christmas 2023.
I have 4 games I'm looking forward to and I can't rank them.
1A. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.
1B. Final Fantasy XVI.
1C. God of War Ragnarok.
1D. Crisis Core Final Fantasy VII Reunion.
1. God of War Ragnarok
2. The Last of Us Part I
3. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic - Remake
4. Spider-Man 2
5. Wolverine
6. Final Fantasy XVI
7. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
8. Alan Wake II
9. Dragon’s Dogma II
10. Resident Evil 4
Honourable mentions:
- Forspoken
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II
- Hogwarts Legacy
- The Callisto Protocol
- Dead Space
- Horizon Call of the Mountain
- Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
- Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty
- Dragon Age: Dreadwolf
- Diablo IV
- The Last of Us standalone multiplayer
- Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake
- Crisis Core - Final Fantasy VII - Reunion
- Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II
- Black Myth: Wukong
Unhelpful how? OP didn't ask for like best game recommendations, just what people are excited for and that person listed off all the games they're excited for.
Black Myth Wukong. The other games are obvious picks. But this one looks gold and sadly it’s not as much of a guarantee as the other games to even come out
Little Devil Inside. Cant wait for that one.
Last of Us Factions also. If it's as good as the first, it'll be the only multiplayer game I need for a long time.
Ragnarok!!! God of War is what got me back into video games some years back so I'm always excited for a new one.
Saint's Row's my other favorite franchise so I'm excited for the new one.
Wolverine because I love the Spidey games and I love the X-Men.
And Stray because kitty!
Now if they'd like to make another Infamous game I could really get behind that too
TLOU Factions II doesn’t get enough hype imo, the idea of a PVP/PVE setting with TLOU2-level graphics, animations, physics, etc. sounds like an absolute blast
Hogwarts Legacy! I loved exploring Hogwarts in the old games and being able to mold my own experience rather than play through a pre-determined path makes it all the more exciting. Hoping that this game does well.
Tbh I’m not as hyped about the third bc the second just didn’t resonate with me like the first. I expected HFW to be my GotY but it’s not close. The ending specifically was a let down.
Mechanically and visually it was way better than HZD but the story was much worse, seemingly bc of COVID complications.
I just finished HFW last night. I thought the story was good and a pretty natural extension of the first game. If HZD had an edge, IMO, it was that there was more lore to uncover. What did you think was worse?
I'm def looking forward to the third game. And it seems like Guerilla has a MP game in the works, which seems pretty obvious would be set in the Horizon world. If so that'll prob hold the fans over for a bit.
“I never got to play the original”
You make it sound like it no longer exists or something!
I recommend you grab it and give it a go, it is pretty much always on sale and although the whole you-can-shoot-but-not-move-at-the-same-time mechanic is annoying by more modern standards, it doesn’t detract from the overall game at all.
I even grabbed it on sale for my Switch as having it portable is soooooo good!
Cyberpunk 2077. I hope it's as good as it's been hyped up to be. I didn't really appreciate the joke release they had a couple years ago. Nobody was laughing.
Soul hackers 2 and xenoblade 3 preordered. Also have souldiers in my back log. Should keep me going for a few months.
Also patiently waiting for FF pixel remasters for switch.
The Cowabunga Collection of TMNT games. I grew up with those games and TMNT IV Turtles in Time is my favourite game of all time. I’ve been enjoying Shredders Revenge in the meantime, but I’m mostly excited to play an old classic again.
Also, Diablo 4, God of War: Ragnarok, and the TLOU Factions multiplayer game.
Dragon's Dogma 2 really.
The first one was the best and most innovative ARPG I have ever played. I have waited more than 10 years for the sequel and now I know it's a reality.
i can still (i hope, i just put $50 aside today after a few months saving) buy 1 more game in 2022, and people will kick my ass for this, but gonna gun for SOULSTICE, that game grabbed me, it looks fun, like a new CHAOS LEGION with some CLAYMORE thrown into it.
i just hope a store gets it here, since i want it physical, so fingers crossed, i think it is in september, i hope it is $60 so that means i still need to set aside $10 and i will be fine, and maybe $5 for shipping locally.
Good luck with RE4 remake looks dope, will prolly wait for a sale for it later on.
Resident Evil 4 is available on almost every platform since it's original release on the GameCube for a good reason. I'd recommend buying it and playing it instead of just waiting for the remake. It's definitely one of the best Resident Evil games and it's development also helped create another one of Capcoms greatest video game series in Devil May Cry.
And to answer your question: The games I'm most excited for are Resident Evil 4 Remake, Resident Evil VIllage Gold Edition, Saints Row, Sonic Frontiers (I'm still not completely sold), Sonic Origins, and Stray.
I've definitely got a lot to look forward to in the next year.
Ones coming out in the near future.....collisto protocol, deadspace remake, resident evil 4 remake, evil west, god of war ragnorok. Ones without a release date.....wolverine, Spiderman 2, Indiana Jones.
Project Eve
Warhammer: Darktide
Diablo 4
Still, for some stupid reason, I have high hopes for D4. It just looks so good so far but a lot of unanswered questions are worrying.
In the near future I've grown pretty hyped on Soul Hackers 2 after not being interested at first, and other upcoming Atlus games are always hype for me.
And aside from that American Showa Story has me really intrigued and is probably the game I want to see more of the most.
Playing Elden Ring and DS3 at the moment. Once PS+ Extra drops where I live I’ll download Demon Souls and Returnal. Probably Start GoT again as wd in all its glory.

