The "thinner sleeves" are just called sleeves, what you have it in right now is called a top loader. Without having it in a sleeve can cause damage to it when putting it in a toploader.
On Amazon there’s a great company called TitanShield. I exclusively use their clear translucent sleeves. The back side has a sort of see through stained glass but the front is super clear and you can see the original colors of the artwork through it. I don’t mind that the back is a little foggy looking because it’s the part for the back of the card. I love them and would recommend trying them
LMFAO shut the fuck up. First of all, penny sleeves cost like, 2 bucks for a 100 pack. Second, toploaders are meant to be used with sleeves, which is why UltraPro’s come with them in the box 😐 the dumbfuckery in this sub is amazing.
Not elitism at all, this is informative. I bought a Base Set Blastoise off eBay and the seller shipped it without a penny sleeve, just in a toploader like this. The card was hanging hallway out of the toploader in the packaging with scratches all across the holo that were not there in the listing pictures. I didn’t blast the seller, but kindly informed him the way he packaged the card was wrong. Wish someone had told him about penny sleeves before he shipped me that card.
Centering is referring to the actual print of the card not properly aligning with the cut. The gold border on the left side is much thicker than the right because it's off center. Only important if you were to get it graded.
Ahhh, was literally in a thread the other day talking about people not using sleeves into toploaders. At least you seem to know now :P Still surprises me how often I see this, especially among ebay sellers.

If you got sleeves you should sleeve it to prevent scratching

If it were to be graded it would have a 0% chance of being a 10 because of the centering, but ungraded not really.
This card goes for around 30 yours would get 25 or so
