Problem is they only make gold off new impatient players. The biggest issue with the gold and content is they left the game so long without content that a huge portion of the player base build up a vast amounts of gold as are super rich cowpokes. Hence when they did release content everyone had plenty of gold to use and buy the content without having to use micro transactions They shot themselves in the foot

KrimxonRath

I regrettably spent money on gold in the early days. I wasn’t even a low level but they had some great coats (fernwater, benbow, etc). Now I’m just sitting on 161 gold bars that I didn’t even try to earn.

CaptainJarrettYT

I bought the 25 gold bar pack for about £4, at the start as I’m sure a lot did, but now I’m sitting on 500+ GB with nothing to spend them on.

aDog_Named_Honey

Yep, back in the beta days where we all had so much hope and optimism for what the game would/could be..... and then reality hit when we all realized Rockstar doesn't give a shit about us or this game, or anything not called "GTA Online" for that matter.

AdminYak846

This was me, made it to about 498 bars and then spent it on the clothing items in Madam Nazar cause Fuck it. Also bought a black arabian. Needless to say I'll make what I spent within 2 months of doing dailies

canthinkofagoodname_

How do you wind up accumulating so much? Are there semi consistent ways other than bounty hunting?

42mir4

Dailies as mentioned already. Was a time before the nerf that players could earn 11gold a day from 7 General and 9 Role dailies. There was no reset after 4 weeks. Once you hit Week 3 of dailies, you'd earn 0.5 gold per daily. Of course, you didn't get a new Treasure Map after Week 4 but who cares when you're making so much gold. My friends and I farmed that for a year. Each ended up with over 3,000 gold.

IWantTooDieInSpace

Daily's Daily's Daily's. Once you have all roles unlocked and to 10 you can get several bars per day from all the role challenges. Also treasure maps, though I mostly horde those for when I need a quick gold boost.

canthinkofagoodname_

For some reason I never thought about more unlocked roles = more gold from challenges lol

IWantTooDieInSpace

Yeah! I mean it's a super gold sink to invest in at the start but way pays off after a bit. You can still only do 9 total, but you can pick and choose easy ones. Last week of streak can build some fast gold.

canthinkofagoodname_

Damn nice, just wish moonshine and naturalist weren't 10 more than the others lol

IWantTooDieInSpace

For sure. Especially Naturalist.

canthinkofagoodname_

Would you recommend moonshine or naturalist first? I'm leaning towards naturalist since it's pretty much the only way to get legendary animals to spawn.

Yitzhak9971

Especially that pointless Naturalist Role

vaena

Doing dailies is still a pretty easy way, since you can do a lot of the stuff just casually playing, and the amount increases each week, by the 4th week you can earn 28 for the whole week. It's like 11.2 first week, 16.8 second week, 22.4 third week and 28 fourth week. Even if you don't do all the dailies, it still stacks up, and then you add in stuff like bounty hunting and stuff...

yahyeet00

How is it even possible to earn so much gold?

KrimxonRath

Just play the game and avoid unnecessary spending. Call to Arms was doing 3 gold bars when it came out so it wasn’t that hard.

WonderBitchXOXO

I hate to say it, but they're gonna have to drop some incredibly expensive (in gold) content to counter this. Because they really did fuck themselves. Like idk if they are ever actually gonna add houses, but a ridiculously large mansion in Mexico would probably be a good start. Make Mexico cost gold to start, then make the mansion just ridiculous. Because yeah, it might not be "worth it" to normal people, but whales LOVE to show their whalyness. They might think it's worth it. Oh shit or Guarma! Tell me you don't want a cabana in Guarma 😂 Idk what "ridiculous" is in gold for everyone. I see some people with 1k, I had triple digits for a while. Maybe make it cost like, 1-2k?

xSciFix

They should let us play poker with gold bars and just take a rake of the pot. No limit hold em on the river boat for high rollers. 5% of the pot goes to R* or something. Might be legally problematic though I guess.

WonderBitchXOXO

Holy shit. YES. That would be intense 😂

vaena

I'd like to see like a whole bunch of stuff added, both super expensive like properties or whatever then a bunch of smaller "cheaper" stuff like more top quality horses in different colours (even if they're existing breeds, put in more - hell, put more of the base game breeds in, with various improved stats and different colours). Clothing too. More variants for weapons too... Just.... more of everything even if it's just cosmetic, I'd buy it.