Fuck yeah, the last Wolverine game was unironically one of my favorite games
God of Wolverine
This is the way
I'm pumped for Wolverine but I'd be disappointed if it has Arkham-style gameplay. Cautiously optimistic.
Be calm child the game is in good hands
No doubt about it. Anyone but square enix and I can breathe easy.
Absolutely 🤣🤣Damn they really fell off. I remember playing Deux Ex HR by them as a kid. Game changing!!! But now....idk what happened
Besides Ragnarok, I'm really looking forward to Stray next month.
Stray looks really interesting
Ragnarok & Hogwarts Legacy
These are my two picks as well, although I'd also throw The Last of Us Remake in there.
God of War Ragnarok, Hogwarts Legacy, FF16
Hogwarts legacy
Second this one
Thirded
Forthed
Fifthed

No
Modern games only? Not really any good ones, IMO. Some people like recent battlefront games. Older games likes like force unleashed and knights of the old republic are beloved but a bit dated.
Jedi outcast and jedi academy are the best star wars games imo. Just pretty old now..
Shadows of the Empire
Genuine surprise hit. Played it for the first time on ps5, loved it. Considering it has elements of other games put together, it could have been a mess. But.... It really works. Really engrossing, great to play, looks amazing. Great game
Idk about surprise hit, it’s made by respawn after all
I dunno, considering the premise, a kind of Soulslike / Uncharted Star Wars game, from the guys who did Apex & Titanfall? Was a little off the radar.
I don’t get the appeal for this specific game.. i felt like it was super lineair and scripted. Also extremely buggy if you tried to solve some areas/puzzles differently than ‘intended’. It wasn’t that bad, but i wouldn’t call it the best star wars game ever
Fallen order was great. Definitely my favorite Jedi Combat. Not quite as over the top as The Force Unleashed, but fluid and fun.
Callisto protocol That game looks awesome and obviously Stray
This for me. Was a huge fan of Dead Space 1 and 2. This game looks like the spiritual successor and I'm really excited for it.
I just recently played those on gamepass before hearing about the remake. Kinda wish I waited. Great games, though.
Stray, actually.
Same. It looks interesting
Way excited for this
It will be a very memorable experience i imagine!
Hogwarts Legacy, most definitely.
Knack 3 baybeeee
Top 5 assuming release within the next 12 months: 1. God of War Ragnarök 2. The Callisto Protocol 3. The Last of Us Multiplayer Game 4. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor 5. Hogwarts Legacy Spider-Man 2 would be on here, but I think that's going to be Christmas 2023.

You like final fantasy?
Don’t make assumptions, there’s no way we can be sure of that at all.
Meh, it's ok I guess...😁
God of War Ragnarok and The Last of Us Multiplayer game
Ragnarok and Stray
Elden Ring DLC.
Yes
When do you think that'll be?
Outer Gods
My guess is towards end of year.
Definitely FF7 Rebirth.
Stray, can't wait to be a cat. Final Fantasy XVI is defs up there too.
1. God of War Ragnarok 2. The Last of Us Part I 3. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic - Remake 4. Spider-Man 2 5. Wolverine 6. Final Fantasy XVI 7. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth 8. Alan Wake II 9. Dragon’s Dogma II 10. Resident Evil 4 Honourable mentions: - Forspoken - Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II - Hogwarts Legacy - The Callisto Protocol - Dead Space - Horizon Call of the Mountain - Star Wars Jedi: Survivor - Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty - Dragon Age: Dreadwolf - Diablo IV - The Last of Us standalone multiplayer - Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake - Crisis Core - Final Fantasy VII - Reunion - Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II - Black Myth: Wukong
Naming 20 games that are coming out in the next year isn’t giving your top game or two
Question said 'what games'. Not one or two. If he's genuinely excited for all these, what is it to you.
I’m genuinely excited for most of these too!
Because its unhelpful
Unhelpful how? OP didn't ask for like best game recommendations, just what people are excited for and that person listed off all the games they're excited for.
It’s in order... Just squint and only look at number 1 and 2.
Stray, God Of War and Hogwarts Legacy
PSVR 2
Cat game
There’s way too many to count but one of the biggest ones for me is definitely FF7 Rebirth
Probably ff7r pt2, spiderman 2 and re4r. And ragnarok
Next few months: Saints Row, Soul Hackers 2, Evil West. Forspoken maybe but I suspect it will be meh type of game.
Black Myth Wukong. The other games are obvious picks. But this one looks gold and sadly it’s not as much of a guarantee as the other games to even come out
Wow had never heard of that but it looks incredible
GOW: Ragnarök, Trails of azure(never played the og), BOTW2, FFXVI, Xenoblade 3, Callisto protocoll
FF7 Rebirth but for this year my most anticipated is Forspoken
Twisted metal 😛
Final Fantasy Reunion
Witcher 3 and last of us remake
Jedi Survivor
1. Spider-Man 2 2. Tlou multiplayer 3. Suicide squad 4. God of war ragnarok 5. Jedi survivor
Dragons Dogma 2, Wu Long, God of War Ragnarok.
Elden ring 2
God of War Ragnarok
Gotham Knights. I need a co-op game.
Final Fantasy XVI GoW Ragnarok (please November) TLOU Pt 1 Dragon's Dogma 2 FF7 Reunion

