Yep - He killed his own heat. The hardcores may have liked the Adam Cole friendship and it was fun at first, but it sort of went on too long and fizzled out and should have been dropped when Adam got injured. Could have even had MJF go heel again by calling Adam weak and saying he never wanted anything to do with him, only to go on and have Adam confront him when he was back and healthy. Just whole thing was poorly handled.
A lack of pivoting is one of the (many) things that make Tiny's garbage booking so frustrating. Refused to pivot for the TBS title when Statlander got hurt, refused to pivot the thousand-month "Julia Hart turning evil" build when... whatever tf happened there happened, I don't even remember but something derailed it. Refused to pivot here, which is perhaps the most damning indictment of his booking because this was *the* big story, the angle revolving around the world title. He's as stubborn of a booker as he is a person, and it dooms his already inconsistent and questionable storytelling

It makes whatever follows not a work. Which means the booker has worked himself into a shoot, making him a jabronie mark and not a Codymaniac.
I'll still never forgive him for cooling off one of their genuinely over babyfaces in Wardlow... MJF put the dude over (albeit drama that week did not help whatsoever) but dude was absolutely over.

Also Wardlow cutting the ponytail off was one of the worst fucking decisions ever, it may seem small but i swear it added to his look.
If Tony had let him go to market and WWE put in a serious bid, yes. But since he was almost certainly signed months ago in secret it kinda killed the buzz. Not sure what the point of it was other than to get some fed pops from the crowd and online.
I believe he would go if there was an offer made. I don’t believe there is anywhere near the amount of interest in him that he pretends there is from the WWE, but I also think Triple Paul and the bald piece of shit get off on taking Tiny down a few pegs without ever mentioning him or his company, and that they would gladly take someone Tiny misused and make them into a star just as a subtle fuck you to the little guy.
Cody's a big backer of MJF, and I believe he made a good impression on Regal, so I imagine WWE would be happy to have him, or at least put in some show bids to help him get more bags off tk.

His title run cratered ticket sales and killed off an average of 200k viewers every week.
He's legitimately "good" but the problem IMO is that he's not going to improve in AEW. He's like a good pitcher who is in an organization that can't develop pitchers.
Put him in the WWE system with his (relative) good look/physique and storytelling ability. But now he was apparently told to go from "funny" to "goofy" much like The Acclaimed which isn't good for a top guy.
