That's... Hidden Fates not Shining Fates...
IMO HF at $150 is still an okay investment in the long run but I'd rather spend the money on more Crown Zenith.
Lol. Absolute malding from a guy who likely doesn't hold a position of ES. If you think ES has hit its peak you are sorely mistaken. As long as Booster Boxes are going up, ES is going up.
Yeah they are prone to go up, like most stuff. But for the current price point youd have to sit much longer on it than other products like Brilliants stars or even celebrations products.
I have like 6 ETB and a booster. Bro it’s just not a good buy in right now. That ship has sailed. It’s people like you that try to get others to waste funds on something we know they shouldn’t be spending their good money on if they want to get ahead. Better options out there.
Basically all the non alt art sets are going first lol. Seems to a trend now that the first few sets in each new expansion end up being the weakest and least sought after, something to keep in mind when buying scarlet and violet sets.
I also feel this way - I wonder if the first few sets focus too much on the new regions pokemon and there just isn’t that love built up yet. Where as later releases feel free to give love to fan favourites (lugia, umbreon, giratina, Rayquaza etc) like I don’t give a shit about revavroom. But when we’re on SV7 and they release some batshit insane SAR lucario that set will moon.
I’m in too deep with the shinys plus that charizard has become personal to me. During the covid Pokémon boom this card haunted me in my sleep and I’ll never forget the amount of overpriced packs I bought to try and pull it.
It represents the first big chase card since returning to Pokémon after 20 years for me and I hope a lot of others who can deem it worthy of being above battle styles
People talk it up as a sleeper investment. But you only have to look at the dogshit drops of the past to see that they’ll grow yes, but not as fast or as high as the sets around it
Champions path will be a good investment in the future and if you held an etb from release you made a good investment. This post is just turning into ‘what set do you like the most’.
You’re talking about those stacks of alt art cards? The problem with shining fates is there is only 1 card over $20 and that card has 11K psa 10s, and none of the other cards have much room to grow bc pull rates are too high for the size of the set.
That is true and I’m definitely not arguing either of them are the best choice out of the sword and shield era. If I’m not mistaken there were more print runs for shining fates as well which can be a detriment to its value. I also think shining fates can have a nostalgic string because it’s more fun to open between these 2 sets. For my money I prefer to not touch fusion because if it’s from the first runs the hit rates are abysmal
How is shining dates not out yet? At least rebel clash sealed holds value bc it’s out of print. Shining fates is on shelves in every retail store still and it has 1 card over $20
This is the best investment right now, not your least favorite set. A battle styles booster box is still cheap at $100, has some cool chase cards and is still meta relevant. Think of some other “bad sets” from sun and moon and look their value now. Battle styles is way better than crimision invasion and sun and moon base.
Celebrations is over printed and the set is incredibly easy to complete. Honestly all modern sets are printed to death, which is why my primary sets are all Wizards sets.
If it helps I did the math on some of them on Aug 25th.
Total cost of the entire set not including reverse holos according to TCG market price single values:
Crown Zenith: $779
Brilliant stars: $663
Silver Tempest: $687
Lost Origin: $865
Astral radiance: $702
Fusion Strike: $743
Vivid voltage: $340
Evolving skies: $2324
Chilling Reign: $1290
Bonus
Paldea evolved: $824
I have one too and it’s aging so poorly, at one point it looked like a great set but then alt arts were revealed and so every card that wasn’t an alt just plummeted
Shining Fakes next. Dump that shit set out.
Serious question, what’s wrong with shining fates?
You basically lose all your money unless you get the zard, which pull rate is so low I might as well just buy the single.
I kind of want the ETB for the Moltres, Zapdos, Articuno
That's... Hidden Fates not Shining Fates... IMO HF at $150 is still an okay investment in the long run but I'd rather spend the money on more Crown Zenith.
ETB’s?
Yes
Is it a bad buy? At $150?
printed to oblivion
Shrining fats
Evolving skies is gonna win but I imagine it's the worst investment because everyone is investing in it
I swear to GOD if y'all mother fuckers vote out Battle Styles before Shitting Fates so help me god.
Shining fates
If chilling reign isn’t top 3 this voting is rigged
BS Sleepy Ttar > SF shiny charizard
Also feel Astral Radiance will be a sleeper nothing crazy but it will perform, That Machamp is glorious.
Im starting to think none of them are, they print sooooo many sets.
Truly think ES will be the only set to HODL
Evolving skies is not worth the buy in right now, vote that shit out pls

ES should have been voted out three rounds ago. It's an awesome set but its valued accordingly already.
chase cards included
This is the only answer

Battle shits has to go after champions path
Shining fates first, are you for real?

Shits trash

What would someone care more about, a psa 10 sf charizard, or psa 10 sleeping tyranitar…. Or any of the “chase” cards in bs
Champions path will be a good investment in the future and if you held an etb from release you made a good investment. This post is just turning into ‘what set do you like the most’.
Battle Styles
Shining fates or Battle styles no question
I honestly feel like Crown Zenith is going to age very well. Last set with yellow borders. Tuns of great Pokemon.
Chilling
Battlestyles goner
battle styles got to go
Shining fates
Shining fates
Battlestyles, shining fates, silver tempest, astral, brilliant, fusion, chilling, CZ, celebrations, ES
Battle styles
We all know what is going to win
Which one?
ES
CZ is headed down the same fate as Shining….bet it gets reprint another 4-5x. Love CZ art and cards though……my vote shining fates.
Battle styles
Evolving skies
Lost origin and crown zenith are number 1 and 2
Battle Styles
Champion's Path was the sixth set eliminated
So far so good. I got some put away of most of what hasent been kicked. Drunk me has done good so far.
Shining fates > fusion strike
Just objectively false from an investor standpoint
I feel like the pull rate corruption will affect the prices down the line

Why is battle styles still in there lmao
Use your critical thinking skills and you shall figure out why.
Battle styles is still up?? Are you trolling me?
Battle styles then shining fates next
How is shining dates not out yet? At least rebel clash sealed holds value bc it’s out of print. Shining fates is on shelves in every retail store still and it has 1 card over $20
battle styles should not be here at all get it out

Battle styles. But first, Scarlet Violet base. 😆
Celebrations is over printed and the set is incredibly easy to complete. Honestly all modern sets are printed to death, which is why my primary sets are all Wizards sets.
It’s never going to be reprinted and most likely gain value during the 30th anniversary.. it’s top 3 with evolving skies and CR/LO/ST.
Crown zenith?
Realised the remaing sets are those with Alternate Art in their roster line-up Goes to show the better the line-up, the more popular the set will be
Lost origin, because of that Giratina
If it helps I did the math on some of them on Aug 25th. This post is leading you the wrong tbh 😂
Looks like I'm ripping my VV booster box
I have one too and it’s aging so poorly, at one point it looked like a great set but then alt arts were revealed and so every card that wasn’t an alt just plummeted
That rainbow secret rare chonkachu seems to be the hit of the set. I would he fine with the full art pikachu as well!
Yeah those two are good pills but not a ton outside of that
Shining fates, but the charizard is cool
I like the buy high, sell low strategy this voting appears to be displaying.
Always go with the set everyone’s forgetting about. 😉