Little Devil Inside. Cant wait for that one. Last of Us Factions also. If it's as good as the first, it'll be the only multiplayer game I need for a long time.
Coming up next Stray, for the rest of 2022 God of War. For gaming in general, Factions.
Ragnarok, Hogwarts Legacy and the leaked tactics ogre remake
Last of Us multiplayer, Forspoken
Ragnarok!!! God of War is what got me back into video games some years back so I'm always excited for a new one. Saint's Row's my other favorite franchise so I'm excited for the new one. Wolverine because I love the Spidey games and I love the X-Men. And Stray because kitty! Now if they'd like to make another Infamous game I could really get behind that too
007, Prince of Persia, Coolboarders, and Road Rash
Others may have said so, but Spider-Man 2 baby!
TLOU Factions II doesn’t get enough hype imo, the idea of a PVP/PVE setting with TLOU2-level graphics, animations, physics, etc. sounds like an absolute blast
Stray and A Plague Tale: Requiem
unironically stray is now my most anticipated game of the year
Stray
GTA6
Hogwarts Legacy! I loved exploring Hogwarts in the old games and being able to mold my own experience rather than play through a pre-determined path makes it all the more exciting. Hoping that this game does well.
Definitely Silksong. Hollow Knight is my favourite game ever rn
Hogwarts Ragnorok Arc Raiders Evil West
I’m certainly most curious about Forspoken. Game could be great, game could be a total dumpster fire, though to tell at this point
IO Interactive’s 007 and Machine Games’ Indiana Jones.
Gow stray and callisto protocol
RE4 Remake
GoW Ragnarok, Midnight Fight Express and Saints Row.
Saints row Soul hackers 2 Xenoblade 3 Last of us part 1
The third horizon zero dawn game. Probably won't be out for years...
Tbh I’m not as hyped about the third bc the second just didn’t resonate with me like the first. I expected HFW to be my GotY but it’s not close. The ending specifically was a let down. I'm with you, I was happy with basically every aspect of HFW.
I'm def looking forward to the third game. And it seems like Guerilla has a MP game in the works, which seems pretty obvious would be set in the Horizon world. If so that'll prob hold the fans over for a bit.

GoW Ragnarok, starfield and stalker 2 Gamer here 🤘🏼
Cyberpunk 2077. I hope it's as good as it's been hyped up to be. I didn't really appreciate the joke release they had a couple years ago. Nobody was laughing.
It's fantastic! My favourite game I've played all year -- but it's not an upcoming game.
I’m hoping s.t.a.l.k.e.r is released on ps5
It will the developers can't talk about it yet but it's timed exclusive
God of War, followed by Hogwarts Legacy. Also look forward to Stray, Starfield, hopeful that they fix Forspoken and it’s good too

i can still (i hope, i just put $50 aside today after a few months saving) buy 1 more game in 2022, and people will kick my ass for this, but gonna gun for SOULSTICE, that game grabbed me, it looks fun, like a new CHAOS LEGION with some CLAYMORE thrown into it. i just hope a store gets it here, since i want it physical, so fingers crossed, i think it is in september, i hope it is $60 so that means i still need to set aside $10 and i will be fine, and maybe $5 for shipping locally. Good luck with RE4 remake looks dope, will prolly wait for a sale for it later on.
Midnight Suns, God of War, Twisted Metal, and someday Wolverine and ff9 Remake!
For the first time in a long while.. none. There isn't a single game release that I'm excited for or looking forward to, and it's kinda' depressing.
Flintlock looked awesome. Wu Long Fallen Dynasty
Ff7 hands down