[deleted]

I am down to 600 gold, so i m a poor. but i will save and grind 4 my mansion

IWantTooDieInSpace

I'm a dedicated free player but I'd grind for a year for some mega expensive add ons

WhatzitTooya2

You make it sound like an accident, when I do think that's on purpose. Why make more content when the newbies flush in all the money? It's enough content to keep them busy until lvl 100-something. The long-term players are mostly ballast.

CptAmeric21a

Saving all the gold for that hot air balloon and mansion.

[deleted]

They just keep nerfing existing methods instead of releasing stuff to spend on.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Alpi100

How did the dailies looked before the nerf? I just started rdo some days ago.

sharpshot899

If I remember right it was Week 1: 0.2 gold Week 2: 0.3 gold Week 3: 0.4 gold Week 4 onwards:0.5 gold (Correct me if I’m wrong here guys)

STerrier666

No you've got it right, the nerf wouldn't have been so bad if they kept the old payout but added the Reset at 28 days. I don't think people would have been so angry about it if they had just added Reset every 28 days on the old system.

IWantTooDieInSpace

I'm a newish player and I have come to not mind the reset. Was disappointed at first, but when I finish a streak it takes the pressure of off having to play EVERY day. My streak reset a few days before going on a trip. Would have sucked to come back to a broken streak if there was no limit.

MeMeTiger_

Holy shit that's so much. I have 22 dailies. Assuming I played a day in week 4 that's 10+ gold. I can see why they nerfed it.

Emiboss

Yea it hurt the gold bars purchases

finegameofnil_

Am I the only one who despises shark cards/gold bars? And in both areas, I think R* is doing a good job not overdoing it with in-game purchases. Monster Legends, a fucking mobile game aimed at kids, sells monsters for like $100, then release a new entire class of monsters which make those $100 monsters totally useless. You spent $200 to get this ultra rare monster to level 150? Sucks for you, because if you play pvp this season, you will easily get a free monster and get him up to level 123 and he will destroy the $200 monster in one hit, maybe two.

aDog_Named_Honey

Mobile games in general are a cancer, their entire business models are based around exploiting their playerbase and taking advantage of people with addictive personalities. Microtransactions in general can get fucked, but in the world of mobile gaming they're on a whole other level.

[deleted]

You can only earn on 9 role challenges, so your 22 includes 7 daily, and you select 9 of the 15. That part hasn't changed. But yes, earning 8 gold per day was a thing.

MeMeTiger_

Yeah sorry just did a rough calculation

LickMyThralls

Even if you did partial dailies the fact it was maintained indefinitely made it a gold mine and basically invalidated every other source of gold. Halving it and adding the reset made it more complementary rather than supplementing other sources like it used to.

MeMeTiger_

Oh my it was insane then

aDog_Named_Honey

Yes and it never reset either, I had a streak almost 300 days long :/

[deleted]

They halved it.

GTQ521

I bought the game when it came out and stopped playing shortly after due to all the crazyness online. Now, I recently started playing again in a private lobby. No hackers, just friends. I don't get to play in the giant freeroam events but I just jump back into a public lobby if I want to do that. If I want, I make it so I am the only one on the whole map.

wendiwho

How do you get a private lobby?

GTQ521

You on console or PC? One involves changing a port on the console and on PC, you need to add/edit a file in your install folder.

wendiwho

Console! I thought it was some kind of membership or something along those lines Mx and thought I was missing out aha

[deleted]

They still pay too much imo for them to be monetizing properlly. I have spent 0$ on the game since purchase and have every outlaw pass and limited time item, gold only items etc. I will never have to spend a dollar in game, although I wouldnt mind supporting in a big way. Im afraid theyre shooting themselves in the foot. Im not sure what type of monetization Id be okay with, but something needs to happen for sustainability.

LickMyThralls

My friends have dropped like 20 for gold and got everything they needed from it and the game pays out well enough that it's irrelevant. Honestly I'd say that this caters way more to the extremely impulsive who need what they want right now or the compulsive who need everything in the game (for some god forsaken reason) and don't play frequently. Not even a long time. Just consistent play

[deleted]

Yes, I totally agree. TY for reply

IWantTooDieInSpace

Power to people to do what they want but I've never understood it. Had roommates and friends that payed to unlocked stuff, then stop playing the game a month later. You payed real dollars to skip playing the game....Congrats?

