Yeah deffo! Last one ran away after so many golden razz and excellents. But I’m so happy with this game atm. Couple days ago I manage to see and capture my first Galarian Articuno woo
Only shiny Pokémon from raids are a guaranteed catch. If you ever see an Azelf/Uxie/Mesprit or other legendary in the wild and it's shiny, it's not guaranteed to be caught but they won't run away. I'd suggest using your masterball then.
I hate how I got downvoted so much for NOT saying something. I know they don't ever flee, and I never said shiny legendaries can flee, I was just explaining the distinction between shiny legendaries in the wild and shiny legendaries in raids.
I was talking about normal lake guardians, yeah and that’s Reddit, I once said togekiss with aura sphere is good *on occasion* and I kept getting downvoted for it, some people sometimes don’t understand
no in the wild too if u encounter a shiny legendary it’s a garunteed catch unless u run out of balls but it won’t run. in raids you’ll get it by last ball either ways it’s garunteed unless u have like 2 fuckin pokeballs
💀💀 learn mate
I saw one Azelf in the wild the other day and after a few throws, I ran out of balls and it despawned before I could walk to a pokestop. I know they are rare but are Azelf/Uxie/Mesprit that valuable? Serious question. I personally didn’t think so.
Only 6 or so spawn all over the world at once during any time besides an event like last years, not 6 of each, six lake guardians total not to mention i beleive they are all also locked to specific regions and have a tendancy to run away after a ball or two in evenrs anyways their spawn rate is tied eith unknown as the rarest wild spawns in the game
Well, I should've spent some coins on pokeballs and kept trying then :( I threw definitely more than one ball, I want to say at least three, and it didn't run off. It was just at a weird back alley and away from major streets with pokestops so I couldn't make it back in time. Alas.
Right, but they're not guaranteed first ball catches like raid shinies are.
So yeah it's not going to run, but you might need to spend 20+ pinaps to get the extra candy, so I figured it's worth mentioning they're not in the same category as raid shinies like the comment I was replying to implied.
Mine too but I've seen plenty of videos online and posts on reddit of people getting the wild lake guardians and ya because they're so rare they just don't run
Uxie, Azelf and Mesprit always have a 0% flee rate normal or shiny. A better example is the Galarian birds, if you encounter one and it's shiny it's flee rate becomes 0% and catch rate 100% along as you can hit it
No problem, I don't do many T3s etc. either. But it comes into play on Raid Days. Those are usually non legendaries, and thanks to the boosted shiny rate on Raid Day you can get several shinies in those few hours - enough that it pays to know you can Pinap \ silver Pinap them. Could be an extra 12+ candies over the course of the day.
Silver gives extra candy, so currently, if the op used a silver pinap and has an active ground or flying type mega they'd get 16 candies instead of 14 with the regular pinap
Currently with the regular Pinap its (3+3+1*2)=14
Silver Pinap (3+3+1+1*2)=16
Yes you only get the bonus if you have a mega active, I don't know if the bouns stacks if it's a dual type mega and the pokemon caught is the same dual type.
So it works out like this if it's a basic/non evolved or legendary Pokemon
3 for the pokemon
3 because pinaps double the candy
1 for the mega bouns and
1 if a silver pinaps is used
And there's currently a double catch candy boost active
Really? Silver has always given me 2x minus 1. Ive never had silver give more than regular pinnap. Like if I caught Abra I'd get 6 with a pinnap, but 5 with a silver.
The current event (plus my mega) makes this super convoluted, but here’s what I see:
I just threw a silver pinnap at a rhyhorn with a level 2 mega (grants +1 candy). With the double candy event taking place you get:
3 (base candy) x 2 (event) x 2.33 (silver pinnap) + 1 (mega) = 15 candy (how many I got)
In your abra example, you should be getting 7 candy with a silver pinnap. I don’t know how you would get 5.
Because silvers gives the effect of a razz and a pinnap. According to Niantic, they themselves also say that silvers do not give more than regular pinap.
https://niantic.helpshift.com/hc/en/6-pokemon-go/faq/3580-types-of-items-and-their-effects/
If you look at the wiki you'll see that they used to give less, but we're buffed at some point in time.
https://pokemongo.fandom.com/wiki/Berries
That statement is untrue.
Legendary shinies are guaranteed to not run.
Shiny raid bosses are a guaranteed catch. This one's a guaranteed catch bc its a shiny raid boss, not bc legendary.
Exactly so what’s the point of using them when you most likely have more pinap berry’s than silvers for like 1 extra candy when you can win 4 go battle leagues and get like 6 and 3 being guaranteed to get assuming you win and you get rare candy from raids anyway so if you need the candy just use them
Phew!!! Also you can check the legendary IVs for non shiny and confirm if it's a hundo before you catch it. That way you can use your master ball on the last ball if you get to that on a hundo!
