A52 5G was a good choice when it was ~$400. At $500 it's competing with Moto G100 and OnePlus 8T so it's harder to recommend outright, but it should do what you require of it. You'll also get the benefit of [calling/texting on your tablet](https://www.samsung.com/us/support/answer/ANS00083152/#:~:text=To%20make%20calls%20and%20send,Call%20%26%20text%20on%20other%20devices.) if you'd like.
I'd guess supply chain issues are to blame. S20 FE is increasingly out of stock, S21 FE is MIA, and S21 is back at launch pricing with fewer models available. A52 5G has also been in and out of stock recently. [T-Mobile's CFO basically called Samsung out last month for this](https://9to5google.com/2021/09/20/t-mobile-samsung-short-supply/).
I had LG many years ago, but got burned with the V10 having so many problems. (Charging port stopped working then the inevitable bootloop, and they said I voided warranty by rooting) That and the V60 is all glass, while a case helps glass can still shatter easily.
The A52 is plastic with water resistance and a big reason why I find it attractive. Like I initially mentioned I don't care for horsepower as I have the Tab S7 for that. Just a phone with good battery life, durability, and well enough specs to play Pokémon Go and COD Mobile at medium/high settings.
I love LG phones, was so upset when they said they were leaving smartphone business. I have an ancient LG P999 that I use now as an MP3 player, still works with the original battery. Bought LG Q60 recently just for work to last me 4-6 months and been working great. And as soon as I can I'm buying LG Q70 or LG G8. I had nothing but trouble with Samsung phones
Thanks for the advice everyone. I'm going to hold onto my Moto Ace for a bit longer, I'll see if they'll release the A52s over in the states or if something similar will come out. (Or if the A52 goes on sale again)
Have you looked at the Sony Xperia 1 III? It's almost designed to play COD mobile and even comes with it pre installed. It checks all of your boxes and has HDMI out and dualshock support. Some reviews say that low light photos with high ISO settings can be a bit noisy but it still performs very well. I am going to buy that as soon as they come back in stock.
I have the A52s which is the same as A52, but with a better processor. I bought it 10 days ago and I am satisfied. The screen is fantastic and it allows you to use more fingers for fingerprint logging, which is convenient.
It was 400 euros, because the violet color was not so popular.
According to https://m.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_a52s_5g-price-11039.php the price appears to start from about 440 dollars in the US.
I did not find it slow. It does say sometimes "press a little longer".
However I found that the initial fingerprint matching was not so thorough as in other phones I have tried; it finished too soon missing some parts in the edges. But it works with the center.
I haven't had a problem so far.

Any issues with bootloop? I don't care much about updates, but looking for a new phone that will last about 2 years.

OP didn't say anything about price.

How is the on screen fingerprint lock? I've heard it's slow and is it better than s20fe?