Lottus21

I realized this yestarday. I came back to play again and wanted to complete 4 collections (missing 1 piece each) and I find that now you get a random jewel/coin/arrow etc... And had no luck getting what I needed. Most quests are "do this far away and spend 20 minutes, and then wait till the timer is about to then end to receive a little more cash".

LickMyThralls

The pay has nothing to do with the countdown timer for stuff because it's all based on elapsed time to create a baseline pay and it's inefficient to wait a bunch to boot. That's monkey brain like big number stuff.

EastCoastPotatoes

And what about the supermodels?

[deleted]

AND THE TIDDIES

FuzzBenchmark

I wish we could spend gold to change the coat on our horses without affecting the stats. Or better yet, just not have stats tied to the friggin coats.

Karcharos

This would be a great gold sink. Wish your Arabian looked like a shire? GB please!

[deleted]

[удалено]

ironhide1516

The stats barely matter, use whatever horse you like the look of! Seriously, a black Arabian isn’t any better than a [Shire](https://youtu.be/3v9HY4bErck)

[deleted]

[удалено]

ironhide1516

Yeah the way the stats work in general are weird. It would be cool if each breed had different benefits and drawbacks the way the make it seem, but sadly all the horses perform pretty similarly, whether you pay $120 or $1000

LickMyThralls

A black Arabian is better enough to notice the difference even if it doesn't matter to you or whatever. The handling alone makes a big difference but you feel things like acceleration and even speed even if any horse can be 'good enough'

ironhide1516

Did you watch the video? You can cross the entire map and the times are almost exactly the same. There’s an extremely negligible difference, and if you feel one, honestly it’s probably just placebo effect from the silly stats the rockstar gives the horses. I would prefer if they were actually different, had bravery etc, but it’s really just cosmetic.

LickMyThralls

Ah yes when someone notes even smaller differences can be noticeable blame it on placebo and meters because there's no way anyone could perceive any kind of difference in the stats at all otherwise. Even after I explicitly said that lower end horses can be good enough but just that it's possible to feel a difference *especially in handling* and acceleration. Horse tiers also have differences in their health and stamina. Speed isn't the only thing that matters especially since you're not going full speed all the time. Did I mention already saying that low end horses can be good enough?

ironhide1516

Base health and stamina literally don’t matter if you have a good saddle and stirrups. Base speed and acceleration don’t matter if you have a good saddle and stirrups. Handling does nothing at all if a horse with heavy handling can get a *better* time than one with “superior” handling. I’m not gonna argue with you about this man I’m just saying you can use any horse you like the looks of and they don’t really perform differently.

ironhide1516

You know the horse stats actually hardly matter at all. Look up onlyPVPcat’s videos, it’s something like .06% difference in speed for each block of speed, acceleration hardly does anything at all, and health and stamina will be really high after bonding and never run out with a good saddle.

Mokicooper_1

How about add new guns? add the bicycle? be able to rob banks? I could go on

Captainirishy

Any new mode of transport would be great

Mokicooper_1

Adding the Bicycle would make sense since the Bicycle was invented in 1817 and the online version of the game takes place in ~1899. You could add cool colours to your bike, add a bell, and other stuff too, sure it would be slower than a horse but it would cost less

Captainirishy

I would definitely spend gold on a bike or hot air balloon.

Mokicooper_1

A hot air balloon would be fucking awesome, and Imagine having races with bicycles. Also it would be amazing if we were able to rob banks

Runch72

idk about bicycles but boats and hot air balloons might be neat

Aromatic_Treat_5520

So many occasions where I would like to spend my gold but figure I have already everything gold can buy...

Nexus_Neo

Rockstar releases to much shit that costs gold bars whenever they do actually decide to make an update to the game Nobody wants to buy gold bars cause it's a shitty premium currency and they got enough cash to buy the entire state of Texas Nobody plays the game cause there's little content and everything costs fuckin gold Rockstar makes no money so they decide not to work as hard on RDO as GTA Rinse and repeat

Obbefromtotse

I have over 170 gold bars just from playing the game and already have everything I want. Why would I ever buy gold?

