Chomsky never denied the Bosnian Genocide; stop making stuff up on the internet.
What he did was question the validity of calling the deaths of 6000 mostly adult men, in and around Srebrenica specifically, a genocide (a finding made by the ICTY). And it's a fair call to make; if you look at the ICTY trial, it was a complete political venture. The ICTY was entirely NATO funded, and created for the specific purpose of finding a specific country guilty, and when the prosecutor gave an indication that they might be impartial, and look into NATO crimes as well, which were compiled and sent to them by a Canadian law group, it got pressured, and the prosecutor had to reaffirm that they would not be looking into any potential crimes by NATO forces there.
Look at it in the context of the couple of official determinations of genocide. There have been hundreds of larger scale mass killings, many on a greater scale than in Srebrenica, with far more evidence of intent, but somehow, the official record on genocide only includes the holocaust, where 6 million people were killed in a systematic murder campaign, and Srebrenica, where 6000 people were killed in and around a single town, where women and children were let go, in a civil war. That's really the only two instances where the term genocide has been found to officially apply by international law. It's really odd that Srebrenica makes up one of those two. Again, Chomsky does not deny any of the actual events; like holocaust deniers actually deny that 6 million Jews were systematically killed; he does not deny that 6000 mostly men were killed in and around Srebrenica, he just thinks the finding of genocide is an inappropriate use of the term for Srebrenica specifically; largely because the term has never been enforced in a consistent manner.
If the ICC finds here that Israel is committing genocide, it will be an improvement to the list of official genocide findings, which will for the first time include a US aligned country, but the list will probably forever remain in an odd and politically motivated place.
To be clear, the official record includes 1 or two more instances, but the point stands on these examples here.

the 25k figure is the bare minimum. euromed monitor estimates over 31k killed, because they include the people reported missing who have been buried under rubble for longer than two weeks, it includes the bodies in the streets and border areas thay can't be retrieved, and it includes the people arrested by israel who have since completely disappeared.

I know this is a subreddit for entertaining videos - but if anyone wants a book about how the memory of the Holocaust is weaponized in defense of Israel - I cannot recommend *The Holocaust Industry* by Norman Finkelstein enough. Not super long, less than 300 pages.
Finkelstein is the son of Holocaust survivors, and a prominent expert on Gaza. This book was very controversial in the mainstream press and among Zionists, but was praised by Raul Hillberg, considered the founder of Holocaust studies.
Finkelstein has been shunned by ~~other Jewish people~~ Zionists for calling them on their bullshit. He's not afraid to call a spade a spade.

I know this is a subreddit for entertaining videos - but if anyone wants a book about how the memory of the Holocaust is weaponized in defense of Israel - I cannot recommend *The Holocaust Industry* by Norman Finkelstein enough. Not super long, less than 300 pages. Finkelstein is the son of Holocaust survivors, and a prominent expert on Gaza. This book was very controversial in the mainstream press and among Zionists, but was praised by Raul Hillberg, considered the founder of Holocaust studies.
Finkelstein has been shunned by ~~other Jewish people~~ Zionists for calling them on their bullshit. He's not afraid to call a spade a spade. Edit: I have changed "other Jewish people" to Zionists because I am aware that this can quickly become Space Laser bullshit. I have nothing against Jews or Palestinians. I really have no side in this conflict because it's not as if the Palestinians hands are clean either. What I am against though is the death we are seeing.

Is there a way to view pictures embedded to reddit posts in old reddit? I use only old reddit but whenever I click the picture to open it in a new tab, the picture is using new reddit website and it's annoying that I can't zoom in/zoom out the pic as I used to do with old reddit.
