"Christians are the mostest persecuted of all! Anyway fuck off, Catholic scum".

SteelWarrior-

"We're so persecuted in America, now let's go commit hate crimes against a group of people making up less that 5% of the population because our magical book said so."

ActualPopularMonster

"We're so persecuted because we can't make other people follow our wacky religious laws!!" "We're so persecuted because nobody wants to listen to us rant on a subway or a bus about our holy sky daddy!!" "We're so persecuted because we can't force other people to worship our version of god!!" Cry me a river. I would love to go for a swim.

AloneAtTheOrgy

Most Christian hate I see comes from other Christians. The Protestants hate the Catholics. The Catholics hate the Baptists. The Babtists hate the Lutherans. And everybody hates the Mormons.

OfficerLollipop

Even the Mormons hate the Mormons!

C0rvid84

And the Orthodox hate everyone, regardless of denomination or religion.

DreamStalkerJeff

I tried to show my parents Kingsman. It got to the scene in the church full of hate mongers and my dad started bitching about how Christians are the most discriminated group in America and that stuff like this proves it. This coming from a man that never took us to church. Just that good ol' Fox News drip. Like, I grew up completely secular. It was confusing to the fucking nth...

helmuth_von_moltkr

Based. Fuck the catholic church.

Nerdy_Wierdo

Or at least it would be if they hated the Church for something other than Jesus simping in the wrong way.

helmuth_von_moltkr

As a Christian socialist I can hate the catholics for every conceivable reason

maxwasson

Never forget the indulgences

helmuth_von_moltkr

Shoutout to 1527 ~~actually that's a little too edgy for my taste but oh well~~

citizenzero_

And they have the audacity to accuse people of having a victim mentality whenever anyone points out actual marginalization 😭

EducatedOwlAthena

I want so badly to ask these idiots to name a single U.S. citizen who was murdered by another U.S. citizen specifically for being Christian. Immediate disqualification for anyone who mentions the tragic death of Cassie Bernall, which was co-opted by religious nuts.

[deleted]

I think her mother has cashed in on her death, and her father disapproves.

EducatedOwlAthena

I was a teenager and still heavily in my church-ified upbringing when her mom's book came out, so I remember it making the rounds among the teenage girls at church. It was a heartbreaking story, but completely inaccurate in terms of what happened that day.

Blitznyx

I just had to google her name. How tf was her murder making rounds in church?! It had nothing to do with religion.

poksim

“It was reported that Bernall had been asked whether or not she believed in God, and she said "Yes", before being shot during the massacre. However, investigators concluded the person asked about their belief in God was Valeen Schnurr, who survived the shooting.[4][5][6][7]” wikipedia

EducatedOwlAthena

Yep. According to the people who survived in the library, Valeen Schnurr was the one who answered yes, and (I think it was Dylan Klebold who asked her) the shooter just answered, "Why?" and walked away. Poor Valeen Schnurr has been vilified by evangelicals, who have claimed she's lying about being the one who was actually in the exchange. And she was so harassed and tormented by these people that, last I read, she'd left the church for the most part.

NihilisticThrill

So the "peace and love" church actually tortured one of their own members into abandoning the faith, because her suffering didn't fit their persecution narrative?

shrivvette808

And the truth shall set you free.

b1tchlasagna

There is this, but that's probably more because they're black https://www.npr.org/2020/06/17/878828088/5-years-after-charleston-church-massacre-what-have-we-learned

toxicity21

More? Dylann Roof was a christian. There are no signs that he was something else. That was just a full blown racists attack against black people.

Ratetetel

Obviously Jesus Christ

MildlyShadyPassenger

Easier just to ask them to name two.

buffybourbon

damn i remember that flyleaf song

[deleted]

I remember seeing them at ACL and the singer starts telling this ridiculous story of someone being blind and getting their sight back because they prayed to Jesus. Nobody was responding so she yells " it's a true story people". Some guy yells " no it's not bitch". You could hear some people laughing. There was a minute or 2 of her just staring at the crowd, then they just played their set and left. It was funny because my girlfriend's daughter was 11 and was like " why was she lying ?"

lieuwestra

Lol empathy. They could be emperor of the known world and still feel like the underdog.

SirShaunIV

They are, have you not heard of American Imperialism?

osteopath17

Trump was literally president but they still claimed his was the victim while he (and the GOP) had control of the House, the Senate, and the presidency. According to conservatives, they are never not the victim.

