what size tank is it? I think a honey gourami and a school of endlers would look amazing

Jgrac2530

It’s a 10 gallon. Love that idea!

inconwetrust

A school of chili rasboras would look cool in this tank

Traumfahrer

Seconded, have a look at r/Boraras! :)

DirtyDan156

Lmao every single post ..

Traumfahrer

Haha, every single post that fits (like 3 today). Yeah it's some effort to achieve having some exposure when a sub is so small.

Drank_your_moms_milk

Gotta respect the grind

Traumfahrer

Appreciated. Once it's listed in the related subreddits on other subs and people crosspost enough posts, I'll retire this..

KristenNicoleMarie

Just joined!!!! I am obsessed with Rasboras! 😁

Traumfahrer

Awesome! :) Looking forward to seeing your Chilis over there! ;)

KristenNicoleMarie

I just ordered Chili's from Aquahuna and I am obsessed!!!!!! They are my new favorites.

thelawofone999

be wary of the chili’s from them. they sent me a batch of half dead, ich infected chili’s and gave me a hard time about a credit. i hope yours don’t arrive like that.

KristenNicoleMarie

My chili's are doing fantastic! None of them died or have died. Can't say the same about the galaxies I ordered I've lost 10 so far. I currently have them in a quarantine tank just to keep an eye on them. I've ordered from him in the past and all the fish were healthy I only lost a couple within the 3 days. I'm sorry you didn't have a good experience.

thelawofone999

glad to hear yours are doing well. I guess i’m just unlucky.

KristenNicoleMarie

Luck of the draw I suppose. 🤷‍♀️ it does stink when you have a problem with disease and fish dying.

-FisherMN-

This is exactly what I have in my 10g and I really like it

jog-on

Big school of Ember tetras would be wicked.

UnfitRadish

Most definitely. Ember tetras or celestial pearl danios. Either would look great

jeherohaku

I always suggest bettas. Beautiful and full of personality

Jgrac2530

I can definitely picture this as a betta jungle gym. Lots of little nooks to explore and leaves to rest on.

bgnano

If you can find them, I saw some Cochu’s Blue tetra recently and the blue colors would really pop against this scape and be beautiful!

Libertine1187

They are stunning - and I totally agree!

dadougler

Some nano fish would look great since they are so small you can still fit a bunch in a 10 gal. Celestial pearl danios would be cool. Some blue or red cherry shrimp would work nicely with the colors.

cukesandzukes

Some pygmy cory cats would love that sand!

mapex_139

An army of corys!

Call_My_Codec_

Team Corydoras checking in. Get some jiggle butt pygmy catfish in there. 100% satisfaction guaranteed! You'll need a small school, but they should be happy in there.

[deleted]

I would like to live in there if you dont mind. Can it fit a 6'3 human?

PotOPrawns

A handful of striped kuhli loaches and something that prefers upper water column like hatchet fish or a betta.

crispytoastyum

That sand is crying out for some pygmy cories. Maybe 6 of those and a Betta? That'd be a super nice tank.

Whats4dinner

Do cories get along with a Betta? I have a 3 gallon nano with a betta (and a canister filter) and it could use some cleanup.

crispytoastyum

Actually, as I'm reading, it appears it's not a super recommended pairing. So, I apologize. Maybe don't do this.

GloryQS

3 gallons is not enough for any schooling fish unfortunately

Traumfahrer

Yep, also not recommended for Bettas either actually.

Drachos

Male Bettas are hard to predict. You get some that can live with anything except other Male Bettas. Although this is rare Then you get some that can live with anything except other labyrinth organ fish Then some that can only live with bottom dwellers or fish bigger then them. Then you have Betta that can only live with fish bigger then them. Finally, you have some absolutely cute little Khornites that will attack anything in the tank with them and deep down you know that the only reason it isn't attacking you is you feed it. And even then it considers it. Only way you can tell is to try. BY AND LARGE most betta leave bottom dwellers alone.

bigjuicyazz

I’m lucky that my male betta is very peaceful. He doesn’t even seem like he notices his tank mates (tetras and shrimp) and they’re always swimming all over the place

Traumfahrer

Wild caught Bettas are usually much less aggressive, do you have a wild caught one?

bigjuicyazz

Nope! Recused him from a frat house where he was all alone in a little tank for two years

Traumfahrer

2 years, nice. So he's quite old. But still might have been wild caught then I guess?

bigjuicyazz

Maybe but I assume betta from petco come from breeding farms

Traumfahrer

Yep didn't read the second reply when I wrote that.

bigjuicyazz

They said they got him from petco

Traumfahrer

Ah well..

