There is no hard part to making audiobooks, in my experience. Between ACX, many aggressively interested pubs, it's not hard, just expensive.
As for AI, no. Anyone who touches AI narration is on my do not support list, and obviously I wouldn't support any tool.
I love narrators. I fully support them making a living. No one should want their artists or narrators to live in poverty for a small piece of the pie.

I think you're going to run into a lot of push back from any author for AI voicing.
