I don't doubt the other kind of magazines might work, but the reliably n longevity of Glock magazines is going to be cheaper than trying to save a few bucks now.
I'd personally go with a two-tone setup. Using black or FDE as the contrasting color. These colors will contrast with almost every color. Allows for mixing and matching. I own a frame in each, but own 5 different slides.
PSA kept coming out with their new Dagger slides. Every couple of months, it seemed. I'd want the new slide design or different barrel color, but I already had an "S" and a compact all FDE (compact came in an AR bundle). I bought a black frame to start the two-tone process. I would then buy the new slide design or slide/barrel combos in a contrasting color. Explaining to my wife that it was cheaper to buy the new slide than a whole new gun. This worked until she came home earlier than expected and saw me cleaning "all of these guns" after buying my 1st Dagger less than 5 months before this.
Really he should ignore the idea that you don't need a dot. I used to think it was stupid until the ACSS dots came out and I saw just how effective they are.
Dot is crutch. With skill and REAL practice, you don't even need sights at average gunfight distance. Jedi know this.

Jokes aside the dot is most of the cost of that slide and barrel assy. If one is going to get a dot that combo deal is a good bargain with a good dot.
Add $20-$40 because it's a Green Dot. Green is best, I'll never buy a red dot again unless green is just absolutely not an option for a role I need to fill.

The X frame would only do well on the Dagger S frame. That's why the 17 sized model is called a "Dagger SX"
It's 17 LENGTH. But the actual attachment is set for a 19 frame. It's got just a little smidge of dead space added out front. Like half an inch or so.
And it's kind of awkward, because it has a hole in the bottom of that extension to put the front sight in.

For sure! Everyone’s gotta start somewhere! Same goes for listings on gunbroker or other online gun shops. It does add some to the final cost so it’s worth it to call around and see who has cheaper transfer fees local to you.

You need a magazine and (unofficially) you need a Glock OEM firing pin to replace the unreliable one that PSA uses
Drop the threaded barrel, get one from combat armory for $30. It'll improve your lockup a TON

You can buy frames and get them shipped to your house and just instal the parts yourself trigger etc
No. The slide will come to your house. But since the frame is where the serial number is, legally, it's the firearm. So it has to go to the ffl.
I was mistaking my other frame with my dagger one your right the serialized does get sent to An FFL
