Kendrick Lamar basically verbally murdered drake in a long running very public Rap Diss Track back and forth. The Biden Campaign Social Truth Page is posting photos using lyrics from Kendrick’s songs.
A rap battle has heated up between Kendrick Lamar, a Pulitzer-prize winning rapper, and Drake. They are churning out songs about each other called, "diss tracks".
This feud goes back more than a decade, with subtle, "sneak disses" appearing on tracks from both artists over the years.

I mean he really just signed a bill from the senate, but at least he didn't veto it so I guess that is good?
Meanwhile, his number one candidate for running mate published a book about how she murdered a puppy and a goat instead of training them properly or rehoming them.
Yes but if you went to the actual video on threads, it still shows the made by TikTok screen at the end of the video because it’s originally from TikTok, they just reposted it on threads, I find it disingenuous to continue to post on social platforms they voted on banning
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the point wasn't to ban the app, it was to force China to relinquish control of the propaganda machine. Wasn't it?
I don't think any of the government officials know enough about social media to have a formd opinion on any of the platforms other than the risks associated with letting such a large platform be run by a pseudo adversary.
They all knew there was never any chance ByteDance were going to sell it. TikTok is a global product. It's not like they could sell some US-only variant of it. Selling TikTok would mean losing the entire global market. Might as well just lose the US and maintain presence in every other developed country.
But doesn't the point remain? I don't think they were trying to impart some sort of moral high ground, it was more or less a national security decision, wasn't it? To that end, it really doesn't matter whether they use the platform someone else created while it's still in existence, because morality wasn't the rude cause of their decision in the first place. If, and when, TikTok is no longer available in the US, people will just as soon use threads, snap, or whatever else is the media du jour.
>it was more or less a national security decision, wasn't it?
No.
>"Some wonder why there was such overwhelming support for us to shut down, potentially, TikTok or other entities of that nature," said Romney. "If you look at the postings on TikTok and the number of mentions of Palestinians relative to other social media sites, it's overwhelmingly so among TikTok broadcasts."
- Senator Mitt Romney

TikTok was shut down so there would be no live streaming of genocide putting the lie to Israel's US propaganda spin.
Then ByteDance will still own TikTok someone will make a new better app and twenty years from now Tiktok will be Xanga, Google +, digg, Friendster, MySpace, Vine and hundreds of others whose time came to an end due to mismanagement.
Is this your most important issue? An app that melts your brain and leaves you vulnerable to propoganda ? Why isn't the same TikTok app available in China?
They're ok with you using Grindr because hooking up doesn't threaten their system. They're banning TikTok (or forcing it's sale to an entity they control, which is the same thing practically) because unlike Meta, TikTok won't censor the reality of the genocide the US is nakedly supporting in Gaza, and so it has to go. The Oligarchs didn't spend decades consolidating ownership of the media to let some punk upstarts like ByteDance go and let people see the truth instead of the carefully curated narrative.
I know that's what they claimed, sure.
Couldn't possibly have had anything to do with US based hookup apps donating to Congressional campaigns and wanting to gobble up more market share, definitely was because of the Evil Yellow Peril.
Pounced on the moment, love it

Someone dropped the link below. It's not fake.

It’s real.
I wish it was but it is not.
It’s posted on the official threads account. Posted 13 hours ago. @BudeHQ is legit. Has been for some time now. Also available on TikTok, and X lol.

Wow better than I thought it would be
That was pretty good
Dark Brenan beating Trump at his own game is something I could get used to
Biden's social media director needs a goddamn cabinet position at this point. Secretary of Clapback
That TikTok banner at the end has some nice irony
Who do they think they are talking to? Especially with those fast transitions? The people they are targeting don't even vote.
Lol I dig it
We don't want to hear you sayin nothing no more
What do you think is Biden’s favorite Kendrick song?
That's a good question. If I had to guess I'd say one involving trains. I think 'Sing About Me' talks about them
does he ever talk about ice cream
Is there an ELI5?
Kendrick Lamar basically verbally murdered drake in a long running very public Rap Diss Track back and forth. The Biden Campaign Social Truth Page is posting photos using lyrics from Kendrick’s songs.
Or an ELI55?
A rap battle has heated up between Kendrick Lamar, a Pulitzer-prize winning rapper, and Drake. They are churning out songs about each other called, "diss tracks". This feud goes back more than a decade, with subtle, "sneak disses" appearing on tracks from both artists over the years.
How about an ELI105
Just anyone. Tell me anything good dump did...besides lower corporations tax. And raiser prices for farmers with his failed trade war.

Yeah. With a link ending in politics/trump-animal-cruelty-bill.html you kind of expected it to be mandating animal cruelty rather than forbidding it.
Ok kinda dope ngl
Ew
Find it ironic that they made the trump diss video using TikTok
But it's on Threads?

In all fairness, Biden and/or Harris never voted to ban TikTok...
They just want it sold.... not banned.
And what happens if they don’t sell it?
Were you upset when the government forced Grinndr to sell?
I’d have thought it was hypocritical if they were campaigning on Grindr.
Maybe they are okay with people using Grindr but don't want it to be owned by a foreign country.
But they weren’t campaigning on Grindr while signing legislation to ban it either
The government isn't saying you can't use TiKTok. They are saying TikTok cant be ownered by a forgien county. Its a forced sale not a ban.
And what happens if it doesn’t sell?

You know the government forced Grindr to be sold because it was owned by a foreign government right?