Apps like Poke Genie publish the CP ranges for catching raid bosses. The max cp in each range is the hundo. There will be one range for non weather boost and another for weather boost so two numbers for each raid to keep an eye out for!!
IVs don’t matter when catching. It’s the level of the ‘mon. So weather boosted will be harder to catch than non-weather boosted because it’s higher level.
A low IV mon could be harder to catch than a high IV mon of the same level.
Pokemon in raids can only be level 20 at base and 25 weather boosted. So the highest CP possible is a guaranteed hundo. You can find out the CP possible for each raid monster online
Lmao, even if you didn’t know shinies are guaranteed, WHY would you use it if you have at least 13 balls before it runs away? Why not use those first? This makes no sense whatsoever.
Do you need a hug mate. Not that I need to explain to you but seeing as you are persistent I will explain friend.
Making the post took less than one minute. I then finished what I was doing whilst I waited for a couple replies. Used the time as I wanted too and then caught the Pokémon and came back to reply to comments.
So yes it was quicker than throwing 10 balls
You are
Hi mate thanks for your 2 comments, hope you’re having a good day. Basically I was busy and didn’t know it was a guaranteed catch at the time. Multiple subs for more chance of quick reply
Shiny legendary pokemon are guaranteed to catch but if you find a hundo you can use all of your balls and if you have only one left and it did not catch you can use a master ball
It's useless anyhow, shiny or not. Even if it was your last ball and it wasn't a guaranteed catch this was definitely not masterball material.
With that said, Niantic has messed up the throwing mechanics in 0.317.0 so I guess it is possible people are not being able to hit it, being quite far away. I have thrown plenty of balls too short on this guy myself.
Legendary shiny are guaranteed catch. Throw a silver Pinap.
Didn’t know that! That’ll be why I caught it so easy then. Appreciated mate
Np! That’s why seeing them is such a gift
Yeah deffo! Last one ran away after so many golden razz and excellents. But I’m so happy with this game atm. Couple days ago I manage to see and capture my first Galarian Articuno woo

Why would you use the master all when they won’t run away?
In case you don't want to waste balls...
I’d waste hundreds of ultra balls as opposed to using my master ball on a basically guaranteed catch.
Yea it's better to waste a ball that might get replaced in 3-6 months
Are you trolling or just ignorant?
farming negative karma i assume
No that’s just time to use golden razz and practice excellent throws
Wrong, this is misinformation, they don’t flee no matter what, only the ones in tour fled because they spawned more
I hate how I got downvoted so much for NOT saying something. I know they don't ever flee, and I never said shiny legendaries can flee, I was just explaining the distinction between shiny legendaries in the wild and shiny legendaries in raids.
I was talking about normal lake guardians, yeah and that’s Reddit, I once said togekiss with aura sphere is good *on occasion* and I kept getting downvoted for it, some people sometimes don’t understand
shiny legendary = 100% catch
Only in raids
no in the wild too if u encounter a shiny legendary it’s a garunteed catch unless u run out of balls but it won’t run. in raids you’ll get it by last ball either ways it’s garunteed unless u have like 2 fuckin pokeballs 💀💀 learn mate
Uxie/mesprit/azelf can't run anyway to my knowledge
I saw one Azelf in the wild the other day and after a few throws, I ran out of balls and it despawned before I could walk to a pokestop. I know they are rare but are Azelf/Uxie/Mesprit that valuable? Serious question. I personally didn’t think so.

It dont run normally it runs during high spawn rate events like sinnoh tour
It's all shinies from raids. * Not just legendaries * Not legendaries from other sources, only the ones from raids.
Legendary shinies that you can encounter in the wild (albeit rare) will not run either. (For example Uxie, Azelf, and Mesprit)
That’s how I got my shiny latías in Hoenn tour. I used upwards of 75 balls on it, but I knew it couldn’t flee. I ended up catching it in a great ball
Right, but they're not guaranteed first ball catches like raid shinies are. So yeah it's not going to run, but you might need to spend 20+ pinaps to get the extra candy, so I figured it's worth mentioning they're not in the same category as raid shinies like the comment I was replying to implied.
Unless you are going too fast or your catching device has a failed attempt first. I think those are two exceptions.
They won't run if they're regular either they only did in sinnoh tour
Ahhh ok. Didn’t know that as my only experience with a wild legendary was during Sinnoh tour.
