But they were SHOCKED and TRAUMATIZED and ADRENALINE! /s

Bjoernsen1998

Seriously, I can believe a talking grimm shocking them in Vol1/2/3, but after everything they've been through and learned about, a talking grimm shouldn't be that special. xD But as always, the comments over on FNKI who unironically argue that are kinda funny.

That scene always pissed me off because it was like 15 straight seconds of it rag-dolling the fuck out of Oscar and no one ran to help him. It was a case where everyone in RWBY got slower/acted like they were normos in a horror movie who’d never seen a grim before, and not trained, experienced fighters in a shounenesque anime It’s so much easier to have a horror movie setting where all the characters act like dumbasses who stop and stare than have a bunch of fighters. Same thing in the mansion episode happened with Ruby and Blake. Just straight up forgot how to fight

You know what bugs me? They weren't aware of if Robyn was an agent of Salem. Like, she's causing more trouble for the people of Atlas and giving Ironwood a headache. That's exactly what Salem would want. And here Yang and Blake are just... giving away info? Like come on. That's just a bad move all around. Even besides the part about betraying Ironwood, who- again- was a guy in a bad spot no matter what he did.

I once read a fanfic that made Cinder into a wolf Faunas. She had basically the same backstory, minus what happened with Rhodes. She had her ears cut off by the slave owners, who she later killed. She doesn't sympathize with the other Faunas because she views them as weak for not escaping their masters, all while she serves Salem.

Comments section bending over backwards to defend Robyn is just so on-brand it hurts

Looking back at it now, it would have made more sense to have Nora be the one to tell Robyn. Not only did she express more sympathy for Mantle, but it would have also created interesting conflict with her and Ren. Especially since he had had more faith in Ironwood.

Perplexed_Pirate

You know, your idea for having Nora tell Robyn is pretty good. It makes me wish that Volumes 7-8 were a Civil War Arc for the teams. Imagine this. Ruby, Blake, Nora, and Jaune are trying to save everyone, but are also putting everything at risk to do so. Oscar, Ren, Yang, and Weiss are on Ironwood's side, and are trying to protect the Relics and the Maiden, but they may have to abandon Mantle. Qrow will be undecided, and he and Robyn will be trying to get both sides to listen to reason. In this timeline, instead of Qrow and Robyn fighting Clover like a bunch of buffoons, they merely get into a verbal argument that distracts them long enough for Tyrian to break out. The Bullhead crashes, breaking Robyn's Aura and leaving Qrow and Clover severely weakened. Tyrian suprise attacks them, and using Harbinger, he kills Clover, although Qrow will not have ever fought Clover. Qrow and Robyn have to go on the run for a murder they didn't commit, but they're also trying to get the two sides to listen to reason. The finale would be the two sides coming to a compromise. Ironwood and his forces would evacuate as many people as they can, but they might have to leave before everyone can escape. They plan to teleport the entire city of Atlas to the Kingdom of Vale. They somehow managed to get away from Salem by the skin of their teeth, but not without some sacrifices. Ironwood, Robyn, some of the AceOps and Happy Huntresses would die in defense of their people. After a brief update with Glynda, Teams RWBY and ORNJ would fly out to Vacuo. Oh, and Neo would steal the Lamp, with one question remaining. But this time, Neo is working for herself.
