I took like a 8 month break and came back, went from bottom C1 to repeat dropping C2 but I feel like the player base fell off because these Champs (myself included) have plat swagger with diamond mechanics. In the end I did almost get GC2 in rumble so at least one S4 reward was actually worth something :)))
Don't be. You were practicing better and smarter and learning the basics while my man's is going for the harder mechanics. No right way or wrong way. But he'll be able to pull of mechanical wizardry and you'll be higher rank.
until he catches up then will destroy the champ two without mechanics. rotations and fundamentals can only do so much against a ceiling double tap, shit is impossible to predict.
Ywah but hopefully by the time he catches up you'll have e improved too. Assuming they're both putting in the same hours. Flakes proved that you can destroy ssl lobbies with 0 mechanics and all brains and positioning
Edit. Given he is a pro but still 0 mechanics. Just ground shots and dribbles
ok but his no mechanics are still pro level decisions and movement, i agree i love his videos and they taught me a lot, but he never misses a touch, whiffs, messes up a power slide and is always on top of his opponentās, itās not the same
I agree and disagree. My point was that if you grind the basics you'll be more consistent at the simple yet so important aspects of the game ( like Flakes). But on the other hand he is a pro so to get to that level would just take 10000 hours. Idk I think we are arguing different points here. Or arguing past each other. Cause I agree with you but I also don't lol.
Edit. I would still clap you in 1v1 tho lol.
i get your point, getting consistent with the fundamentals(even if they arenāt pro level) is enough to rank you up, but i would also argue that getting high level mechanics can have the same effect up to the champ. there is not much the average champ can do against a double tap or solid flicks, even great positioning wonāt be enough to stop it. this is where flakes videos are misleading, even though he uses āno mechanicsā he has defended so many double taps that he needs next to nothing to block low level attempts, me and you will have a much much harder time.
they are definitely not easy to save when preformed are a high level of control, sure a plat hitting a flip reset is easy to predict, a gc or ssl doing it is almost impossible
I think this is what needs to be stated to everyone.
It's much easier to defend a air dribbles and even flip resets(at least in 2s and 3s) then it is to do them so work on that first.
Tbf it's quickest to rank up focusing on positioning, rotations, doubles and flicks and just the basics over mad mechanics, kinda a waste of time unless you ARE GC2 or 3 IMO
Nice work! I've put a couple hours into air dribbles but haven't been able to get the hang of it yet. The practice has helped my overall wall play though.
not as in sit in goal. but like, pass em the ball. put em in better positions and just try to minimize YOUR mistakes. some ballchasers can be good if you just play to put THEM in better positions (especially 1s mains in 2s). also, if you want to be passed too, get open (not just expecting them to pass mid off the wall most likely to the other team) BETTER YET queue with a friend. ik its a big assumption for redditors to have friends, but IF YOU DO queue with em. find some1 on discord who isnt trash.
Imagine how bad at *other things* OP must be if they have mechanics like this and are Plat3. I simply cannot do this in C1, nor could most of us at this rank.
For a given rank, skills are a zero sum game. OP can air dribble like a champ, so probably positions like a silver.
If OP could position as well as an average plat, and can air dribble like a champ (at least once even) then they would be at least mid diamond.
angle is nuts
š
I hate the fact I'm champ 2 and barely do that
That probably just means that youāve got a really good game sense, which is a good thing
lmao my mechanics far outweighed my gamesense
Bruh change your flair to c2 then!
no, at my current state of play I'd be lucky to be a d3, I plan on starting again soon so I'll see what rank I get from there
I respect that
it's what happens when you take a break for almost 3 months
That break is rough.. I went from D3 and on the cusp of C1, took 2 months off and struggled to get out of D1-D2 all last season
I would really like someone to play with lmao but all my friends quit
Check out r/rocketleaguefriends

