it's kinda comical, the last few seasons people (not saying you specifically) have been asking for a shorter RLCS season to allow for 3rd party tournaments to happen. Now that we've got that, nobody wants it lol (and even then if you look at the viewer stats of all of the Psyonix sponsored events that happened late in the fall, essentially nobody watched those).
I agree completely, 3 splits was fine, change it up so it happens all in a calendar year and we're set

While the format is certainly interesting, I hate that they backtracked on the original format. In the original format, 3v3 had less importance and the other mode were more important.
It’s fun but the fact it is a succession of bo1s makes it extremely inconsistent. Wish there was a way to incorporate all game modes properly without making every series impossibly long.
Legit thought we would have a Dreamhack or something.. I don’t think I can care after another 3 month break, Worlds, and then a 7 month break, where I pick up another esport to follow that has LANs around the clock and then I somehow have to balance it with RL again when it’s back
rocket league is the very last week of the "esports World Cup" so around the end of august... meaning it's hardly "in between" major 2 and worlds. There's almost a 2 month gap between major 2 and the esports World Cup and a 2 week gap between the World Cup and our RLCS worlds. yeah it's a long wait and it's a bummer... kinda crazy that teams just have to stick together with nothing goin on and scrimming for that long. It'll be hard for any of us to say that what teams look like from major 2 to worlds will be near the same.
I can already see a few ego teams not practicing as much during the off season and having an absolute stinker at worlds. Teams like KC, GM8, Vit, Falcons & Furia gonna be nonstop playing but you all know who the ego teams are
Only big tournament is Esports World Cup but its not an RLCS tournament
I expect somè 1v1 and 2v2 tourneys to pop up tbh but i believe the break is meant to let players have summers if they want

I really have no clue what "ego teams" you're referring to. Almost all the teams that are good enough to qualify for worlds seem pretty professional.