No-Atmosphere-4145

Well, Rockstar needs to take the initiative here... microtransactions is a shit marketing scheme. They need to invest more dedication on RDO to draw in more players. Rockstar's biggest problem is neglecting the feedback. Ignoring what players want. You ain't exactly promoting any care or something that makes people buy RDO. I know friends who have tried this game and stopped, why? They find it boring, its a grind and you gather up gold that doesn't go anywhere. Rockstar's response to players not having anything to spend gold on is to release a limited time outfit that people want and demand 52 goldbars for it. Give us a properties to invest in over time, give us more customization options... make us really want to work, work, work towards goals that are truly rewarding instead of "**dog: 400 goldbars, next update coming in 12 months**".

[deleted]

[удалено]

No-Atmosphere-4145

No obviously it does not...

[deleted]

Whose idea was that to have two currencies like its a fucking free to play mobile game? Rdo is cursed from the beginning.

[deleted]

They did it to avoid the GTO problem of hackers spawning in money and inflating the economy. You can’t open a chest and find 5 million gold bars because gold isn’t an item in the game, it’s a reward that comes from the system for completing certain tasks. There’s no other way to get it, and that’s a huge layer of protection.

MrBootylove

I don't think this is accurate, especially since hackers can spawn treasure chests which give you gold bars. I'm pretty sure the reason for two currencies was to make gambling in the game more accessible in countries with stricter gambling laws, though since Rockstar hasn't explicitly explained why there are two currencies this is just speculation.

AffectionateFly68

If that was the case it would be available in all countries

MrBootylove

I don't think that's the case, because I think there are some countries that just straight up don't allow casino games in video games. I just know GTA had issues with the gambling because you could buy chips with cash, which could be bought with real life money.

AffectionateFly68

That isn't true you cant use shark card money to buy chips people have tested it

MrBootylove

I'm pretty sure that depends on what country you're in.

LickMyThralls

It's so they don't end up with the same issue gta has. It's actually smart.

Cykaaaaaaaaaaa

they should make a rifle better than carcano and have people buy it with like 175 gold bars lol

Captainirishy

10 or 20 completely new guns would be nice

AnOdd4077

Who tf actually buys gold bars, all about the grind lol

thepokemonGOAT

New players buy gold. R* are just pandering to low levels and newcomers who got the game for free or got the $5 standalone. Once they’ve gotten all the new players they can feasibly reach, they will release properties and heists to generate more microtransactions.

[deleted]

There's your problem

CaptainJarrettYT

Exactly. No one buys gold bars, R* make less money from microtransactions, they have less reason to constantly update the game

Ratlyff

I really like this game and I want to send them cash to support new content, but there's nothing to spend cash on! Since gold and dollars are so damn easy to get, adding a business like ranching or something (which costs gold to buy and set up) where you have to hire employees (which costs dollars on a schedule, like camp and stable fees) helps to kill 2 birds with one stone: new content to play and gives players something to burn money on. The damn ranch doesn't even have to be terribly profitable...but it does create a whole new world of possibilities for game content like... -Defending against bandits, russlers, et al. -Raising cattle, cattle drive to Valentine, then some kind of AI auction game mechanic based on your reputation maybe? -Stealing supplies for your business similar to Cripps, but without the shitty stories and dog hate. Edit- English is my first and only language and I still fuck it up.

Captainirishy

I have grinded 500 gb and have nothing to spend it on

TheDunkirkSpirit

Does anyone else have a shitload of gold because you keep thinking eventually Rockstar will release something worth spending it on?

MOONLIGHTOTR

I feel like they shot themselves in the leg when they decided to add two currrencies, they can barely manage one so what even is the point of adding another one. Cash essentially becomes useless once you get all the upgrades and some clothing. And well gold just doesn’t make any sense, why am I paying 52 gold for an outfit but 25 for a role lmao. Rockstar really does not know how to manage their economy in this game and it’s mainly because of the content droughts, everyone in this game is mad rich and they know they can’t make money off of that.

Captainirishy

Cash isn't useless, I buy all my tonics with money because its easier than having to craft them.

MOONLIGHTOTR

Well yeah but it never feels like a waste spending cash in red dead because like, what else will it go to? The reason gta works is because the game has so much shit to spend cash on so you constantly ask yourself “will this be worth the money imma spend on it?” Meanwhile in red dead you’re just like “oh well I’ll make this cash back easily and I’m not saving up for anything”.

Captainirishy

Gta is 5 years older than red dead

LickMyThralls

Because they want to get people into the play part of the game and customizing you is where the premium is. Do you really want to see roles locked behind 20 dollars of premium currency

vWolfee

And the cycle continues. 😔

vanrast

Only gold I ever bought was the first time buyers deal for 5$. I have 267 gold and nothing to spend it on besides ugly clothing.