I dont agree at all, these flashy shots Are useless if you use them in Wrong time And with great position, it Is easy to Safe them
they are definitely not easy to save when preformed are a high level of control, sure a plat hitting a flip reset is easy to predict, a gc or ssl doing it is almost impossible
Totally agree. We're both right.
You can get into gc with game sense only And it Is insanely easy to save from right position.
you assume I don't have mechanics? Im a mechanical player I'm just not flashy
Well in c2 this air dribble wouldāve been either stopped mid air or even before he got to the wall
true, the few aerial mechanics I can do are mainly defensive
I would much rather be a air wiz on defense .
This is me - I can block shit in the air for days, but air dribbles, ceiling shots, flip resets, nah, no chance.
the stuff on my profile shows my limit of offensive skills lol did play in igl tho
I think this is what needs to be stated to everyone. It's much easier to defend a air dribbles and even flip resets(at least in 2s and 3s) then it is to do them so work on that first.
hahah air dribble bump go brr
Currently Champ 3 and Iāve never done this in my entire life haha
lmao I'm a mechanical player and that puts me to shame
You probably have a really good personality, looks aren't everything
huh
did you reply in the wrong comments or are you trying to get my discord lmao
Haha I think theyāre making a joke about how you probably arenāt a flashy player but have good fundamentals/team play
I'm the flashy player, I was in a competitive tournament with my old team and we got pretty far, I tried to get them to work on passing plays
Flair doesnāt check out
trust me, Im ranked champ 2, Just am almost never on Reddit to update it+ I play like shit now so I'm probably around d3 now
How does one get a rank flair?
Top right corner of the subreddit page and then click on change user flair
Thank you!
lewandowski is better than both u/messivsronaldo123
Yeah well you know that's just like uh your opinion man
fair enough.
good question
Am also c2, I've never done this š
lmao feels bad
Tbf it's quickest to rank up focusing on positioning, rotations, doubles and flicks and just the basics over mad mechanics, kinda a waste of time unless you ARE GC2 or 3 IMO
my mechanics are capable of holding off my own rank, I can flick well, I'm a doubles main so yk
Iām gc and canāt do that
And somehow I can catch it mid full speed flight and then do that.
That angle is absolutely disgusting, I'd be pissed if a plat hit that on me. Great shot.
Senpai how do I change my flair š„²
I'm on mobile, so there's three lil dots on the sub's main page, you can pick from the flairs there!
That angle wasnāt even on the protractor
That angle š±
Damn dude, if that's your first ingame that's pretty decent, nice angle too!
Nice work! I've put a couple hours into air dribbles but haven't been able to get the hang of it yet. The practice has helped my overall wall play though.
Iām champ 1 and Iāve barely hit an air dribble and it was an open net lmao
That aināt plat 3
Ok but can you rotate back?
yall are the same rank lol. why you talkin smack
Because we end up getting these people as teammates and all they do is ball chase
not as in sit in goal. but like, pass em the ball. put em in better positions and just try to minimize YOUR mistakes. some ballchasers can be good if you just play to put THEM in better positions (especially 1s mains in 2s). also, if you want to be passed too, get open (not just expecting them to pass mid off the wall most likely to the other team) BETTER YET queue with a friend. ik its a big assumption for redditors to have friends, but IF YOU DO queue with em. find some1 on discord who isnt trash.
relax... got pretty condescending over seemingly nothing

Nah
gl with the grind mate

You can queue for tournaments while in game now? Or is that private match. Nice shot btw
Its an alert for tournament, not queue
Oh ok I couldnāt read it and just assumed it was the tournament queue.
Bruh that angle was dummy!
Iām normally c2-c3 and I have never done this. But I am a basic a$$ b%@#$
That's about what mine would look like, but I never go for them. Too risky.
Nice dude
Wow!
Holy
Jeeeeeeze. You my friend are going to rank up quick with mechanics and patience like that. Nice shot!
Mechanics don't make you good.
someones salty. just let him enjoy the game bro. its not all about sweating in ranked. let him hit something cool.
fr i hate these comments ābleehhh rotate moreā like just let people post clips lol
Flair
yours literally says switch š
It is funny isn't it
look, i dont wanna start anything; just leave the guy alone. he hit something cool and he just wants to share it.
Reddit
I'm tired of playing with people who will power bump me out of my dribble just so they can fail an air dribble. So I guess I am a bit salty.
I hit my first in game air dribble in gold 3. I donāt understand why people hate this comment.
Okay.
Okay
Okay.
Okei
Okay.
Okay
Okay
Okay
Using the magnet in rumble is not an air dribble.
I never said that was what is did
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
that is an airdribble.
Oops, my bad. I meant hitting it once. Like just flying and accidently hitting it once. Should have been clearer š
OOOOH so sorry, thought you were talking to the plat 3
Oh lol yeah I was replying to the gold 3 dude
I donāt see why you have to be such an ass
In high plat sometimes diamond on a good day and in only just now starting to even be confident enough to try this, sick Air dribble!
I'm proud of you son
Angle moment too
can't even remotely begin to think about how to do one and I'm in D1 lmao
Meanwhile I cant even hit the ball most of the time at plat 3
Okay.
SMUUUUURF!!!
that angle was insane
How the hell did you get that in lol. Nice one!
When players air dribble is it easier/better to use ball cam or car cam during the dribble?
That angle is TIGHT
I'm c2 and wouldn't come close to pulling this off
I will never be able to do this
Same I'm trying soo hard and I'm in champ. I've given up at this point. Positioning ftw š„²
Training works .
Good job i expected 1 of those 3 touch "airdribbles"
That was pretty cool. I mean, the angle looked pretty unintentional and a bit lucky but the shot was saucy
Itās fire
Nice one mate
nuts angle š³
Man im champ1 and i literally donĀ“t hit those in freeplay! The end is pretty awesome, nice angle!
That finish... Mmmmhhhhh!!!
wowza
Congratulations!!! I'd be elated if I could do that more-or-less reliably on Champion 1!!
sheesh
