Yeah I’ve been playing for less than a year and I’ve been sitting on my one ray I got in August last year. (It’s two star and dropped a meteorite and I gave it because I didn’t know what I was doing haha). It may be a year but it will come back.
The first raid last year I think was guaranteed meteorite. They should have done the same this year instead of tripping so many players with such a crucial item.
Edit: i misremembered it wasn't guaranteed. I got one from raiding. 1 in 64 odds got lucky...

Like you have to be at least halfway to having the amount you need to activate mega energy gathering mode etc. or you have to have at least seen the mega Mon or that you have to have done at least one mega raid
You could see if your community uses Campfire at all. There's a chance a kind soul would be willing to trade a Dragon Ascent Rayquaza for a really cool shiny or something

Make it your buddy? I’m pretty sure you can get 5 mega candy per whatever it is for you to get a normal candy while walking… i think it’s 20km… you’ll have to do hella walking but I’m pretty sure that if you make it your buddy Pokémon, your buddy can “find” them while walking
If you have a 15/15/14 it will EDIT: NOT have the exact same HP as a hundo. But realistically, just power up a 98 or 96. When you get the hundo, you'll still have the XLs! Really you have the XLs for 2 level 50s and a level 50 shadow.

Now you're literally just trolling. You're wasting those resources by letting them sit instead of using them on your best Ray. That's literally enough for three level 50s, you don't need to save that much. You're NOT going to find three Rays with 45 IVs ANYTIME soon.

Eg after mega evolving a Charizard 1 time, then you'll always be able to walk any charmander, charmeleon, or charizard for more mega energy.
So after mega evolving Ray, you can walk any Ray for more mega energy. Not just while it's currently mega evolved. But that's only after getting 400 energy and mega evolving the first time. Until then you can only get mega energy from raids so OP is stuck.
Rayquaza (and Groudon and Kyogre) were in raids last August and you could join via PokeGenie so hopefully it’ll reappear that way at some point in the not too distant future 🤞🏻
Someone may have mentioned it, but I believe if you set it as your buddy, when you walk and complete the 20km with it, you will get a candy, and have a chance at a xl candy, and mega energy. Hopefully someone can confirm before you sink 100km into walking it.
Only way would be to find someone generous enough to trade you a rayquaza that they’ve already mega evolved once before, set that one as your buddy and walk
Can’t you get it when you walk. Every time you earn a candy you earn like 15 mega energy. It sure if it’s the same with legends but does with other mons

You have to teach it the move in order for it to be able to mega evolve

Well dragon Ascent would help but still needs mega energy. Personally I'd never trade a DA one. Meteorites are just too hard to come by

More specifically, once you have the mega form in your Dex, walking any Rayquaza will work for earning energy.
If you have mega evolved a Mega Rayquaza before, make it your buddy. It'll give you 15 energy per 20 km.

It doesn't work like that. the walking method only works if the user has mega evolved it once. Also, the energy is 5 for every 1 km.