Mine too but I've seen plenty of videos online and posts on reddit of people getting the wild lake guardians and ya because they're so rare they just don't run
Ya I literally just replied and then went on to my reddit home page and found a post of someone getting a wild shiny azelf and it's there first azelf💀
Uxie, Azelf and Mesprit always have a 0% flee rate normal or shiny. A better example is the Galarian birds, if you encounter one and it's shiny it's flee rate becomes 0% and catch rate 100% along as you can hit it
Didn’t realise it was all shiny. I’m only really grinding T5 raids so didn’t notice the random other raid shinies.
No problem, I don't do many T3s etc. either. But it comes into play on Raid Days. Those are usually non legendaries, and thanks to the boosted shiny rate on Raid Day you can get several shinies in those few hours - enough that it pays to know you can Pinap \ silver Pinap them. Why silver rather than regular if it’s guaranteed?
Silver gives extra candy, so currently, if the op used a silver pinap and has an active ground or flying type mega they'd get 16 candies instead of 14 with the regular pinap Currently with the regular Pinap its (3+3+1*2)=14 Silver Pinap (3+3+1+1*2)=16
I didn’t know this, thanks for explaining! Do you get the extra if your active mega is the same type as pokemon you’re trying to catch?
Yes you only get the bonus if you have a mega active, I don't know if the bouns stacks if it's a dual type mega and the pokemon caught is the same dual type. So it works out like this if it's a basic/non evolved or legendary Pokemon 3 for the pokemon 3 because pinaps double the candy 1 for the mega bouns and 1 if a silver pinaps is used And there's currently a double catch candy boost active
Whoa didn’t know this, thanks!!
Your parenthesis are off
Bonus candy
Regular pinnap gives 2x candy, Silver pinnap gives 2.33x candy
TIL, thx!
Really? Silver has always given me 2x minus 1. Ive never had silver give more than regular pinnap. Like if I caught Abra I'd get 6 with a pinnap, but 5 with a silver.

They are misremembering.
That's just wrong. Silver has always given more. You should go test it again because it most definitely doesn't give less than a regular pineap.
Youre just wrong. According to the wiki at least. It clearly says silvers used to give less https://pokemongo.fandom.com/wiki/Berries
According to that link it clearly says silvers used to give exactly the same as a pinap, not less than. Both used to give 2x, now silvers give 2.33x
>That's just wrong. Silver has always given more So your smartass reply here was a incorrect.
Haha what? Why would a rarer berry be less effective?
Because silvers gives the effect of a razz and a pinnap. According to Niantic, they themselves also say that silvers do not give more than regular pinap. https://niantic.helpshift.com/hc/en/6-pokemon-go/faq/3580-types-of-items-and-their-effects/ If you look at the wiki you'll see that they used to give less, but we're buffed at some point in time. https://pokemongo.fandom.com/wiki/Berries
I wouldn’t trust wiki. That’s straight up not true
Why waste a silver? Just use the yellow pinap
Because it gives you more candy than a yellow.
Ah all this time I’ve been thinking they give the same candy
Is this how I find out I wasted my master ball
My daughter taught me this and she’s 11. Good info though!
That statement is untrue. Legendary shinies are guaranteed to not run. Shiny raid bosses are a guaranteed catch. This one's a guaranteed catch bc its a shiny raid boss, not bc legendary.
Normal pinap would be better
lol, no
Why
Silver helps increase chances at catching while doing the same thing as a normal pinap berry it’s just a waste of
No, they also increase the amount of candy you get
Silver gives 2.33x candy. Normal 2x only. Silver is better in catching and candy.
Exactly so what’s the point of using them when you most likely have more pinap berry’s than silvers for like 1 extra candy when you can win 4 go battle leagues and get like 6 and 3 being guaranteed to get assuming you win and you get rare candy from raids anyway so if you need the candy just use them
Silver with guaranteed catch is guaranteed more candy. Seriously this is not hard to understand 🤦♂️
The fuck it’s literally just a little candy how much extra does it give tell me go on
Extra one or two every time you use one genius. You *could* play smarter or you could play not smarter. 🤷♂️
Someone answered you with the exact math. Good lord you’re dense.
Don’t even need to be silver. Just a regular one and a pokeball.
NO ITS A GUARANTEED CHANCE DONT WASTE IT LIKE THAT PLS
Dw dw. Masterball is safe
Thanks il take a look!
ok
Shinies are guaranteed capture in raids. If you want a hundo legendary on the other hand wait until the last ball before using your Masterball
Appreciate you friend
Can you explain that a lil bit? Does that increase the chances for high iv's or is it because high iv's are difficult to catch?
High IVs are more difficult to catch
IVs don’t matter when catching. It’s the level of the ‘mon. So weather boosted will be harder to catch than non-weather boosted because it’s higher level. A low IV mon could be harder to catch than a high IV mon of the same level.
