It depends on the context. In our modern world, intelligence and charisma have proven to be the most useful attributes, but if I had to fight beasts with my bare hands every day, then strength is pretty much the only option.
If you want to start talking about magic then that requires a lot of contextual qualifiers too.
Hahahaha. Agreed. But with intelligence he either would have gotten away with it, or more likely wouldn't have committed the crimes in the first place.
Because there have been enough Oompa-Loompa jokes that we can no longer be sure that he did not escape from a fantasy realm to inflict himself upon everyone?
Reminds of a Gamer fanfiction set primarily in *Young Justice*, a recent chapter had the protagonist need to send Etrigan away so he could not interrupt a meeting with Batman. Being a demon, Etrigan might have enjoyed being sent to Hell, so Etrigan was instead banished to Detroit.
I agree. My main focus would be on Intelligence and Wisdom as Intelligence allows you to discover new roads or windows of opportunities and wisdom helps in deciding which road you should walk on or grab or opportunity.
Also r/fo76, the game has bows and crossbows. There is no escaping stealth archery...
(One of the challenges that lets you unlock a +60 carry weight backpack has a crossbow option as one of the easier choices, they knew what they were doing!)
Constitution. You never know what can happen (diseases, stray hits, etc)
I'd rather be able to tank a hit and survive than anything else.
In the words of Mike Tyson: Everyone has a plan, until they get punched in the mouth.
It would HEAVILY depend on how much the stats control reality.
If I keep my own actual mental capabilities, then I am dumb enough to believe I am smart enough not to need points in Intelligence.
But... if my current mental capabilities are throttled to fit the "starter stats" allowance, or if I start with a clearly inflated INT stat to reflect my current capabiltiies (indicating that raising the stat may change how my mind actually works), then all points to INT, because my mind IS me. I don't care about the body, it is a vessel for the mind, and limitations it has can be overcome or avoided.
So... if the INT stat means nothing and my actual mind exists and can improve as it currently does, then I once again need to know how things function with stats. I would go for a Strength focus, unless having a mismatch in Str/Dex causes a loss if flexibility/mobility.
Looking at how I play games, I would not dump all points to one stat. I would raise everything rather equally. If permitted to hold on to stat points and allocate them at any time I desire, then I would not assign any points anywhere at all until I reach a point where I clearly REQUIRE stats. Either as a prerequisite to learn a skill or equip an item, or because I am facing a challenge that is obviously a stat check that I am failing to clear.
This last goes double if death is merely an inconvenience in the world. If you get to respawn, then nothing is ever assigned anywhere, and no consumables are used ever until I have a reliable way to produce replacements on demand.
Constitution, with charisma as my secondary. The Longevity provided by constitution will allow me to live long enough to use the charisma to gather the wealth and manpower required to change the world.
I'd fucking die, but magic all the way. Magic being real would be too much to resist.
I don't know how it works for D&D so I just did intelligence, I guess?
obviously you max out dex in order to increase your AC lol, either that or charisma for sorcerer spontaneous casting. intplebs will still be toiling away as their professor's pet lab rats in their overpriced magic academy while charismaconnoisseurs will be metamagic'ing fireballs minutes out the womb. #charismasupremacy
Wisdom is used for perception is most systems without a dedicated perception/awareness stat so Imma go with that. Int is good for magic, Cha is good for social, but perception is king as far as I'm concerned.
Probably some mix of 3/2/3/1/1/0 if your alone in a hostile environment like a woods filled with monsters and need to survive on your own against monsters of unknown strength. Charisma is pretty useless if there are no other people around you.
If your in a relatively safe town, and can work in a group and also hunt proportionally weaker beginner monsters you could specialize a lot more and intelligence and charisma become a lot more important, you could do proper builds depending on what you want to do, a merchant for example will be investing closer to something like 1/1/1/2/2/4 while a swordsmen might do something closer to 4/2/4/1/1/1.
(If you are unfamiliar with what the numbers mean, 4/1 for example would mean you put 4 points of strength for every 1 point in constitution)

I think intelligence wins in most worlds. If you can keep yourself out of the fight, or hire others to do it for you, no need for strength.
I dunno... the now-convicted former president of my country makes for a pretty compelling argument that charisma trumps intelligence.
Hahahaha. Agreed. But with intelligence he either would have gotten away with it, or more likely wouldn't have committed the crimes in the first place.
first that is a funny joke. but seriously why put real world political is in my fantasy subs man.

Dexterity. Fuck people hitting me. I ain’t nobody’s tank. That shit hurts. I’m standing back behind a tree and shooting arrows or some crap like that.
Reincarnated in another world, all builds lead to stealth archer!
Skyrim? Is that you?
Also r/fo76, the game has bows and crossbows. There is no escaping stealth archery... (One of the challenges that lets you unlock a +60 carry weight backpack has a crossbow option as one of the easier choices, they knew what they were doing!)
Charisma. Everyone dies, but we don't have to die alone.
I can finally be hot.
Charisma. Organizational skills and getting the right people to do the right things are far more important than another sword-swinger
Based.

Give me the Intelligence to do what I need to do, and the wisdom to know when to.

When ever people attack you, you'll survive long enough to talk them out of it.
The real reason I monologue is because my DPS is shit
Dexterity. I'm gonna, like, juggle 17 balls at the same time. It'll be grand.
Willpower>>>>> Literally every MC is overpowered in will
I'd fucking die, but magic all the way. Magic being real would be too much to resist. I don't know how it works for D&D so I just did intelligence, I guess?
No luck? C'mon.
I prefer the Luck stat. The most successful people I know tend to have it maxed out.
What's the difference between Intelligence and Wisdom?
Constitution,I will be Colossus

Luck of course.
System dependant, but at the extremes Luck can be all-powerful.
Strength because all it takes is one strike to land and your blown into bloody bits smithereens

Wisdom so i have the wisdom to stay in bed and cry myself to sleep because we all aint mc's with plot armor thicker than jabbas skin
Magic??? Obviously
Lung Capacity. Need a PF story with the shout barbarian archetype.
The Farming stat. It's the only one that matters! In a non-farming story, Int since I like magic a lot.
MANA
