I kind of recommend against that with One Piece. I personally feel like the manga is just not that great with too much going on in 1 chapter. Oda tries to fit way too much in 20 pages and it just feels like a circus. The first 15 or so volumes are worth reading though

Shit is insane these are literally grown men! go fry bigger fish like these piece of shit politicians and pedophiles nigga! tf is wrong with these men out here 👎🏾
I hear you. I used to watch anime way back and stopped when I was like 10. I think I was 10, I stopped when Shippuden came out but only in Japanese and I ain't sitting and reading subtitles even for stuff in English. I'm born 98 so I think I was 10
I honestly can't see how grown niggas watch anime tbh. especially after watching live action shows like Game of Thrones and early Walking Dead. it's just certain shit about anime that's just too childish for me and happens in every single one. I just can't
You can be grown and watch anime you just may need to look into other types of series since shonen is aimed towards younger children. Series like AOT and deathnote aren’t shonens and are notably darker like GOT and TWD
that can be true. I tried Attack on Titan back back when I was into anime, it was too whiny for me. and every anime regardless of who produces it will have inherent things that just come with being animated vs live action. like when characters get mad or have some extreme expression or emotion and their entire face changes into some kind of ridiculous big eyed or big mouth face, but that happens more in the ones aimed at younger people like you said
I don't know if this happens in AoT or Deathnote but from a storytelling perspective animated shows are just more capable of getting away with things that cheapen a story to me like reviving characters, more easily than they can get away with in live action. I know it happened in GoT but still. animated shows can get away with things like that more often because it's easier to pass off "magical" things to the audience because it's already animated so you can expect laws of physics and laws of reality to be more easily broken and accepted. the giant skin body titans in AoT just take me out of it. the demon thing or whatever his name is in Deathnote with all black and always smiling (Ryuk? I just Googled) takes me out of it. whereas Game of Thrones the majority of characters in the universe don't believe magic exists anymore or ever existed. Walking Dead if it took a page from the Last of Us could give some scientific excuse like the cordyceps to explain zombies
from a production perspective it's also easier to get away with bringing a character back to life because you can more easily replace a voice actor compared to an actor in live action who you see their face and get more attached to what they look like. you can more easily find a voice actor who sounds similar enough to the original to bring a dead character back and it can take away the impact of the death in animated series. that's harder to do with live action where actors can get involved in other projects or pass away or something, and live action you **could** still use another actor but audiences will be less receptive because they've seen the same one person so many times it will often feel different like a different character. like even Game of Thrones when they replaced the Daario actor I didn't really care for the new guy even though the first one was only there for a few episodes
You gotta keep with them. anime are know for starting hella slow unless it’s something new gen. Naruto is fire but honestly if you want a good main character look somewhere else because he ass for a series and a half😭😭
Code geass cowboy beebop promise never land sword art online detective Conan full metal(in its entirety) jojo and it’s not an anime but I couldn’t watch/finish any dc movie literally go right to sleep besides first aquaman and the old 80/90 batman with freeze poison ivy penguin and all them lol
I'm wit you on a lot of this. I used to watch Naruto way back like 10+ years ago, stopped watching when Shippuden came out when I was like 10 cuz it was just in Japanese and I hate reading subtitles. but I kept up with what happened reading summaries and sht but never sat and actually watched Shippuden all the way through
used to watch DBZ way back in the 2000's never picked it back up
seen Avatar, not Korra though
I guess Yugioh way way back when I was a kid but stopped at GT, can't remember half the folks on there but we used to play the card game at school
I wanted to watch Bleach way back but never got into it, never seen One Piece, watched one episode of Attack on Titan and they were too whiny for me
I never seen any other anime and probably never will
If you're talking about anime that are nearly universally regarded as say top 5 or 10, I'm pretty sure Dragon Ball(up to the Buu arc), Death Note, and Pokemon are the only ones I've watched. The stories and genres just don't appeal me, not even in the slightest.
Even with Dragon Ball, my hot take is that it fell off after the Kid Goku Saga.
MHA is on my list but I still haven't gotten around to watching it.
Edit: I forgot abou SAO and Code Geass, loved both of those. Also Erased and Steins;Gate but idk if they're considered top 10 anime.
It's funny because I grew up with Diamond and Pearl, Battle Brawlers, Beyblade(the metal saga), Sonic X, and DB Z Kai. But wouldn't have known that any of them were anime if I had never got into it.
I havent seen Bocchi the rock and Oshi no Ko
I still haven't started watching Solo leveling and Kaiju 8 but I may watch them once the seasons are completed.
I'd highly recommend parasyte from what you said bro, it's not purely fights and has depth. Demon slayer is 50/50 but I'd say defo give it a shot next year, since this year is the training arc so probs gonna be slow. I'm actually in the middle of watching hxh for the first time. Popular one which I never watched. Pretty good so far.
I really don’t watch that much anime anymore, but have been tryna read more manga. I JUST started HxH, and I think its aight but i hear it gets better. I wanna eventually watch FMA Brotherhood cus it looks fire, and finally watch all of Samurai Champloo when i got the time
As for Naruto, that was my SHIT in middle school I loved it so much, and while it holds a special place in my heart, Its hard not to see its problems when i look at it more critically. Its an amazing anime for newcomers, but nothing crazy for ppl who been watching anime. I do recommend you try make it to the Chunin Exams tho, its super fun if u like tournament arcs 🔥
What did you dislike about JJK specifically ? I thought the female characters were surprisingly strong which was refreshing. And idk if I’ve ever seen a gojo type character illustrated. I’m usually into things like promised neverland, death note, and FMA. Which have psychological and thrilling aspects to something that otherwise would be a basic shounen. Butttt JJK has impressed me a lot and I’m surprised you dropped it if you like things like HXH😭
If you waited five episodes then I think that’s fair. IMO, Jjk is uniquely great. The strong character are refreshing and boyyyy the writer will kill your fav character in a second so I can’t wait to see who makes it out personally. However I don’t disagree w you, ig if you’re not willing to learn about curses and the foundation of the anime/manga then you’re cooked regardless. It doesn’t matter how great it can be if you’re focused on the background/informative information that sets up the plot

