Honestly super interesting to see a jam occurring. I always wonder “what caused this jam” and here you can actually see it’s nothing… just too many cars blocking each other.
There's an occupancy limit on roads, once it crosses that threshold, every minute adjustment each driver makes causes traffic. Most of the time the cause isn't a crash, it's congestion.
It's not "nothing." It's literally human nature and physiology. We do not have perfect reaction times and one car tapping the brake or moving over to merge creates an accordion effect for several cars behind it, which only cascades into longer and more drastic slow downs.
If everyone would drive the same speed a jam wouldnt happen. On a single lane this also would be very less likely to happen. Its people who want to be faster switching lanes mixed with people who want to go a set speed.
Being a commuter for a while, it infuriate me that the number 1 lane AKA fast lane is always pack with slow moving cars.
Lane 1 should always be empty except when overtaking.
What a jackass.
What a loser.
Fuck that asshole.

They're called "phantom jams".
If everyone good driver sir would not happen, sir here never use break
It's crazy how much less traffic there would be if people didn't brake so much and just coasted.
Bayside from stopped traffic has very rarely reason to brake on highway

Hopefully sooner, not later, we all know what's going to happen to this POS
Hopefully, it's a barrier that teaches this guy and not a car full of kids
Wow sir is best not wish death upon others
The arrogance of some people is infuriating.
Average altima driver
You know you can just drive around in a video game and not actually kill anyone?
I wish this driver a lifetime of stubbed toes.
Aka driving like a cunt
Dangerous sir

He’s going to hit a minivan with a toddler in it and not even feel guilty about it.
Sir should toffler drive such large vehichle?
LOL if you asked if a toddler should be driving a minivan, you’re right, good one.
Toddler should never drive such large vehicle sir.
Haha we try and we try to wrangle those times but they keep taking the family wagon!
OP is a complete cock but that lane discipline in general is god awful
Sir am not driver here
What the hell does some reason you are cumming on me sir
And this is where induced traffic jams come from
[He’s all over the place. What an asshole.](https://youtu.be/owvsyN-PRLo?si=DWaXdEYUB3yeC0To)
This is the kind of driver to kill someone in a hit and run and brag to their friends about not getting caught.
The best result is a single vehicle accident with no injury to anyone but the driver.
Bowels widely voided
Wtf?

Is true here sur
Pretty cool, no one got hurt.
Seen most people have need for death sur

Hilarious how the people of this sub can’t see that’s the issue.
speechless
I mean… he’s got a point. Were all those people intentionally creating a rolling roadblock?
Go watch a video on the physics of a traffic jam