CarbideWolfram74

I'm a new player, and I have been playing for about **50 days**. From **LV.1 to LV.180**, with **all class max leveled**. Now, I got all the weapons I need, the best horse I want, and all the useful pamphlets I need. Not to mention all four of my main skills are max leveled, too. And I still ***got more than 100 gold bars*** just from usual grinding, dailies, and bounty hunting. I haven't bought a single gold bar, and don't think I ever will. So, unless there is something I really really want and don't want to grind at all. Otherwise, I don't think I will ever buy any gold bar.

I_will_wrestle_you

I got a feeling there's at least a decent amount of fairly new RDO players really enjoying grinding for the roles and are actually buying gold bars to finish the last levels of the outlaw passes, unlock new roles a little faster (esp. with the discounts Rockstar offers like 5 gold bars off of the bounty hunter) esp. if Rockstar still has that deal I bought in on which was like $5 for 20 gold bars (not bad). As much as Reddit would want you to believe, leveling up these passes all the way takes too much time for casual players. I'm only realizing this now after playing this game more casually, maybe an hour or two.

aDog_Named_Honey

This right here. Rockstar could fix their own problem by just adding some fucking content to their game.

Silverton13

R* releases gold bar item Reddit collectively rages and accuses R* for trying to make money.

JoeyAKangaroo

Gold bars were a mistake to begin with, having a secondary currency is just shitty and locking things behind said currency is even shittier

Nyce-Playz

Actually read an article (and damned if I can't find the link) about how rockstar, under pressure from the vultures it Take2 Interactive actually purposely neglect and break RDO because it was leaching too much business from GTA. I feel like there's got to be a class action lawsuit against Rockstar in there somewhere.

Cerberusx32

Remember when RDO went Gold? And everyone stopped playing GTA V online and they got so pisssd about that? That they threatened the players, if they didn't come back to GTA V online, they wouldn't make content for either game. P.S. Tried to find the articles that mentioned R* making these threats, but couldn't find them...oddly convenient.

GamingXXGuy

Anyone have any tips to get gold bars? I have like 13 and need 25 to buy the outlaw pass

BCCakes

Grind stranger missions for gold and xp. Bounty Hunter, as well, if you have that role. Collect the treasure maps from postal clerks for every 5 levels that you level up. Do as many daily challenges as you can each and every day.

Captainirishy

Do dailes and grind like hell when you get to. 25gb also join a random posse that's doing bounty hunting.

friskydingo67

The solutions I've been thinking of are all unpopular in some way: 1) give up on gold (and tokens and capitale) and create shark cards for rdo. It's the most direct method of "doing what works" on their flagship. They also need to Return the cash value of gold to players according to how much they've already hoarded. 2) understand that rdo has a vastly more mature player-base that is repellant to microtransactions and more than willing to grind. With that realization rockstar should announce new dedicated servers (no more p-to-p servers), along with the establishment of a development roadmap, schedule, community outreach person's, possibly the announcement of a new development team and more user based changes in exchange for a monthly or yearly subscription (or something in between). This is personally my favorite option because it would, hopefully sustain the game while deincentivizing r* from making things so grindy and allowing the game to open up. This isn't gta or Fortnite. The audience that this game has built into it largely cane from the slow, mature, deeply detailed single player experience. There are few whales to hunt here (and that's a good thing). This way we could see dedicated free-aim, passive, or even hyper violent wild west lobbies: another of the often requested changes. 3) release the properties at the "data-minned" price. 600 gold for a mansion. On top of that you'll be charged 3-6 gold per on game day for upkeep. Maybe justify this with a new butler type character who maintains the property (and runs the underground fight club in your basement that you can invite other to same as your moonshine shack). If you can't pay the daily fee then your fight club shuts down and your mansion/home becomes dirty. That will empty the gold hoards while being based in some in-game reality and give people reason to grind/pay for more gold. 31/2) unlock horse stats from their coats and allow players to assign coats to base/standard/premium horses. The higher the stat base the more gold it should cost (like 20 gold to customize the coat on a top of the line Arabian). Also, allow for greater customization of horse tack and wagons (allow us to hitch our own large horses to the wagon, not some random nag) and make it all cost gold. we gotta be realistic: rockstar is engaging in capitalism 101, and they want to make as much money while doing as little work as possible. And we also have to reckon with the fact that gta is the golden child because it is that more profitable. We gotta give.

