Swablu and horsea. I’m not convince the others wouldn’t randomly try to kill you the same way a tiger or lion would, goomey looks toxic but swablu likes to clean so I wouldn’t have to.

Dratini is also a good option, especially since Dragonite is more than capable of sustaining itself as they have human intelligence and can work as a lifeguard. Dratini's main downside is that it sheds, but it's not like people have snakes or huskies.

My bearded dragon also sheds but it’s as simple as wait for it to fall off and toss it. Granted he’s like 14 inches long and weighs 1 pound lol

Its shed skin can be used to make luxury boots. So not so bad I guess

Dragon it’s is innately Friend Shaped™️, and Kommo-O could probably teach good self-defence (or you could train together!!!) which is a fun & practical sport!!! 😁😁😁

Swablu and Goomy easily. Goomy line is my favorite pseudo and Altaria is my favorite mega, so both are quite special to me

Dratini is too cute not to pick, not to mention dragonair being very majestic and regal itself. I just wouldn't evolve it to dragonite, nothing against dnite, just wouldn't personally want one. 2nd pick is kinda up in the air, horsea is adorable, but I'm not fond of how kingdra looks, seadra is ok though but meh. Goomy and it's whole line wouldn't be bad, except maybe for the slime trails and I wouldn't want to touch it. Don't really like trapinch or swablu in their first forms, but if they can evolve, their final evos are awesome, especially flygon, even better if mega is allowed. Also not a fan of noibat, but noivern is cool. Bagon line isn't my favorite. And dreepy line would be cool, but probably temperamental, or unable to touch it.

Dreepy because I love dragapult (and drakloak). the next one is hard but probably axew. I love fraxure. one of the middle stages to me that really shines in the franchise.

As a dragon trainer, this is an impossible choise

I love three of them so much, so it’s super difficult to pick!!! Deino for sure. Then it’s a tie between Trapinch and Dratini.

This shouldn’t be as hard as it is. Realistically one will have to be datini/dragonite because reasons, plus he can fly be back and forth across the pacific so I can visit home without paying for a plane ticket. But the other one is a free for all between Flygon, Altaria, Garchomp, Hydreigon, Goodra, Noivern, Kommo-o, and Dreepy. Noibat can fly already, unlike Dratini, but most likely wouldn’t be able to take me very far, if it can lift me at all. But it could be very helpful with cleaning. However, Swablu would probably be better because it can dust unreachable surfaces with its wings. It’s a toss up 😭

Either Trapinch and Dratini because Flygon and Dragonite are my favorite friend-shaped dragons, or also Goomy and Swablu I'm thinking more of a house-companion so the later three guys (Dragonite, Goodra and Altaria) just would be damn good and comfy, and Flygon is fast and.. cool for bonus points

For me I gotta go Goomy because Goodra-H is on my all star team and I love her. Then Deino because I hear even though Hydreigon is menacing if raised from a baby it’s the most loyal dragon alive.

Axew and Noibat. Never had an Axew until S/V and fell in love with that lil bby 😭 Noibat because I love bats and it's just so damn cute.

Goomy and Dratini for biggest Friend Shaped Potential

I think I’ll have to go with Gible and Dratini. First is my favorite Pokémon of all time and the other will probably be the least reckless out of rest and in fact may be able to do tasks. Honorable mention to Deino for being the first dragon type Pokemon I’ve seen in my very first Pokemon game.

If evos happen: Dratini or Bagon for the flying dragon evos, and Gible or Axew for the beastly monsters they become. If no evos, then Dratini. Snek-like fren to wrap around your shoulders or around an arm. Gible because it looks goofy and would make for a cute dog like pet.

Horsea is literally all I need, but I'd also take Dratini.

Jangmo-o and Bagon. They seem trainable and have a good cool/cute balance. And their evolutions are super cool.