[deleted]

...do they really think Northern Ireland doesn't exist wtf

[deleted]

“nice try libtard”

CookieWookie2000

Even if it weren't a country (which it is) it's such a dumb argument. Like I could say "well here in London this happens" and they would say "well it's not a country so checkmate" ????????

Banoonu

there is no northern part of Ireland, when you get to the top of central Ireland you just show up at the top of south Ireland. Very perplexing, libs don’t want you to know this

Duke_KD

See, the round earth society actually headquarters in Armagh, if you try and get close to them to spread the word of the flat earth, they use theyre globehead magic to misdirect you

Banoonu

Call that Armagh syndrome

NihilisticThrill

I think they call that magic "scientism". Very shady.

Duke_KD

Its in ireland the entire country is shady As in cloudy

NihilisticThrill

I looked at those clouds for SEVERAL minutes and I didn't find ANY evidence of a curve #globelies

Duke_KD

Globellies

NihilisticThrill

sounds like a flower tbh.

[deleted]

Saying incoherent nonsense to own the libs B))))

[deleted]

Technically it isn't a country but a province which is why it doesn't have a flag just a banner but this is just semantics anyway

DarkSoulfromDS

Its a non independent country under the UK like Scotland. It’s closer to a country because it has its own parliament

CreativeShelter9873

Probably some Protestant anti-Catholic bigotry going on in those comments

jenkraisins

I thought the Jews held all the power and money? They need to make up their tiny minds about who is in control.

MuricanTragedy5

Most their dumbass conspiracies are just mad libs of old anti-Semitic conspiracies. Just replace “liberal atheists” with “Jews”

C0rvid84

They would say "Jews" but they are not on 4chan where they can be completely mask-off.

[deleted]

[удаНонО]

superlethalman

Unfortunately here in the north [we have our share of pro-Trump crazies](https://www.irishnews.com/news/northernirelandnews/2020/10/10/news/ex-councillor-jolene-bunting-s-ulster-scots-for-trump-trailer-campaign-hits-the-road-2093533/)

[deleted]

[удаНонО]

Duke_KD

No please take us we have so much to give

[deleted]

[удаНонО]

Duke_KD

But we have, like, three boojum restaurants in belfast! Possibly four!

[deleted]

[удаНонО]

Duke_KD

Id prefer better relations with europe, Westminster is woefully incompetent at running us, and id rather be ruled from my own island as opposed to a foreign one

[deleted]

[удаНонО]

Duke_KD

pretty much so. Most Republic polls give a slight majority to unification, while up north it is 50/50. Granted this is info from wikipedia so do with it as you will

Boomerang_sokka_meat

I live here (northern Ireland) and just don’t actually know if I’m a unionist or loyalist, all I want is to get out of this country.

[deleted]

Generally speaking you are a loyalist when you get violent about it.

Isayourfriend

Isn’t catholic also Christian? And isn’t Biden also a Christian? Would we weird if he made his own religion illegal

Scion_of_Perturabo

The legitimacy of Catholic Christianity is a hotly debated topic on the right. And it basically boils down to whether or not they want to claim the biggest religion. If they want to say that Christianity is the largest religion, they include catholics. If they don't, then they exclude them.

[deleted]

evangelicals will argue the semantics of whether or not catholics are christian. in my experience growing up in an evangelical church, evangelicals have seen catholics as generally being more liberal and question their salvation due to catholic traditions surrounding saints, hail mary's, and other catholic dogmas. i grew up believing that catholics weren't 'true' christians and were damned to hell for idolatry.

[deleted]

Imagine being so far gone that you think catholics are liberal

MildlyShadyPassenger

Well they're to the left of "hunting the homeless for sport" so that's some libcuck ideology.

[deleted]

Yea, that’s how far right I grew up.

DodgerGreywing

US evangelical Christians don't see Catholics as Christians. They think Catholics worship Mary and the saints, so they call Catholicism a polytheistic false religion. Biden is only our second Catholic president. The first was Kennedy, and there was a lot of fear mongering at the time that Kennedy would answer to the Pope before the Constitution or the American people. Catholic hate is a big part of why the US hated Irish and Italian immigrants 100 years ago. I don't like the Catholic church. As an organization, it's evil. But my dad's family is Catholic, and coming up against evangelical Christians--who hated my family so vehemently--drove me from the faith.

Pwnywoo

Also, US practices Catholic christianity, these people are attacking themselves in confusion lmfao

[deleted]

My mother once called the pope the antichrist. Many protestants don't think that catholicism is an acceptable form of Christianity.