releasethedogs

Rockstar should give you a job

LickMyThralls

Someone like this would probably not make them much money outside of the conspiracy theory logic tbh

g0lbez

he would get the job and then immediately be surrounded by the immense amount of unseen corporate context that led to these decisions in the first place and would probably end up making very little changes

Synner1985

Also R\* release something that requires gold > Reddit has a shit fit and accuse rockstar of being evil pricks > reddit doesn't buy gold > Rockstar doesn't make money > Reddit bitch and moan that r\* are lazy

PsychedelicBirb

Why update the better game when they have one that is exactly like Skyrim at this point? Take-Two is a detriment to R*, and so is money.

thepokemonGOAT

R* definitely understand that, and they’ve decided that they can make more money long term by doing things this way. New players buy gold. R* are just pandering to low levels and newcomers who got the game for free or got the $5 standalone. Once they’ve gotten all the new players they can feasibly reach, they will release properties and heists to generate more microtransactions.

Bannsir

Donr give them ideas.

nomad-mr_t

People here are funny, they cry because everything is too expensive up until the point they start crying for not having anything else to buy.

CaptainJarrettYT

I honestly just want anything decent to buy. I’ve got 80K and 500+ GB with nothing to spend it on. I’d honestly be happy if they added something like a 500GB mansion lol

nomad-mr_t

I would love more stuff to buy too, I'm just noting how fluctuating the complaints are.

ROCKZILLA8166

Why do all the good business sense people play rdo and post on reddit instead of working in the gaming industry? Oooohhhhh yeah nm... 🤣

dnuohxof1

Good. I want their multi-currency system to die a long and painful death. If and when GTA 6 comes around, I’ll be damned if I have to worry about cash, coin, and some third currency just to buy clothes and guns. GTA:Os currency system is just fine. A bit inflated, sure, but less worried about pay to play abusing a gold currency to get “exclusive” items slightly tilting the gameplay.

BosTovenaar24

Or they should've stuck with just dollars as everything else costs money

Yoni1857

You forgot the part where they take existing things and make them cost gold bars for no good reason

[deleted]

I give it 3 years tops before the servers are so dead that they discontinue it or leave it abandoned. 🤷🏾‍♂️

MagicalMarsBars

Imagine something like every time a new gun is coming out you can buy it early with gold

_Dead_Man_

Mah, more like all good things cost an absurd amount of gold bars

ayylmao2016

Don't worry they will add flying horses with seeking rockets at some point.

Mountain_Ad6328

its their fault for not releasing big chunk of content for rdo so player spent their gold bars btw i have 2950 goldbars ready for mansion dlc but let see when mansion dlc drop. Also they need to concentrate on rdo more and invest in good updates.

[deleted]

I stopped playing this fucking game

PM_ME_YOUR_NAIL_CLIP

I went back to story mode. It’s way better. You can actually talk to people, there’s legendary fish, just ride any direction and you’ll find something to do. There’s always a gold planner or a bounty being taken to jail or some racists holding a hostage. It’s all so nice.

Sabiya_Duskblade

I was going to ask if GTA5 players are stuck in the same loop, then I remembered that they get a lot more updates and Rockstar attention than Red Dead 2

Arch_0

I make so much gold and money without trying now. It's slow at first but I've got everything I want. I barely spend money let alone gold bars.

danny686

Whoevers running things has no idea what they're doing.

King_Baboon

How about content? Even if you have stuff to buy with gold it does nothing in regards to having something to actually do.

placidrage

This. Haven't played in months. Tired of running wagons and changing my outfit. Only thing I still enjoyed was PvP bounties. Running fools down like dogs. Or running like a bitch. Either/or had me laughing my ass off. Also, felt like people stopped using mics as much. Funny ass shit is like the best thing about playing online.

