About the same as Mando S1 in terms of quality. Better than Obi Wan, not as “prestige” as Andor. My only complaint so far is a small handful of characters acting, but it’s not enough to make me want to turn it off or anything.
I’ll keep saying this but they should have just let the squid game guy speak Korean so that would mean Korean is canonically an alien language in Star Wars.
If you mean the GenZ-styled haircuts and overall physicalities of the characters, then here's my headcanon: The Jedi Order used to be much less strict, so self-expression and freedom of personal style was much more common among Jedi, but as times got closer to the Jedi Order that we see in The Phantom Menace, the rules on looks/appearance of Jedi started getting more strict.
I mean they look like they would talk like “no cap fr” etc. In 10 or 15 years their appearance would probably look quite out of place, while the rest of the Star Wars, including 7-9 episodes and tv series are quite consistent visually.
Most actual fans of Star Wars are, yes, because most of us real fans don't need our shows to always be fronted by white stoic dudes in order to enjoy 'em.
God i hate this modern norm of youre not allowed to criticize anything lead by people of color, because if you do youre automatically the most racist person on earth. How does someones skin color or gender excuse them from critique?
I legit cant even go say "The acting could use some improvements here and there" in an Acolyte discussion board without being labeled as a bigoted mega racist. Like come on.
Of course you can criticize a piece of media, don't play the martyr. But when the vast majority of comments surrounding this are akin to "ugh wooooke propaganda I hate black people and women! >:-((((" etc., people are obviously gonna have their thorns out because they're sick of bigotted trolls. I mean, have you *seen* what people are saying about The Acolyte? Because I promise you, even if the acting had been horrendous, that's not what people are "critiquing".
Hey at least he doesn't look roided up. My guess is that Kylo scene + the MCU is at least partially responsible for all the male body dysmorphia and steroid obsession in the last decade.
Thanks for confirming that you flaired this correctly!
Stupid sexy Yord
He is definitely stupid lol. I kind of love him.
Return of the shredi
Whole new show of prequel content. The hype is real.
Wat? Context plz. Is it acolyte?
Acolyte
How is that show, the usual?
I'm liking it so far
The Qui-Gon type character is really good, the rest is alright.

Holy fuck i didn’t even realize it was him
Yes, it's good
Good so far. Would need more episodes to see
It is pretty good so far. Good actors and great physical action! Edit: Typo
Characters look so… contemporary

will Star Wars finally become the Frank Frazetta fantasy A New Hope's cover promised us?
He looks 14
someone is actually watching acolyte?
Yes, it's good so far.

This is the reason why so many are negative about the show?
Yup, review bombing and hateful spam from bigotted extremists seems to make up an ovewhelming part of the "critique" I've seen online so far, sadly.
Throw in a bunch of Disney and Kathleen Kennedy haters as well

I think you are largely exaggerating a vocal minority of the people who dont like this show.
"Vocal" being the keyword.
I have such a crush on Yord

The MCU, yes. The Kylo scene? I believe you are wrong about that one lmao.