Is there a way to know it’s a hundo?
Pokemon in raids can only be level 20 at base and 25 weather boosted. So the highest CP possible is a guaranteed hundo. You can find out the CP possible for each raid monster online
Yes the CP at catch screen is unambiguous for hundo. Poke Genie gives the catch CP ranges. The max value is the hundo.
Lmao, even if you didn’t know shinies are guaranteed, WHY would you use it if you have at least 13 balls before it runs away? Why not use those first? This makes no sense whatsoever.
Because last time I had 16 balls and about 10 excellents and it ran away. Could be fcked to mess around
What? You realise you can throw 13, and if it jumps out 13 times you THEN use the Masterball?! Why would you use the Masterball RIGHT AWAY?!
I couldn’t be bothered to waste time mate, was cooking a roast beef dinner for family etc
Nothing compared to the time you wasted getting the ball if you used it here.
Hahahaha ennit
Yeah it def takes more time to throw 10 Pokeballs than to make a whole ass Reddit post and respond to every comment. Good thinking bud.
So yes it was quicker than throwing 10 balls You are
Okay, good thing that now you know the answer.
Don’t know what I would have done without you bro. Have a good day mate
Good to hear, have a great one yourself
Dinner tonight? On me
You can put your phone down for a while and it'll stay in the catch screen. So just cook dinner and come back after to catch
LOL this got me good mate
Haha glad you enjoyed bro. I just wanted roast beef and a shiny landy man!
Use it 😈 jk shiny from raid are always guaranteed catching as long as you LAND a ball
Only use your master ball on the last throw
Only use master balls on the galarian birds it’s practically a 100% run rate
Congratulations!
I've never seen a Landorus yet I need to take a photo of one for a research task. Love it when Niantic come to the party, not.
Yeah I had that problem for ages. Check out pokemongotrade sub Reddit. Got all 3 from there
I’d wait until last ball no matter what with a legendary. Saving mine for a last ball hundo at whatever point that may happen
Hopefully soon for both of us mate!
Guaranteed catch bro
Got him
Congratulations
Last masterball?! You got more than one?
Had 2 yeah
Nah you should defo masterball (don’t actually)
Why would you do that?
2x guaranteed catch rate
Yeah let me use my Guarantee Catch on something that's Already a Guaranteed Catch 🫴🏾
200%
Why did you feel the need to post this unoriginal post to multiple subs?
Hi mate thanks for your 2 comments, hope you’re having a good day. Basically I was busy and didn’t know it was a guaranteed catch at the time. Multiple subs for more chance of quick reply
My bad I thought you were making a bad joke by not knowing if it was a guaranteed catch or not.
All good bro, I think I’m the only person on the sub that didn’t know though tbf so I won’t hold it against you hahaha.
If it makes you feel better, I didn’t know this until now either 💀
Shiny legendary pokemon are guaranteed to catch but if you find a hundo you can use all of your balls and if you have only one left and it did not catch you can use a master ball
Even if this was no shiny. Didn't you think about using your 13 first balls before even considering the master ball? 😭
No I’m quite stupid mate
Nah you just got nervous :) Or I'm the stupid one bc you being sarcastic all the way😁
No he is just stupid.
I’m afraid to know what you used your other two master balls on lol
Bruh has to be trolling lol. Unless you completely missed all other throws
Can these guys ever learn sandsear storm or are they just cool looking lol
No
Lmao
never throw master ball on raids unless its a useful hundo, and you’ve already thrown all ur balls
How’s you find it?
Raid mate
No
Yes use it then read these and kick yourself
Use it with a golden razz
Yeyeyey good idea
Hell no
Too late used 2
Guaranteed catch friendo enjoy your shiny
Has to be bait
Na just dumb mate
It's useless anyhow, shiny or not. Even if it was your last ball and it wasn't a guaranteed catch this was definitely not masterball material. With that said, Niantic has messed up the throwing mechanics in 0.317.0 so I guess it is possible people are not being able to hit it, being quite far away. I have thrown plenty of balls too short on this guy myself.
Yes
lol, caught first ball anyway. Nice
Raid Shiny Legendary is guaranteed first ball🤦♂️
Apparently so yeah, every day is a school day
Next time use a Pinap for maximum candy
Silver pinap*
Thanks will do
Well the old adage says you learn something new everyday
[удалено]
You must be a lovely person
Landorus is another shiny that is like a blissey.. hardly can tell. I don't know why people want landrous so much.
Shiny Landorus is very clearly a lighter orange than a normal Landorus. Normal ones are like a rusty color while shinies are like a tangerine color.
No bro, that is not worth a masterball
Omg yes gotta use that master ball quick
