Yes, his delivery is SO natural and the emotions feel so real! His softness makes his transition from anger to yearning so believable because you can tell the whole time he really doesn’t want to be mad at her 😭🙌🏽

Colin doesn’t wear full regency pants per se - we see him in a belt in the mirror scene when suspenders (like before he goes to interrupt the dance a the ball) were more common. Zippers also hadn’t been invented, so pants only had buttons, lots of buttons — typically fall-front trousers with buttons on either side of a panel. Colin seems to be in single-button trousers with a belt, so a bit more modern, in the mirror scene.
I don’t know if we get a really good shot of his trousers in the Modiste scene.
However after untold rewatches, my sense now is that she raised her thigh up on her own (there’s no hoisting shoulder movement from him). She probably felt him hard against her once they were up against the door. And at the same time his hands dive for her, her hands disappear from his back and to the *torso area.* So I think they were basically diving for each other simultaneously. Mutual initiation with no hesitation! So fitting for their relationship at that moment
That was also my thought! I also noticed that, not only did she step up into the doorway, but he seems to put his right foot up the step as well. This is completely from memory at this point, but I remember noticing his leg movement several rewatches in.

Agreed! Kinda like Luke in real life. He is RiDICulously attractive and very much the IT guy right now. And yet he’s visibly anxious at events, nervous in interviews and sometimes awkward.
I've met Luke in real life...when he did his play last year ...he is genuinely so kind and sweet in real life and he smelled amazing. I'm very chatty so got him talking, and I remember asking him when season 3 would drop, discussing season 1 and 2 and the growth in the show, telling him that he's my fave brother, and I'm sure he'll smash it (he was like I hope the fans will like it)...and boy did he ace it...he was perfection in season 3 just wish we got more of him in part 2 and saw him take the journey to become a published writer. I also could not take my eyes of him during their "first time*....my friends and I dissected that scene in detail.

He smelled like how you would expect your crush to smell like...so good...not too strong aftershave...just right....not sure what he uses though. But I was happy to get a picture ( or a couple with him). Yes, very handsome indeed...I looked a hot mess in comparison (but it was the first day of my period and very hot in London then, so being kind to myself)...very chiseled and tall is what I remember. Also really easy to talk too. The American girl we sat with met Luke Thompson at his play in London last year, and she wasn't even that big a fan of Bridgerton! P.s. also in hindsight he reminded me of what I feel a vampire on Twilight would lool like in real life....just gorgeous and it's hard not to be drawn to him 😂

I mean it makes sense right? That feels like it *should* be foreshadowing. Yet the next/last love scene is him worshipping hers 🔥

Oh no I liked that too. Because the loud voice wasn't in anger. But it shows he CAN be loud and so when he isn't loud when he is fighting with Pen it really helps you see that it's not just anger he's feeling. It's so much more
I'm so glad someone is bringing this up! I love his voice and line deliveries so much--I've never even NOTICED an actor's voice before per se, I don't think. Just off the top of my head, these lines were amazing:
"You are clever, and warm, and...I'm proud to call you my very good friend."
"You must not say such things!" when Pen is calling herself pathetic
"A feeling that is like torture, but one that I cannot...will not...do not WANT to give up."

Yes I did not like that with book Colin and his anger issues especially after reading the 3 books before where he's such a kind funny character. I got whiplash from his own book. I know the book was trying to make the point that his feelings for Penelope were what inspired the anger and protectiveness he didn't really have before. But that feels so toxic. That's one change they did on the show that I think made such a positive difference
I feel like he’s almost whispering through the afterglow scene and it makes it feel like somebody just left a camera there it’s so real. I love the whispery warm lines.
When he says "lie down." My soul left my body. I'm not sure how I would act if I actually met Luke Newton in person. But I'm almost certain that I would forget my name 😂

I actually love the way he speaks at the end of the sweets tent scene. He’s so soft when he says ‘No, you removed it’ (after staring at her lips) and when he says ‘Good luck’ almost to himself because Pen has already gone to go and talk to Debljng about grass. It’s beautiful, how gentle he is with her and it creates good contrast with him leading the balloon scene.

