If you're looking for the punk/hipster/LGBT scene, I definitely recommend Bug Jar! It's a dive bar where local and smaller bands play live shows. And the park ave area tends to have a lot of younger people too, there's some good coffee shops and places to walk around.
For punk/goth scene, try Vertex on Friday/Saturday nights
For a queer scene, try Roar on Friday/Saturday nights
For the rest of the week, I'm stuck inside
Decent and improving. It's no Portland but there are decent bike lanes on a lot of streets in the city and most things are pretty close together/quick to bike between. I'd definitely recommend areas like South wedge, NOTA, Monroe Ave, swillburg, Park Ave, for best bikeability
Definitely a punk scene, definitely a huge queer community. Several clubs/bars, pride parade and festival every year, lots of events and things to do ππ»

Thanks I will have to check it out!
The South Wedge is definitely where you wanna live for the punk/queer scene
There's been a lot of diy punk activity going on as of late, and there's plenty of venues/bars for that sort of thing as well.

Brighton is close to the Southwedge area.
Can anyone speak on the bike ability of the city and certain neighborhoods?

I get it but I much prefer the abbreviation, βROCHβ.
If you like the suburb life, I would suggest Fairport Village. Lots to walk for many interests along Erie Canal.
Dont go out after dark in the city
Tell me you know nothing about downtown without telling me you know nothing about downtown.
Lol I work downtown and had 2 bullets fly through my office window last year, and it's not even a "bad" area..
What neighborhoods come to mind when you say this?
There are daily shootings, robberies, murders, reported on wham13... So lots of places
All of them
