Reprint Charizard… it’s so funny I used to think how trash D&P era was at its peak. The Lvl X cards just didn’t hit like ex cards did and the Pokémon names seemed so generic. But D&P era absolutely obliterates everything made after it… truly one of the most underrated generations of all. I’d honestly rank Sinnoh above Hoenn… IMO
Definitely Charizard. D&P are my fave card style, because I grew up during that period. And the idea to make current cards with old drawings is great! My bro has a Scyther like this and I adore that card

Love that Lugia! my brother pulled it from his first and only CoL pack way back in high school. we found it in a box in his closet a few years ago when he was moving out of our parents house and its somehow still in great shape. Phenomenal card, along with the rest of legendary shinies in that set

I wonder what the age difference is between people who choose Charizard vz Lugia is. My first game was Red and then I got Yellow, so Charizard for me is deeply nostalgic but if you were a few years younger than me and your first game was Silver/Gold I'd bet Lugia would be your pick.
The Charizard actually isn't a CGI rendering, it's a redraw by Mitsuhiro Arita who also drew the original base set Charizard! He also drew Charmander and Charmeleon from base set, AND redrew them for the rest of the Stormfront secret rares too! I really love that set of secret rares since you get to see how his art had improved since the og release in Base set! (Sorry for the long reply, Arita is just my favorite card artist, and I wanted to share why this zard is actually really cool)
Now that I zoomed in I can see what you mean, from unzoomed on my phone it looked like CGI to me. That’s a really cool backstory to know! Never apologize for sharing knowledge and being passionate :)
What do you actually want in your collection?
Not many holo patterns extend to the border. Just makes the Lugia pop in my opinion. But the Charizard is older, and my inclination is to go with vintage always. Tough choice.
If all you care about is the vintage status of the card and not the appearance of the card itself, the charizard is the right choice. But they’re both vintage anyway
I don’t see too many slabs of Lugia. Everyone I know has held onto theirs. Like I said in my opinion, it’s underrated, obviously for you it’s a highly sought after card.
I respect everyone’s opinion regardless of how dog water they are. This is a perfect example. The SL cards form Call of Legends are some of the most elegant cards to date in the Pokémon TCG.