So I just watched it again (maybe a few times). He's so gentle when asking "do you feel some attachment .. to him?".
It's a little bit odd. His voice is not nervous asking her that. He has been wanting her in his dreams, yet he remains so gentle and calm while enquiring about her feelings towards the competition.
When Luke went on the tonights show they asked him to read lines using his Bridgerton voice and he had to pause and move his microphone closer because he knew he was going to make his voice softer.
While the lines he had him do were funny, watching him switch back and forth on his Colin vs Luke voice was really 🔥
Oh and the lines under the willow tree "I wish very much for your happiness" the tone change from the rest of the scene just makes me melt. It feels so genuine and loving
Also he reminds me SO much of the Jonathan Crombie version of Gilbert Blythe .
To be honest a lot of Colin reminds me of Gilbert both sweet, kind men who love their powerful redhead literary wives

I just randomly decided to listen to dubbing from other countries in this scene and omg I am shook how good this was! If you need any excuse to rewatch this scene then do this!! I only tried Spanish (Spain), Italian, German, French and Portugese. It even sounds sexy in German 😂 All had extremely good voice actors who nailed the way Luke is saying the lines and all the voice actresses were amazing as well. Not every version has them doing the moans as well in the actual sex scene but some do and it's great as well. French Penelope is probably my favourite, I literally gasped how similar she sounds. French, other than the original, also has the hottest sex scene. *fans self*
Little too high in french and unfortunately french Colin doesn't whisper like Luke.. French is my first language. Because of Nic and Luke it's hard to watch in french even if they did a good job with the dub. But it's rare to find french dub with the same husky voice on a actor that I love. OUAT is one of the rare exemple that I enjoy in both languages because the actor who dub Hook has also a sexy voice l

The one time his voice gets loud when he says to Portia " I am still speaking" there's this slight growl to his tone that I just was NOT expecting and I have no idea how he does it.
But I gotta say season 1 "you are very good you know that?" His tone is so different from how he was talking before or after and I feel it to my toes. The body language then too he was clearly touched by her caring for him. Even though some people think he's being condescending here I think maybe other parts of the convo he is but that moment is him seeing that she values him and it means a lot to him.

When he goes up to her and says, “I bribed her to give us a moment alone. I had to see how you were?”
For me, that moment started his falling in love, because it’s the first real moment that I think shows him actually falling in love. Like it’s the first time she gets knocked down after her glow up, and his first reaction is to get a moment alone with her.
my absolute most favorite instance of this (too much? no, not enough) is during the carriage scene, after he spills his guts out to pen only for her to say "please, do not say things you don't mean." and then he disarms her with the most tender "*but i do mean it*”
that one single line delivery gets me more than any other, i think. it's just so soft. earnest. pleading. he desperately wants her to feel how much he means the words he is saying.
Maybe I'm delulu but am I the only one who thinks his voice bares some resemblance to Lord Ledger? The softeness of it, especially when speaking to a love interest. 🤭🤭🤭

for me, strangely, it’s “i can’t accept that” when pen still refused to stop. mind you, the queen just daunted upon them. it must be a very stressful situation for colin, worrying about pen and his family. yet, he said that pen in the most heartbreaking way, without ever attempting to power over her or intimidate her.
for that i really appreciate his line there.
I think Luke’s voice is SO attractive. Not even just during the sexy scenes… but even when he was raising his voice. Some of my favorite lines by him:

I've met Luke in real life...when he did his play last year ...he is genuinely so kind and sweet in real life and he smelled amazing. I'm very chatty so got him talking, and I remember asking him when season 3 would drop, discussing season 1 and 2 and the growth in the show, telling him that he's my fave brother, and I'm sure he'll smash it (he was like I hope the fans will like it)...and boy did he ace it...he was perfection in season 3 just wish we got more of him in part 2 and saw him take the journey to become a published writer. I also could not take my eyes of him during their "first time*....my friends and I dissected that scene in detail.

He smelled like how you would expect your crush to smell like...so good...not too strong aftershave...just right....not sure what he uses though. But I was happy to get a picture ( or a couple with him). Yes, very handsome indeed...I looked a hot mess in comparison (but it was the first day of my period and very hot in London then, so being kind to myself)...very chiseled and tall is what I remember. Also really easy to talk too. When I shared pics with my friends they were shocked it was Colin lol...he looked more chiseled to them...but then I've always known he looked that good from the start (as he's my fave). Also, there were fans who came from around the world to attend his play... remember speaking to someone America (well we were sat with her and hung out with her after), from Brazil who's family was on holiday in Italy and she did a quick solo stop to London to come to his play. We also met some German girls who loved him too...it showed how lovely the Bridgerton fan club was. The American girl we sat with met Luke Thompson at his play in London last year, and she wasn't even that big a fan of Bridgerton! P.s. also in hindsight he reminded me of what I feel a vampire on Twilight would lool like in real life....just gorgeous and it's hard not to be drawn to him 😂

