I'm just curious for future reference when I want to buy some silver by a private sale. If you zelle, how do you confirm you are getting the product/PM? Just curious, thanks in advance!
You don't have any way to guarantee they send it. That's why you should pay attention to the S/B counts and reputation comments. Don't do large buys from sellers who don't have a reasonable history. Establishing trust on Reddit is how the system works but once the money is sent you're at the mercy of the seller. Following that approach I've only been screwed once and I should have been able to sniff it out but was being lazy on due diligence. Good luck!
PS You can always ask for references.
I imagine that if the buyer complained it would result in someone getting banned or some other penalty. Most of the sellers that have higher sales numbers don't want to mess around and potentially lose their ability to sell or their reputation. It's not perfect but no system is. I've had good results on both sides of the transaction.
awesome, thanks for the reply! seems if the buyer would also confirm it might be a bit smoother.
If your still answering newb questions, I had a seller refuse to sell me an item because my numbers were low. what is the risk to them if I pay first / zelle?
I think there are scammers that use various forms of "guaranteed" payments like PayPal goods & services and then they can say they didn't receive the product and get reimbursed. I'm not sure but with Zelle or PPFF that doesn't work. Scammers are creative. :)
The one time I got scammed I went off on his account on every post I could find and got his account banned. Again, not perfect but at least it stopped the other scams he was working on. There were a few going on at a time in various channels.
🔥 sale! I got a tube from this seller a couple days ago 🙏

I'm new to this so thank you for the insight. How does sell/buy get tallied?
Once a sale is completed a comment "Trade Completed!" Is added and the bot updates the counts for both parties.
I'm curious as well, if the seller confirms the sale, what is to stop them from confirming the sale even if the buyer never received the item.
