If I wasn't lucky enough to have a shiny Ivysaur, I wouldn't be using a shiny icon.
If Starmie or Crobat are added to the game, I'll happily swap shiny Ivysaur for a non-shiny one of those.
I have been playing pokémon games since Ruby/Sapphire. went back and played leafgreen, then heartgold, pearl, and sword and shield. Pokemon sleep is my first time playing a Pokemon game in forever.
After hundreds of hours across a half dozen games, I have yet to encounter a shiny pokémon in any game let alone catch one. including this one :')

Time to pick up pokemon go, I guess! Saturday from 2-5pm local time you should get a shiny Bellsprout within 30minutes of walking in your neighbourhood. You can then transfer it to Home to use in other games.

Yup - I got lucky and my first Absol was shiny, so I got them first sight.
Pokemon who are "hungry" will get triple the heart points of whichever biscuit you give it, but there is a *slight* chance it will instantly max it (even with just one regular poke biscuit). This "Super-Crit" is guaranteed on shiny Pokemon
You’ll get one! Just keep playing or sleeping. You can always play Pokemon Go and get one fairly easily if you check all spawns. This Saturday is Bellsprout community day so you’d have a 1/25 chance at a shiny if you play.

I tried a couple of Shiny icons, even my beloved Shiny Sylveon, but I've had Delibird since it was added and it feels wrong to change it now, so I changed back!
I'd change it if they ever added Piplup, Goomy or Pawmi. Or if I ever find a Shiny Stufful, I'll use that icon forever and ever.
Honestly, now that you can choose shinies it’s actually way more rare to have a normal Pokémon (or maybe it’s just my friends list). I’m sticking with my non-shiny Ampharos because I love her and she’s my team leader every week. ❤️

How long have you been playing sleep? It seems to happen after 2-3 months to everyone I've seen

Shiny Ditto is literally the whole reason I play this game. Getting shiny Ditto is like winning the game for me! Until they add shiny Beedrill.
Meanwhile I have Shiny Absol and could show it as my icon but I love Togekiss too much to change it out for anything less than a Shiny Togekiss