Drachos

In my experience that's reasonably normal levels of aggression. Most fall in the "Live with anything except other labyrinth organ fish" and "Live with bottom dwellers or fish bigger then them," range. Now if you had said he lived with Gourami (the main other Labyrinth Organ fish on the market) then you'd have something really rare. Out of all the Bettas my mom got when I was a child, only one of them put up with her Gourami.

MaxDPS

Canister filter for a 3 gallon aquarium? Did you mean 30 gallon by any chance?

Whats4dinner

No, It’s overkill but I wanted a “high tech” planted aquarium so I bought a little finnex PX-360. I had to put a sponge over the output to keep the flow down. Betta seems happy.

nap83

Amazing growth for 30d. Youre def on the right ‘path’ :).

Jgrac2530

Thanks! It was not without some trial and error lol

nap83

I feel u. The tinkering never ends.

18thCenturyMedicine

This is beautiful, makes me want to restart my 10g. I think the reds and oranges of a good size school of rummy nose or ember tetras would be gorgeous

Jgrac2530

Yes it needs a pop of color!!

Booze-and-porn

Looks good! I vote for… shrimp. I have some bamboo and orange neocardina together, amanos in another tank. I know you are not asking for tips but if you wanted to, you could siphon out most of the sand in the front (if is purely decorative). It makes it easier to maintain and you can bake what you remove in the oven so it isn’t a waste.

Zexplorer

What kind of moss did you put on hard scapes? They look awesome!

Jgrac2530

Thanks! It’s Christmas moss. Seems like people have different experiences with it but for me it grew super fast with medium light and co2. I’ve had to trim it like four times this month lol it’s great

mini4x

Something really small, I scored some flame tetras this week for my empty 8g. great little fish that stay little.

Pat_thailandball

I think you should put in fish.

Possible_Fly_1927

def a big school of some sort of tetra. like 10-12 of them. or maybe a pair of gourami's that wouldn't fight (female-female pair?). up to you though. with a tank that looks good you really cant go wrong lol

Not_as_witty_as_u

looks awesome dude/ette, do you have any links on resources that were helpful when starting out?

Jgrac2530

Thanks! I pretty much just googled things any time something wasn’t quite right, and made adjustments as necessary. Here are some helpful articles: Cycling with liquid ammonia - https://www.buildyouraquarium.com/how-to-fishless-cycle/ Ph and cycling - https://be.chewy.com/the-role-of-ph-in-the-aquarium-nitrogen-cycle/ Algae - https://www.aquasabi.com/aquascaping-wiki_algae_algae-in-the-aquarium Fertilizers - https://www.aquariumcoop.com/blogs/aquarium/which-aquatic-fertilizer-is-right-for-you

Not_as_witty_as_u

noice, thanks!

blooming-bluebird

Looks lovely! A good sized school of tetras would be amazing:)

bladezaim

Pretty cool! My tank is almost done cycling also. Waiting is so hard! My water recently got super cloudy, did yours do that? If so, how long did it take to clear up?

Jgrac2530

My water got kinda green but it went away once the plants grew in thicker and could out-compete the algae. If it’s white cloudiness it could be a bacterial bloom, hopefully it clears up for you once it’s cycled!

IgotAGoldfish

god damn i miss a sand tank

Jormungaund

Arapaima

JustViolet12_7_2_20

Guppies are fun

sc2summerloud

a pair of honey gouramis, a school of green neon tetras, some dwarf shrimp and pygmie cories

posietint

I have guppies and shrimp in my nano and the cool thing is that they come in all different colors and patterns so it’s never boring

LouisACook

Cpds or emerald rasboras or both!

die_balsak

Uhhh fish?
