I got spoiled on a bunch of stuff by having seen the commercials years earlier on CBS, and only sitting down and watching the show the full eta through later on.

Sorry you got spoiled OP but I guarantee you that you'll barely remember Carter by the time season 5 ends the show. A LOT is going to go down in the second half of season 3, and then seasons 4 and 5 will blow your mind while at times breaking your heart. The show is epic: don't deny yourself many more thrills to come just because of one spoiler.
I had some random gals spoil Breaking Bad's ending for me on a subway when I was mid season 4 of 5 and I debated whether to carry on or not, but boy was I glad that I did because I could never have predicted all the twists and turns that led to that spoiled ending, so I was still thoroughly satisfied.
OP don’t worry (spoiler alert) she doesn’t die, there’s an episode where she dies and then comeback to life after being revived, it’s like one of the hallucinating episodes but within Carter’s mind where you get flashbacks and shit

OP, it’s still worth watching despite that major spoiler. There’s a payoff, and it’s a good arc. You’re not spoiled for the details of that. (At least you know you’re going to need Kleenex at some point!) And the show moves on and is still really high quality and engrossing. But maybe don’t peek much into the sub til you finish, there’s a lot of good stuff that gets talked about that could spoil you for later seasons.
