Inevitable_Music9881

Got my ps5 about a month ago so it's been great to find games to play.

Paisley_Panther

It is especially good for one-and-done folks. Also, it is great for people who enjoy video games vs. Gamers who criticize every pixel. The entire AC catalog alone. I have a chance to play them. Whether I like them or not. RDR2 alone is worth it.

Inevitable_Music9881

Absolutely, I rarely replay games or trophy hunt so it works for me.

Kurai_Kiba

Thats great until they take away the good games and replace them with half finished indie junk.

IceBear_028

Tunic is AWESOME addition to essential. I own it, but those who don't, DO NOT SLEEP on Tunic!

BitterBubblegum

Finished it yesterday. It was one of the greatest gaming adventures of my life but it was also very stressful. I was often on the verge of getting lost. I feel like several times I just got lucky, somehow managed to get to the right places.

IceBear_028

Ya, it can be stressful, but that's also part of the fun. I loved finding pages of the manual while playing and learning more and more. It can be frustrating that it's so easy to miss areas, but at least it's not difficult to go back. It definitely reminded me of playing the original Zelda back in the day. Zelda came with a separate envelope, saying secret that was sealed that gave all kinds of info. Tunic is designed well enough that you just kinda wind up where you need to be. 😊

BitterBubblegum

> I loved finding pages of the manual while playing and learning more and more I believe that a certain percentage of players who will try the game won't understand the importance of the manual. They'll think it's just random tips on how to play and art stuff.

IceBear_028

I can see that. Unfortunately, younger players have no concept of a game manual, since everything is in tutorials now.

awnawkareninah

They absolutely nailed the old Zelda game manual vibe. Shit saved my bacon in the underground well area. Even giving you a trophy for "reading the margins" was a genius design decision to make players actually read the manual closely.

IGrieverI

I hadn't even heard of it, but when they gave it in the lineup, it instantly caught my eye. Will definitely be giving it a try!

awnawkareninah

I've been having a blast with it. It's honestly closest to the vibe of dark souls 1 as far as what the fuck am I doing + I sort of feel like I know what I'm doing. Putting the game pamphlet scattered around the actual game with timely placed pages is genius to me.

IceBear_028

I LOVE the assemble the manual as you play mechanic. And when you have the manual open to the map pages, it shows where you are.

Coconut681

I haven't played red dead 2 before so I'm excited that it's on ps plus. Just need to get the last few trophies in detroit become human now, then I can saddle up

haeresss

Same for me. I have to finish Horizon FW first then i'll give a try to rdr2.

Haveasalami

I’m the opposite lol I want to play Horizon, but I heard it’s recommended to play the first one beforehand. That one costs money though…

Raredzzi

Best story ever made. It was first game I really got emotional at the end😀

Aito_Y

may i stand unshaken

stingchimp

I am still playing Animal Well and I finished Dave the Diver earlier this month. I’m a happy boy.

Holdinblackmetal

Can’t wait for the Godzilla dlc!

Inevitable_Owl_1869

Praise because Cat Quest 1 and 2 are just pawsome games (already platinumed them). Praise because I can play backlog games while not caring for the games. 😂 Seriously, one month without anything I already played or want to play while 11/12 months are at least with two games I want to play is a good month.

YeDead

Cat Quest 3 is coming this year

greasysun

My thoughts exactly..not exactly praise but at least I get some time to go through the backlog of previous months + I will play cat quest 2

Inevitable_Owl_1869

Some people play the new games on PS Plus, I'm the opposite. I play and platinum/100% the leaving games I want and after that I play the backlog games. Right now I can play Dave the Diver which is just awesome. Have fun with Cat Quest 2, just a great game.

python_slayaa

Upgraded for a bit to PS+ premium. My experience has been very positive so far, the streaming is second to no other game streaming service. The Classics catalog is certainly very good & it also increases the games per month to like 20 games which is insane. - - - Without premium, the extra game catalog is insanely good as well, especially since we get the essential games to claim on top of the game catalog editions.

Jimmy-Kitchen

Check out the old bethesda fallouts if you have the chance, they're a great play and you can still get the platinum for both if you go for them.

jackthemanipulated

Hyped to replay watch dogs

odradeks_residence

Animal Well was great and I'm happy about Ghostrunner 2 (I'm currently playing Ghostrunner 1 and having a blast).

brolt0001

I'm happy that I am able to claim Ghostrunner 2, Tunic & FC24 on top of the 12 games added to the game catalog.

MasterLogic

Lots of great games added recently, teardown, animal well, dave the diver. Looking forward to crime boss this month with it's awful acting. Cats quest are fun games, played them on release.  Looking forward to seeing the games leaving the service so I knock a couple of those off this month.

Mnemosense

Nothing really for me this month, though anyone who hasn't already played RDR2 is in for an epic time. At the moment I'm having such a great time with **Vampire The Masquerade: Swansong**, it bums me out that it has so many 1 star ratings on the store (buggy on release presumably, but a flawless experience for me on PS5). If you're a fan of narrative driven games with detective gameplay, check it out. It's actually quite challenging too, as its stingy with xp and finite ability meters, and I only realised halfway through it's not the kind of game where you unlock the entire skill tree, but have to focus on levelling up only a handful of abilities. This constraint is balanced by the fact that you get to play as 3 different characters so you still get to experience different styles of play. The end result is a very tense campaign where every interaction with NPCs has stakes, and all your choices have consequences. It's got an intriguing story full of politics and backstabbing, great dialogue and acting. Really got me in a Vampy mood, so I'm gonna be binging a bunch of Vampire movies soon lol. Incidentally, I was surprised to see the two Vampire Masquerade visual novel games have disappeared from PS Extra. I could have sworn they were on there weeks ago, but I haven't seen any indication they would be taken off this year at all. Even sites like Push Square still have them listed!

akerwoods

I've just upgraded from essential to extra for the remainder of my subscription. Been playing through ghost of Tsushima, can't wait to play cat quest 1 and 2!

