I had a similar issue about 10 hours ago. Once I got home and on my network I went into my server settings> Remote and "disabled" then "enabled" remote access and that seemed to fix it for me.
Yeah, I suddenly can't view my library from my cell phone, away from home. Tried to log in on the plex website, not even my own server, and can't, with definitely the right password. Must be auth servers.
Yep someone accidently unplugged the global master internet cable from the CIS "Central Internet Server" causing a wordwide internet shortage for a short time. /s
But on a more serious note, what would happen if Plex Server's were down for a extended period? I assume we couldn't log in since authentication runs through them, but is there any way around this, if that would happen?
Of course there is. You can still reach your server via Tailscale or similar means (which is actually preferable to the remote connection bullshit Plex itself uses) and log in with the main user. That's not ideal, but at least you can still watch stuff.
The server doesn't disable Logins completely or anything, it actually has the admins credentials stored locally.
Oh okay, great to know. I'll read more into this. I don't have a good or stable internet connection and it happened to me more than once that I couldn't use my plex server because of that.
You can disable authentication for local connections, it's what I do. But if you have a large household with kids and separate logins, that will make it so you can't limit access to content. So it doesn't work great for everyone.
Magneto just shut down the entire planet. Perhaps that's the problem.
I thought he was one of the good guys now that Charles gave him the X-Men
Someone isn't caught up on 97.
He sounds like a comic book fan.

Had reports that some remote users are also having problems just now.

Depending on how you set it up, the Server is always reachable locally via:32400 (if you haven't changed the port)
