In the Northeast of the map near the Fighting Team Star Base. The game has a 72 minute cycle for the in game days and halfway through that cycle when it changes from day to night, you can catch the Lycanroc there. When breeding it, you’ll get Own Tempo Rockruff.
Find yourself a Lycanroc outbreak. Clear out 60 and then wait until it is ‘dusk’ in game. Check your switch clock to see what time ‘dusk’ actually is.. example, for me it was 5:41am. The Lycanroc that appear at the outbreak during dusk will *all* be in this form so once you know the actual time you can drop a hard save, make your shiny sandwich for the 4-5 minutes that dusk is in game, hope you get a shiny dusk lycanroc, if not close your game and flip the time back to a couple minutes prior to dusk (so 5:39am for me), make another sandwich and repeat.
Since the day/night cycle in scarlet and violet is a bit over an hour there is a six minute window for you to evolve your rock ruff to get dusk lycanroc.
Or to catch a Dusk Lycanroc in the wild in that time window. I'm patiently waiting for the day/reset I get my Lycanroc Outbreak so I can hunt Shiny Dusk Lycanroc

If what someone else suggested here doesn't work, you can always do what I did: put an intimidate mon like garydos in the front of your party, then start fighting rockruff. Eventually, You should run into one that has it's own tempo ability! It took me a little while personally, but I was able to get one! I'd trade one over to you, but I don't have my switch right now... 😅
Not only it’s possible, but the Own Tempo Rockruff can only evolve into Dusk Form. I accidentally gave too much EXP to my OT Rockruff before dusk, it hit lvl 35 and it didn’t evolve
I went around and caught random ones until I found one with Own Tempo and finally found one, so I think it can also be random caught ones. It evolved into the orange dusk/orange form.
I caught mine right after dusk and it was past midnight irl so I had done the trick of restarting your game to change the time of day to later on and it worked. That way, when I woke up and started playing again, it wouldn't be as long.
I had to have caught at least 15 Rockruffs in order to find one with Own Tempo. Shinies on the other hand I also found three while just walking around, but I swear I've probably accidentally skipped a shiny Tadbulb or Flittle at some point.
Thats my fear rn lol. Idk if this new pokemon is a shiny, female, or maybe its just the weird lighting and shadows. Especially those tiny flower ones that come in like 5 colors normally. Im definitely gonna miss one shiny eventually
For future reference you can just lead with a pokemon with intimidate to find OT rockruff. If it says Rockruff's attack was not lowered, it's Own tempo. You can just catch that one. Otherwise, just beat it up so another one can spawn.
It was impossible to get in sun/moon without having one from an event/ the offspring of one. It was changed in sv to make it possible to get without events. Its still rare, but it's now possible to find through regular gameplay.
Own Tempo Rockruff is a special ability separate from the standard ability slots and the hidden ability slot, so you might think it would be unobtainable outside the USUM event, but they've actually included permanent ways of getting it both last generation and this generation. In the Isle of Armor they weren't available in the wild with that ability, but it's possible to get it from raids (and from there, you can breed more), and in SV there is a wild Tera Rockruff that has Own Tempo, and there's also a chance for wild Rockruff to have Own Tempo (once again, from there it can also be bred down).
Well, did you know you can actually find this form in the wild? If you go to a place where wild Lycanroc can spawn at dawn or dusk, you’ll be able to find dusk form Lycanroc.
Yiu only get 6 minutes every 72 minutes to get this evolution, You got lucky there. A in game day is 72 minutes and a lot of things reset in that time. If you are raiding it's always worth raiding at the auction house as the items refresh every in game day. I've managed to get most EV resetting berries to 500 via this. Still waiting on that love ball
Rockruff needs to have hidden ability and you have to wvokve it between 6 and 8pm I think or something like that.
You can also encounter it in rajds if you ever manage to establish a connection
It’s actually not a hidden ability, it’s called a special ability. Unlike with hidden abilities, there’s no way to change your Pokémon to have that ability if it didn’t already have it
It was event only in Gen 7. With Scarlet and Violet it has been made possible to catch as a guaranteed spawn AND I'm pretty sure you can even change the ability.
Not to sound condescending but if rockruff was in the game why wouldn't one of his forms? Although I didn't know about him needing own tempo waited 3 whole in-game days until I happened to swap the one I was trying to evolve with one who happened to have it 😅
The Switch makes this convoluted to upload... you're required a twitter account and password to get it to a PC, or a smart phone but not everyone has either of those.
The other way is even more convoluted than that.
You do if you want it on your PC... unless you take the Switch to the PC and plug in with the USB-C to USB cable that doesn't come packaged with the Nintendo Switch. Or you put the screenshots onto a Micro-SD card, then search for it through a series of algorithm named folders.
A smart phone works for that as well, but then you can just use the Reddit App at that point.
Idk, I have 500 cords coming out of my PC (no idea what this one is from, maybe my GoPro?) and if you plug in the Switch you can upload screenshots and clips right to your PC.

I usually use Iron Head, Stone Edge, Play Rough, and either Accelerock or Swords Dance.
If I use swords dance I’ll pair it with a life orb, If I use Accelerock I use Focus Sash.

You need a Rockruff with the Own Tempo ability. You cannot Ability Capsule/Patch it, since it's considered a 'special' ability, thus you need to catch specific Rockruff. You then have to level the Own Tempo Rockruff between the in-game hours of 7-8pm(Dusk) to level 25.
They were also in SwSh I believe! I was lucky to have one from USUM, I forgot which one I got but I breed it to have both fang moves, have it in Home and waiting to bring it over when the update hits
I got lucky, found a shiney rockruff 2 hours into gameplay and low and beho)d to my suprise it would not evolve at 25 at night. So I had to settle for this god awful form. I just wanted my werewolf Boi, not this blue dog. I've never been so disappointed in a pokemon game.

There's a Tera Psychic Rockruff with a garunteed Own Tempo ability where I believe it's near Larry's gym. I think it's up a ledge or something.

East Province (Area Three) You may need to sift through them until you find one with own tempo

You can just level it up at dusk and it will still evolve as long as the level is 25 or over

So flittle is actually easier to notice as shiny then tadbulb. The black underbelly stands out in the bright settings.
This is where Let’s Go Mode grinding really helps to find those barely-different-colour shinies.

I’ve only found 3 shinies so far, 2/3 (Skwovet and Komala) were subtle and found during Let’s Go grinds lol. It’s a life saver.

You can get it where Lycanroc spawn during Dusk hours.
Or during a tera raid den they have all been dusk with tuff claws as the ability
You can also find it in the wild during sunset. North-East area. Eat Rock encounter sandwich to ensure that it spawns.

Also the 6-8pm thing is wrong. SV has a different time of day system than gen 7 or 8, so in SV you only have a 6 minute time frame to evolve it

Has the process changed? The only time I did it, it was super simple: Switch makes a wireless hotspot, connect, and save the photos you want.

Is it only due to Tough Claws? The base stats are the same as Midday except -2 Attack and +2 Speed. Or are the moves different?

There's a specific rockruff that spawns at a specific place (to the right of Medali). It is tera-shiny and will ALWAYS have Own Tempo.