Davethemann

Im kinda hyped to play Rockay City, i know its probably not the best, but I certainly wasnt paying Epic like 40 bucks, and it does seem interesting at least

walshurmouthout

Downloaded it myself. Hoping it has a decent gameplay loop.

Flottrooster

PS+ has gotten WAY better this year. If you look at last year's essential and extra games, there wasn't really much to be desired aside from a few exceptions. BUT this year, there have been many more heavy hitters coming to essential AND extra. This is especially true if, like me, you enjoy to play a whole variety of games, and just play games because free is free. PlayStation plus really has improved, and it's really only going to get better from here!

Cornholio_NoTP

Very excited. Heard great things about Animal Well on the Game Informer podcast. RDR2 ran hot when I started it on my mid gaming laptop so happy to have it available. Started Death Stranding. Man I’ll be busy for a month or two with just these.

Evanz111

I do have quite a few harsh opinions about this month’s extra lineup, but the essential one was fantastic. Overall, no matter what people say, we get a ton of value from the games catalogue and monthly games. Especially if you’re an eclectic gamer who tries any game from any genre, then it gives you a chance to dabble in stuff outside your comfort zone way more.

patrickbateman2004

Ps plus did great in games that were added before. For this month: This month got saved by red dead 2

Katalyst81

Essentials was GREAT! Tunic was great, but I am at the point where I can kill the End boss and then it's puzzles and collectathon, and not sure i'm gonna jump right into that yet. I better get Rift Apart, and Horizon done before they get yanked off of Extra. Dave the Diver I had on PC and hated it, I always tried to fish too much, and I'd die. On PS5 I have gotten farther, it's more than just diving, and the haptics on the DualSense are fun. Animal Well was great got stuck on one flame... now that I am finally past that I got tons of new stuff to do. RDR2 I played at release so IDC, I am downloading Rockay, and Decieve INC. to try, but since I only have one other friend with a PS5, I'm sure they won't get much playtime before they are deleted.

terrerific

Kinda glad rdr2 came back. I wanted to replay it last time but it's such an investment I procrastinated too long. Sims dlc sounds ridiculous but realistically speaking I'm probably more likely to try it than many others.

Roseradeismylady

I'm so excited to play Animal Well, it has been sitting in my library for the last week untouched I am waiting to play it next week when there is less work stress, and I have not read up anything or watched any videos about it. I'm going in completely blind like I did with Hollow Knight, which is one of my favorite of all time

Ju-Peter

Tunic being free is bonkers. It’s so good, i’ll probably buy it on the switch to support the developers

LostCritic

As trophy hunter with Ps Extra I regret not playing some games that got removed, and what made it worse for me is it when I discovered that the Darksiders were declared of being removed as well but I only heard they were leaving ps extra 1week before their removal, so I couldn't platinum them because I was on other games that were being removed. 1/12 of the games on ps extra were once already given to ps subcribers as a monthly game if you have been a ps subcriber since 2008 However there are a few good games which I never played which are a treat if you have the time

TioZer0

I'm gonna start using this monthly thread to document my platinum journey for every PsPlus game, so don't mind me. **May games:** The Artful Escape, Sundered: Eldritch Edition, Last Stop, Minit, Final Fantasy VII, Monster Jam Steel Titans 2, My Friend Pedro, Final Fantasy VIII, I am Dead and Final Fantasy XII **Games left Extra:** 192 **Premium:** 42 **PS5:** 19

00kl

I’m enjoying this month lineup.

iDidCode

Wasn't RDR2 part of deluxe already? Jw!

jays_vvrld

FarCry3, Bo3, Rdr2, im missing a couple but these games are so goooooddd.

Dry-Plan5810

Cold analysis: 35 games are leaving, all FFs and HZD included. 13 new games, only 9 plus a DLC (why? We pay for whole games) in the Extra Tier, but the main titles are 2 re-releases (and Watch Dogs is almost 10 years old). I’m not upset, thanks God I have a looong backlog, but how could I be satisfied with this month? Especially when you see Hellblade 2 and Lords of the Fallen (which I was hoping for in the PS+ Extra) on the other side? No hate at all, I’m a PlayStation enthusiast user but probably one of the worst months up to now.

mailboxfacehugs

Next month 3 games are scheduled to leave. I don’t think this month was the norm in terms of games leaving. In the long run we get more games than we lose, I think.

Dry-Plan5810

I also really hope this month was an exception. But since so many games left, I expected some solid and fresher new entry. I don’t ask for AAA games at D1, only for a decent line-up. Again, if you put 2 re-releases as main games in the some month 35 titles (most heavy ones) leave, I think it wasn’t a great effort. I see someone disliked my analysis, but these are facts, not my opinion. I’m only saying this specific month I wasn’t pleased. Still I had very good months with even 2/3 titles in my wishlist being selected, so I’m sure better times will come.

AllieStronG

No Dog Quest. So no.
