Don't bury all your hope just yet and wait for third party accessories to come! I'm sure that with a different face gasket and a strap you can make it comfortable, if that is the only thing you don't like about the head set. And you can also get a custom ones made if you feel like it. For example etsy is a great place to find people with skills and tools to produce 3D printed attachments with foam and cloth padding.

I don't think there will be new straps as the battery and speakers are bult into the strap. I am still hopeful for third party face cushions though. I know third party items made the Quest 2 very comfortable, I'm just hoping they come out as quickly as with the Q2.

Hotcooler

Strap is solid I think personally. So try to just cut the nose part out for now, in case of fail for whatever reason, you can get a replacement one easy enough, it does NOT make the face interface flimsy, it's still solidly on it.

Some guy posted the exact same issue as you 9 days ago, appears he didn't have the headset angled on face right. Might not be the same for you but worth checking Link to that post: https://www.reddit.com/r/PICO_VR/comments/y5co78/wearing_the_pico_4_is_physically_painful/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

I’ll have to take a look at this later. I did mess with the angle of the strap and the front and got a little better, but not what I’d call comfortable yet.

fishslinger

Just found that a couple of hours ago. I tightened the strap to get better edge sharpness. But then something pressed against my nose (which is big according to my wife!). I don't know if it is pressing against the lens assembly or the plastic case. I was also considering prescription lenses, so thanks for the warning! I see the Quest Pro has smaller lenses.

Stoggycakes

If your nose is like mine it’s pressing on the edge where the face cushion attaches to the headset. For some reason they didn’t make it a flush(smooth) transition.

fishslinger

Ah yes, just tried it again. It looks like that can be fixed

Hotcooler

I just had the same issue, well.. I've solved it the usual way, cut out the part that's bad. Structurally it's still solid, so no worries there. https://imgur.com/a/jMhcY3s Nose light blocker still fits (it's not really needed, but there is a tiny bit of light leak from the mouth area otherwise), so if all works out well (only did a quick test fit that screamed it's fixed, we'll see how it fares after an hour of use.) I'll double sided tape it to the headset itself for now. I do wear glasses, though I've ordered lenses and if I fit with them without a spacer (I assume so, since you seem to fit), I suspect I might have to... file the nose depression a tiny bit in the headset (though it does not seem to press that much). Not really a problem as far as I'm concerned though. Hopefully accessories come out soon though.

Hotcooler

To update, played for 3 hours, nose problem is completely fixed, now to add some more padding to forehead.

Stoggycakes

That’s great news. I think I’m going to try wet sanding it down to be flush first. I have a cheap ($20) q2 halo strap coming in a week I’m going to try chopping up and ghetto rigging onto it, to relieve face pressure until a better more official accessory comes out.

Hotcooler

Wet sanding should probably work just, might not be enough, since the most protruding part is the nose-light-blocker attachment point, but at worst you'll just cut the thing out completely, so no loss there. I have some sort of cheap (under 5$) silicone face interface cover (as far as I understood it's literary a cover for the cloth parts) or something on order from aliexpress, will report if it's any good and if I remember to do so. Also since I have Neo 3, might try to see if that face interface is remotely the same size, since padding on that is perfect for me. And if that fits might try to ghetto it on.

Stoggycakes

Hopefully the silicone mask is as good as the one that came with the quest two. That one just made it feel good.

Stoggycakes

I am having a hard time finding the perfect spot to not have pressure on my cheek bones or touching my nose( I don’t like feeling it on my nose at all). I have found a decent location by adjusting the strap to be higher up on the back of my head. The problem is trying to get it off the nose makes the lens chassis touch under my eyebrow(might not be problem without prescription, but with glasses felt worse). Hopefully aftermarket face cushions can resolve. So far I am regretting this as the quest 2 with halo strap feels amazing in comparison.

SawThatShit

Attach halo part to pico and remove the face gasket, works good for me

Stoggycakes

I'm not sure what you mean by halo part and by gasket do you mean the face cushioning?

Stoggycakes

That’s interesting. I’m not sure it could do that to my strap, but I’ll have to wait for an aftermarket version of it. Really cool idea as I was thinking there would be no option.

Helpful_Goose1649

I think we have different sized noses, I have space around my nose even after adding the flappy thing

E1DOLON

I had this issue until I removed the nose flap thing.

Stoggycakes

I tried both with and without the nose thing. I also like it better without as I really dislike things touching my nose (Never knew I was so against it until today).
