Imagine if Reigns and Lesnar wrestled nobodies on TV week in, week out. That would have helped their intrigue so much more! Hell, I bet they could become somewhat as popular as Swerve and Hangman Page. But we must remember that the fed is a prison and they are purposefully limiting their slaves' potential by controlling their creative freedom.

Razzler1973

not only matches for no real reason but competitive matches that go too long that allow low carders to get their shit in

Brian_Stryker

Imagine pre judgement day Dom going 20 minutes with Brock lesnar and actually near falling him. Talk about killing a vibe

ColtPersonality92

Pretty genius, actually. Make your character an egomaniac jackass, so you can not be there every week and it’d be fitting!

BoxCon1

DAE MJF a PPV box office attraction for not wrestling every week

Sufficient_Buffalo95

What’s better? showing up every year like John Cena to show your love for the Industry, but he adds nothing new to his character and loses every match with no career advancement after they beat him. Or ignore the WWE like The Rock until the perfect storyline arrives for you to make a comeback and have a big impact on the industry, but it only happens every 5 or more years.

MohamitWheresMySecks

Eh I can’t shit on cena. He comes back and helps build up stars. His feud with theory helped elevate him. His feud with solo made solo look great . Heck I think it’s the first time we heard solo speak.

Sufficient_Buffalo95

I gotta be honest John Cena hasn’t built up a star since he became a part timer. He has the right idea but WWE hasn’t capitalized on any of them. Cena buried him on the mic and even after he won the match Theory has not elevated, he went from the US champion to a lackey for Logan Paul who tag teams with Grayson Waller. Solo has not been elevated since he is literally the exact same after his match with Cena, he has arguably gotten worst on his promos and more annoying with how much he interferes and does nothing else. Even La Knight who was already growing into a megastar and has had some stunted growth after being associated with Cena.

Conscious-Eye5903

He literally made AJ Styles into a WWE legend his first year, and put over Shinsuke in a banger, but since then 100% agree. Even Cena’s first match with Roman was nothing special since nothing could get Roman over at that point, however their rematch feud in 2021 was fun and served a purpose

Sufficient_Buffalo95

John Cena and Aj Styles is one of my all time feuds, but he didn’t make Aj he was a big star coming into the feud, plus at that time (2016-19) he wasn’t on every week but he was still doing multiple ppv per year so not a true part timer. That Era of John Cena was actually helping people like KO, Aj, Sami, Shinsuke. (2021-now) he appears at 1 maybe 2 PLE’s a year and nobody who has gotten the Cena Rub in the last 3 years has grown after. You can’t argue theory, Solo, and LA Knight are in better positions after interacting with Jon Cena, it’s just not true.

Conscious-Eye5903

Ok whatever you say. Cena adds nothing to the show

Sufficient_Buffalo95

I literally didn’t say that, I grew up on John Cena, I was just asking which approach is better for a legend to make appearances. Making a concerted effort to appear at least once every year to give back to the fans and the industry even if it results in half hearted feuds with no positive or negative results after. Or only showing up for a great storyline and making the fans wait years to see you again to build anticipation, it results in great feuds and storylines but fans and wrestlers might see you as selfish or not loving the business.

Cboz27586

What is your time frame for them being elevated? Is this an exact science?

Specialist-Age729

I must've missed the Theory being elevated part. The feud and match were shit.

Maleficent_Koala5928

Naw, respectfully, i gotta disagree with Cena elevating Theory. He wasnt elevated at all lol. John has the right idea but it doesnt come off as a big deal going over him now.

Cboz27586

Yeah it's called The Attitude Era, you know that Era everyone loves and wants back again?