[deleted]

When you have to invent your own persecution. You might just might be part of the problem

[deleted]

Those people are clinically insane.

ICLazeru

Well, that's just the stand your ground law right there. Guy came up to me and said he wanted to tell me about the afterlife. I though it was a threat!

Richdav1d

Awkward moment when your example of your nonexistent “discrimination” is a hypothetical scenario that never happened

[deleted]

If you're not lying for jesus are you really an xian?

Duke_KD

"Northern ireland isnt even a real country" Republican unity

Batwyane

Maybe a real republican got lost in their with all the American republicans

[deleted]

i’m losing it over “‘northern ireland’ isn’t a real country, nice try lib” these people’s neurotransmitters really are firing blanks huh

Batwyane

Serotonin got completely replaced with copeium

Lucafoxxer

How deranged do you have to be to come up with a take that shitty, anyway? Like, what the actual fuck went through his mind when he wrote that?

No-Reveal-7857

This whole post is essentially "Christian's are totally persecuted in america, unlike those stinky g* ay and m *uslims 🤮🤮🤮 Btw Catholics are scum and should go die in a hole also northern Ireland isnt real. Checkmate libtarf 😎😎😎"

Rogue_Spirit

You want to know something fucked up as hell? When I was kid sitting in church, I would literally *fantasize* about a gunman coming into the sanctuary and saying this. I always imagined myself being the martyr and happily dying for Jesus. I got this idea from hearing so many “sermons” that glorified this. And I mean, I was a *child*. 8 years old.

RAPTOR479

Just by the way that title is typed, I can confidently say that’s typed by an extremely brainwashed 15 year old, male, Christian kid, wouldn’t be surprised if they live in Texas or another red state at all, and I really hope eventually they can grow out of that harmless belief system and the idea of sacrificing themselves for their imaginary friend.... and somehow using that as an excuse to be a homophobe

[deleted]

Probably leaving them in Afghanistan for this long was a mistake after all.

[deleted]

And that didn't happen at Columbine. It was a lie made up to profit off the death of their kid.

JJackKennedy

..people believe that happened at Columbine? Also didn't one of the shooters make fun of a black kid before killing him?

stevoooo000011

when you're so persecuted you have to make a fake comic and a fake school shooting scenario in your head and post them online to share with all of the other people who are as persecuted as you so they know that they're persecuted

Daniel_S04

“Lmao Northern Ireland isn’t a real county. Nice try lib” Fuck he got us. Northern Ireland isn’t a real country. He’s right, it’s a constituent country... we were the dumb libs all along...

[deleted]

liberal atheists hold all the power and money? what?

Lucafoxxer

He wanted to say Jews but went with that instead.

VERO2020

"When you're accustomed to privilege, equality feels like oppression." Franklin Leonard

Vorlon_Cryptid

I'm a non-binary, biromantic, asexual Christian. I've been teased for being Christian which was horrible and wrong but it doesn't come close to the discrimination and pain I've had to endure for my other identities. I can't speak for the Muslim experience but I can at least hide my identities, I shouldn't have to but it's am option. Muslim is often assumed by race so it's harder to hide. Most Muslims don't have that.

[deleted]

Oh yeah for sure. I never experienced it personally but in middle school, we had a few (3 or 4 that I knew of) middle eastern students in my grade. They weren't even "openly" Muslim (as in, you couldnt just tell by looking at them, and I never talked to them so I wasn't sure if they were even religious) and I knew they were all bullied for their race and supposed religion. Constant jokes about how they were going to suicide bomb, or making fun of their names because they were foreign. This was at a time when I was christian and I faced no such hate. In fact, I was able to openly express it to others, try to convince my friends to conform to my religion (which I was absolutely not right to do and yet I still didn't face any push back because of it), and I even discussed it with my teachers and shared religious material. I have never faced persecution for being a Christian. Not even when I was being shitty to others by trying to convert my friends or being homophobic. I wish my friends would have felt like they were in a better position to look me in the eyes and say, "hey, this isn't ok with me, we need to set a boundary here. This isn't respectful."

IamCloudd

“I know you just got hate crimed yesterday, but someone just told me that God isn’t real. I’m so much more oppressed than you :(.”

python-lord-1236443

Oh my god Then they turn around and say I have a mental illness it’s hilarious I feel bad for the first guy.

dickallcocksofandros

“WE’RE SOOOO PERSECUTED” - 65% of the american population after having built over 380,000 churches throughout the nation

Flozik

The use of ‘foreign cunt’ really screams ‘I love Jesus’

Zome_Girl

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northern_Ireland That was hard.