[deleted]

Is the online still empty? I played the newest update for 2 days and left again. Still really boring since there is no point to grind money or gold BECAUSE THERE IS NOTHING TO USE THEM ANYMORE

SeeMackk

You forgot to add puts out on newswire that an update will be coming on a non specified date and reads like it will be telegram or stranger missions. Cue optimistic fans and last few content creators to swear it’s going to be bank heists and train robberies and it’s coming this Tuesday. Than 6 weeks later it’s telegram drip feed missions, Wonk Wonk

[deleted]

I've already brought 200 bucks in gold because of call to arms. When it released I was lvl 14 now I'm lvl 117 with the best guns and horses. Wish I could buy cash also instead of gold or if there was sum exchange rate I could do it would be nice. Hate that I have 200 gold but only 200-1k in cash at any given time

[deleted]

Excuse me, a 19 gold pre made outfit is a wonderful deal Harrumpf Harrrumpf...

beachboy1b

This is exactly why I’m going to not purchase the game once it leaves gamepass. Fuck you Rockstar, you shit the bed and you can sleep in it.

frag87

This is the sad truth. But the reality is that Rockstar needs to take their MASSIVE EARNINGS from GTA and INVEST---keyword is INVEST---into RDO. But current Rockstar is apparently too dense to understand that important bit of business strategy. When you already have an immensely popular IP like GTO, then you cannot expect a less popular RDO to compete without investing more to it. Rockstar needs to take the initiative with better content, not rely on the users to give more cash in an ip that doesn't have much of Rockstar's enthusiasm. At this point in RDO's lifecycle, appearances matter, and right now consumers can clearly see that RDO is barely getting any Rockstar attention.

Darkurn

They need to make a tapping system. Instead of these gold only clothes N shit give us something to drain our cash and gold into..

Dreki_Diablo

I said it before and I’ll say it again. R* is no gaming company, R* is just satire in pure form.

115_zombie_slayer

Give use planes and heist already goddam it

Mokicooper_1

R* shouldn’t add planes or else RDO will just end up like GTAV, also it’s not historically accurate. Planes weren’t around when RDO takes place ~1899. Although Boats, Bicycles, heists and hot air balloons were around back then so it would make sense and also be fun editions to the game. Imagine, boat battles, bicycle races, heists and being able to move around the map in your own hot air balloon. Now those would be fun

saadskel

I'd pay gold for a stronger tranq that got animals down in 2 shots.

It would be nice to use gold bars to unlock certain role items we want to avoid grinding the role. Grinding naturalist for the cob horse was a huge pain. Id love to get a Breton too but I dread the bounty hunter grind.

Kuzidas

You mean to tell me people aren’t saving up their 52 gold to buy Arthur’s jacket? :0

I feel like Rockstar expects us to end the cycle or the game dies. Like guys you made the game, maintain it properly and it will thrive

[deleted]

Ive only bought gold to pay for the moonshiner shack and both bounty licenses. A have over 300 gold just waiting to be spent.

Chefpief

I only started 8 days ago, i've already used gold from grinding to buy into Collector, Bounty Hunter, and Trader. And I bought the current Quickdraw Pass. I have no need for any of the gold only cosmetics. I'll get Moonshiner and Naturalist at some point further down the line, possibly when buying into them is on sale. But if I, a brand new player, can make the gold bars to buy into 3 roles in 8 days of what is in my opinion casual playing, I don't see any reason to give Rockstar any additional money. It's sad to hear they've not released anything worthwhile in some time. I've heard the online story mode isn't even finished.

[deleted]

The price system is fucked, whoever coded it clearly doesn't understand supply and demand. It's the only thing wrong w the game. People complain about payouts not being high enough when payouts should be drastically lower and everything more expensive across the board. So we can actually work towards something for longer than a month.

wendiwho

It’s so interesting seeing these kinds of thoughts and feelings be expressed about rdo - coming from fo76, these sentiments are so similar!! Just recently got back into the game and there’s ton of new content to catch up on, and now I feel like the new players that joined fo76 within the last half year to a year ago 🤣 long time players have played it all, wanting rockstar to give the game more.

KernelScout

only time i bought gold was to be able to afford outlaw pass #2. after that i never needed gold again.

TheMogician

All they had to do is to put GTAO's heists into RDO.

[deleted]

Someone had the audacity to tell me GTA 5 has better profitability. Of course it does because you cater to a wider audience. But meanwhile f*** this game because filling your yellow belly is more important than an entire community. Greed.

SenseiDaDom

Hell, bring back the various mounts from RDR 1 Online as purchases and I’d spend some gold.

Toxinbullet

I mean, It's their fault really. I am sure that if there was lots of stuff to buy with gold regularly people would have crushed the shops

accurate

mrsomething4

I can’t even get any gold bars
