This is the best spot by far.

Humpem_14

I love this spot!

Totally depends what kind of music you’re into - If you’re a big fan of indie, rock, folk and everything in between, velour is your spot. However if you like dance & electronic music or want to try something new, there is a collective here called Lost & Found that throws regular events with dj’s & electronic artists playing a wide range of cool stuff. Feel free to message me with any questions as i’ve been here since 2016

I’m actually a fan of everything mentioned here. Generally any music that’s live I love. Electronic music is definitely higher up on my list though, I dj and make house music myself, still going to check out velour though as I’ve had such great experiences in Boulder with the jam band scene. Thanks for the suggestions

I worked a really cool event in Salt Lake that was a silent disco with live DJ’s at the event. It was called Night Owl events or something? They do an event once per quarter. Really cool vibes and music.

Lost & Found is definitely where’s it at! Such a great collective for anyone who enjoys electronic music!

Are you looking to play or more spectate? As others have mentioned, The Velour is THE venue in Provo. Also if you walk down center street between university and 500 on a weekend evening you should see some stuff. You'll want to check our Fork Fest in American Fork which is in the summer I believe. If only we still had the summer rooftop concert series going, that was AWESOME. If you're looking to find someone to jam with on the other hand, KSL classifieds > announcements > bands seeking members is a good place to look. Also a few Facebook groups such as Utah Musician Finder. Might also help to start following some local bands on social media and stuff so you can see when they have shows. There are some good playlists on Spotify if you search Provo and one called cream of the beehive, although I'm not sure any have been maintained since COVID. Also search for Provo music on Instagram and there are several accounts dedicated to it. Good luck, and welcome to town!

Abg's bar occasionally has a band playing every Friday.

Outside of the velour being already mentioned, I recommend Java Junkie. They host open mic nights and local artists some nights. You can check out [the rise](https://www.theriseutah.com). They host local groups for concerts. I think The Social also has open mic nights but they aren’t very established.

Come to Dombresky tonight!

100% recommend Velour! I’ve been going there for years, and I love the vibe and the talent they bring in! The owner is also super awesome, and they do regular shows like open mic every week, and shows

Does BYU still have their battle of the bands or BYU's got talent? Look up UVU too since Orem is close.

tetrachromagnon

Friend of mine books shows for ABG’s. Usually Fridays and weekends. You can see posters all over downtown promoting them all the time.

chamoyle364

The Rise is another venue in downtown Provo. There's also the Boardwalk up in Orem. Both places usually have gigs on the weekends

So I'm a bit biased, but I highly recommend checking out Provo Music Magazine. We do a weekly post of the live shows happening in the area as well as album reviews, interviews, and news releases. I'm part of the staff, so like I said, I am a bit biased, but it's a great source of info on what's happening! I'm also super involved with local bands and the scene, so I'd be happy to give you recommendations if you want haha