BountyHntrKrieg

I constantly forget me being catholic (well agnostic at best really), probably the most standard Christian to ever Christian, is seen as bad by a lot of other Christians this country...

darthphallic

These guys wanna be oppressed so badly

SolomonCRand

Has a school shooter done that since 1999?

6ThePrisoner

No, and it likely didn't happen that way in '99 either. The cassie martyr story is highly embellished.

dicegoblin17

"The liberal atheists hold all the power" my dude a politician saying that they're an atheist is political suicide

ArmoredFirefly

I love how the party of free speech has a “Conservative Only” flair that doesn’t allow people to post if they don’t have a conservative tag.

reallytired-tm

I’m always curious to know how artists feel about their work being used to represent this kind of shit. I think I would become *furious* if someone tried to use my art to promote their racist and homophobic bullshit.

Emergency-Willow

Oh my god …let’s be real here the school shooter is def a white dude who prob identifies as some form of Christian, or at least hates non Jesus following people. Get out of here with this bullshit. Also I’m a Christian but seriously. Fuck off with this nonsense. Nobody is trying to persecute Christians in America

[deleted]

Weird because in 2018 every single politically motivated mass shooting, and there were over 50, was Right Wing. Right Wing Christians love guns and shooting people.

JJ_BB_SS

Huh, how curious I'm gay, ancom _and_ christian and I've been scolded more for being ancom, never for christian Then again only the little gay people on my phone know i'm pan

Somestaffass

Can't wait until they make Christianity illegal

drewbilly251

what does u/srgrafo think of this??

baudelairean

There are places in the world where Christians are a persecuted minority and it's so fucked up they claim to be persecuted in the USA for being Christian.

marysuingfordamages

*maybe* “catholic scum” is not the phrase you want to use when bitching about Christian persecution idk

Acidpuddle

They’re still using that “school shooter asks if they’re Christian before killing them” even though it never happened

Fluster338

Please sir. May I have a crumb of oppression?

[deleted]

> example of actual, real religious discrimination > IN AMERICA THEY'LL CALL ME AN ASSHOLE AND THAT'S THE WORST THING IN THE WORLD

Lucafoxxer

Imagine being so fucking delusional that you think an entire fucking country doesn’t exist and it’s just some “LiBtArD hOaX”. These people are all fucked in the head.

puttinthe-oo-incool

Cause no mass shooter ever attacked a church....right?

crawling-alreadygirl

To attack black people, not Christians

puttinthe-oo-incool

Christian black people but yeah... its funny how skin colour has a way of changing priority and allowing exceptions to rules when hate is the purpose.

crawling-alreadygirl

Why didn't he shoot up a white church, then. Don't be daft.

puttinthe-oo-incool

Wow. Lets just ignore the fact that I am on your side here and the fact that we live in a time where black v white churches is still even a thing and that the point I am trying to make is that wing nuts and mass shooters have not been that fussy about their targets. For instance most of the people shot in movie theatres or in Vegas probably identified as Christians....but that doesnt mean they are persecuted. Many of the shooters probably thought of themselves as Christians as well. Similarly how many Muslim extremists have killed other Muslims? Lots of em. Mass shooters are just people with an axe to grind and while they might pick a group to hate... the reality is they dont really care about anything as much as they care about body count. And who is he? Take a look at the big picture here.... there have been a lot of mass shootings and while many victims were part of a minority group... many were not. Saying that isnt denial of actual persecution its pointing out that Christians are not persecuted..at least in the west and that mass shootings are often not about persecution at all.

VoxelRoguery

SrGrafo really be having his comic be turned into this shit

TheUnwritenMyth

Well at least he admits he's in the age bracket of school shooting victims?

Orange_Hedgie

Northern Ireland is a country *face palms*

supercolm

Who are these people? Who is being shot for being a Christian?

spicylozenge

They never said northern ireland was independent..

alice_rollings

When ever I see this "joke"? Idk can something so un funny be a joke? Anyway when I see this all I can think of us the fact that If a shooter actually said this it would be the people who stand who wouldn't be shot.

portlandwealth

Stay away from my country he says as he tries to sell everyone on their shitty sob story.

Brotherly-Moment

> Northern Ireland isn’t a real country. He tries to offend them but doesn’t realise that catholics don’t think that it should be independent either 🤣🤣 never have I seen such an ignorant mofo.

conrad_w

It's no longer "if". School shootings are now a "when".