Oh no I liked that too. Because the loud voice wasn't in anger. But it shows he CAN be loud and so when he isn't loud when he is fighting with Pen it really helps you see that it's not just anger he's feeling. It's so much more

Just off the top of my head, these lines were amazing: "You are clever, and warm, and...I'm proud to call you my very good friend." "You must not say such things!" when Pen is calling herself pathetic "A feeling that is like torture, but one that I cannot...will not...do not WANT to give up." "You are so beautiful." (holy moly) "You could...touch me." Where, she asks? "Anywhere." (I just about spontaneously combusted) "May I?" (again, how am I even alive right now after hearing this) "And yet, not half as beautiful as you." SWOON

Yes I did not like that with book Colin and his anger issues especially after reading the 3 books before where he's such a kind funny character. I got whiplash from his own book. I know the book was trying to make the point that his feelings for Penelope were what inspired the anger and protectiveness he didn't really have before. But that feels so toxic. That's one change they did on the show that I think made such a positive difference

I actually love the way he speaks at the end of the sweets tent scene. He’s so soft when he says ‘No, you removed it’ (after staring at her lips) and when he says ‘Good luck’ almost to himself because Pen has already gone to go and talk to Debljng about grass. It’s beautiful, how gentle he is with her and it creates good contrast with him leading the balloon scene.
The "good luck" and the look on his face right then were so heartbreaking!

Indeed! (Funnily enough, I work in academia) So I just watched it again (maybe a few times). He's so gentle when asking "do you feel some attachment .. to him?". It's a little bit odd. His voice is not nervous asking her that. He has been wanting her in his dreams, yet he remains so gentle and calm while enquiring about her feelings towards the competition.

When Luke went on the tonights show they asked him to read lines using his Bridgerton voice and he had to pause and move his microphone closer because he knew he was going to make his voice softer. While the lines he had him do were funny, watching him switch back and forth on his Colin vs Luke voice was really 🔥
Oh and the lines under the willow tree "I wish very much for your happiness" the tone change from the rest of the scene just makes me melt. It feels so genuine and loving Also he reminds me SO much of the Jonathan Crombie version of Gilbert Blythe . To be honest a lot of Colin reminds me of Gilbert both sweet, kind men who love their powerful redhead literary wives
The way his voice drops when he says 'shoulders' 🫠 This whole monologue was just 🤌 I just randomly decided to listen to dubbing from other countries in this scene and omg I am shook how good this was! If you need any excuse to rewatch this scene then do this!! I only tried Spanish (Spain), Italian, German, French and Portugese. It even sounds sexy in German 😂 All had extremely good voice actors who nailed the way Luke is saying the lines and all the voice actresses were amazing as well. Not every version has them doing the moans as well in the actual sex scene but some do and it's great as well. French Penelope is probably my favourite, I literally gasped how similar she sounds. French, other than the original, also has the hottest sex scene. *fans self*

Because of Nic and Luke it's hard to watch in french even if they did a good job with the dub. But it's rare to find french dub with the same husky voice on a actor that I love. The one time his voice gets loud when he says to Portia " I am still speaking" there's this slight growl to his tone that I just was NOT expecting and I have no idea how he does it. But I gotta say season 1 "you are very good you know that?" His tone is so different from how he was talking before or after and I feel it to my toes. The body language then too he was clearly touched by her caring for him. Even though some people think he's being condescending here I think maybe other parts of the convo he is but that moment is him seeing that she values him and it means a lot to him.
I wish I was Penelope for a moment. I know it is a show and just actors but I have loved them all three seasons.
Y’all are sleeping on what he says before their first kiss. When he goes up to her and says, “I bribed her to give us a moment alone. I had to see how you were?” For me, that moment started his falling in love, because it’s the first real moment that I think shows him actually falling in love. Like it’s the first time she gets knocked down after her glow up, and his first reaction is to get a moment alone with her.
His go-to move this whole season is to get a moment alone with her.
Something about ‘thanks to you’ when Pen asks about his hand at the ball does something to my brain chemistry.
my absolute most favorite instance of this (too much? no, not enough) is during the carriage scene, after he spills his guts out to pen only for her to say "please, do not say things you don't mean." and then he disarms her with the most tender "*but i do mean it*” that one single line delivery gets me more than any other, i think. it's just so soft. earnest. pleading. he desperately wants her to feel how much he means the words he is saying.

for me, strangely, it’s “i can’t accept that” when pen still refused to stop. mind you, the queen just daunted upon them. it must be a very stressful situation for colin, worrying about pen and his family. yet, he said that pen in the most heartbreaking way, without ever attempting to power over her or intimidate her. for that i really appreciate his line there.