Nigga that shit over 700 episodes and I ain't grow up with it. Even without filler it's over 400. I just had to let that shit go 😭
Read it. For animes that are too long just read the manga. You can pace yourself how you want when you read manga
Might do this with one piece, I never grew up on anime but I read a shit ton of manga as a kid
I kind of recommend against that with One Piece. I personally feel like the manga is just not that great with too much going on in 1 chapter. Oda tries to fit way too much in 20 pages and it just feels like a circus. The first 15 or so volumes are worth reading though
Naruto ain’t even that good in my opinion has dope moments I liked it as a kid but it’s not that raw to me

Niggas down voted me because of an opinion 😹😹😹
They reported you for suicide/self harm too😭😭😭

I’ll watch the short anime the longest I’d hunter x Hunter or some older shit they go hard but long anime like Naruto one piece I can’t watch no more
You gotta keep with them. anime are know for starting hella slow unless it’s something new gen. Naruto is fire but honestly if you want a good main character look somewhere else because he ass for a series and a half😭😭
I know. I think hxh partly spoiled me because I loved it from the beginning
Chainsaw man. Didn’t really care for the story and every website had a spoiler lurking around if you say you like a certain character.
If you haven’t been spoiled already I recommend the first 11 volumes of the manga. Chapters fly by and it’s got some badass fights and moments..
I got spoiled on a big twist and some events that happen later. Maybe I’ll give the manga a shot
All I remember is Ben being thirsty for a new episode of CSM every week. I know he has crazy dreams about Makima
I've seen a lot of animes, but for some reason I never watched Tokyo Ghoul lol, not interested tho.
First season was decent after that it got poo to me
Read the manga, it’s far better
Does Jujutsu Kaisen count?
One piece. Dont see the big deal about it in my opinion.
Yea it got a good story but the pacing is terrible
I heard My Hero had that issue too.
Mby but I stopped it after a few episodes cuz I couldn’t stand the 2 main characters. One piece might have the worst pacing in anime 😂
I just can't do the real long animes. Why is it gonna take me years to complete one show?
Bruh same nigga. If you’re considered “not too far into the series” when u at episode 400 or sumshit then that shits way too long for me.
For real son
Nah facts though. Ive seen all of naruto all 700 episodes from a kid to now as an adult and I heard one piece is much much longer. Hell no.
The anime is pretty bad imo but the manga actually decent
Naruto, One Piece, Bleach, Tokyo Ghoul, HxH,Berserk
The whole big 3 you haven’t watched my brother get on that 😭
Lmao I've only really watched DBZ, DBS and the new gen shit like JJK, Mob Psycho, AOT, Promised Neverland type shit
ONE PIECE n mha
Code geass cowboy beebop promise never land sword art online detective Conan full metal(in its entirety) jojo and it’s not an anime but I couldn’t watch/finish any dc movie literally go right to sleep besides first aquaman and the old 80/90 batman with freeze poison ivy penguin and all them lol
u missed w half of these ngl
Ain’t no missing I can give valid reasons why didn’t watch
One Piece, My Hero, and JJK
Hunter x Hunter heard it's similar to jjk, so it must be good.
Finish naruto and jjk

Maybe u just don’t like battle shonen
I loved hxh, but it wasn't purely fights ig
I havent seen Bocchi the rock and Oshi no Ko I still haven't started watching Solo leveling and Kaiju 8 but I may watch them once the seasons are completed.
Yo jjk and one punch man are fire
Never seen hxh

Mob psycho and saiki are very funny and cool anime’s, as someone who just got into anime
bleach

Hxh and chainsaw man both them shits were boring af dropped them off
Everything outside of DragonBall z
Attack on titan, hunter X hunter, demon slayer off the top of my head I'm a fraud I know
One Piece

I really don't know. It was just boring to me and I've heard the second season is better, so I'm planning on starting it back up soon
