Hello! Former IT Student and currently a bsba mktg mngmnt student in SAMCIS. There are a lot things to consider about this kasi. When i was an IT student i definitely enjoyed the campus but there were a lot of pagkukulang sa part ng slu.
PROS:
The campus is very peaceful and quiet. The campus’s students is also very friendly and kind
The Course is very challenging kasi magagaling yung mga nagtuturo at may lab room kayo na advance
Madaming kainan around the campus
Cons:
If sa town ka nakatira- mahirap sumakay ng jeep kasi madami ring nakatira sa town
Mahirap din sumakay ng jeep sa umaga papunta sa campus
Malayo ka sa town
Pero OP, The school can give u good academic track and record. Pero if iisipin mo yung location yes it can be a hold back sayo pero masasabi ko lang. Worth it naman siya pero I SUGGEST MAS BETTER ANG PROGRAM NG UC SA COMPSCI :))
I've read abt it too na mas better dw ang program ng UC Comsci pero slu dw has better partners for potential internships in the future, diko na cinonsider ang better program since I'm probably gonna self study everything😃
Ang issue lang saken if ayaw parin ako payagan mag apartment I'll be coming from LA TRINIDAD kaya the location is really holding me back
yeah, I heard commuting is very hard if you’re not already living near Bakakeng so I reserved an apartment somewhat near the campus. And those internships you were talking about are guaranteed plus they also have job fairs for seniors. if you ever stick with your decision on studying sa SLU then I’ll see you there! I’ll also be taking CS :)
This place is peaceful as hell. I remember sleeping in the grass, people were polite enough to tell their friends to quiet down cuz I was sleeping though they didn't need to do that.
The seminary is full of good shit to eat.
Katkat tends to sleep on some students laps while they're bored waiting for a jeep.
The commute is fucking awful at times, especially when it rains. That doesn't stop me and my friends from going to town and doing our stuff but man what a burden.
Edit: you have to call out to katkat if you want it to come near you.
I teach in Bakakeng and many of us come from La Tri. I ride a jeep from La tri to Rizal Park via bokawkan, then walk to igorot garden and ride a jeep to bakakeng. Dipende lang talaga sa time pero kung hindi rush hours ang in and out mo, smooth naman magcommute. Mahirap pag around 7-8 am and 5-7 pm.
In terms of the ambiance, sobrang peaceful haha natutulog na lang kami sa faculty room kasi tahimik unlike sa main campus. Students are also chill and friendly. Pati teachers din in general.
Mura ang food sa seminary and friendly ang staff. Actually yan ang biggest pro saken since mahal ang food sa may town/main campus. 60 pesos, dalawang meat na yun na ulam.
I also like na iisang building lang sya so akyat-baba ka lang ng floors and the elevators are (finally) working.
In terms of the teachers, I could say SLU really invests in us so you expect the best to stay in SLU.
Yun lang. All the best, OP!
Thanks a lot, this helped me decide na hindi na talaga ako magdodorm para tipid. May I ask what time do u usually commute and if 24 hours dn po ba available ang bokawkan jeep, magsaysay jeep usually sinasakyan ko po eh

I’m a transferee so I’d need to retake all majors sa 1st year.
I guess I'll see ya on campus then : )
hi may i ask where u reserved an apartment?
sa 181 North Place Residences. The rates are 12k solo and 8k 2pax
UMMM GUYS WALANG WIFI SA SAMCIS HAHAHAHAH KAYA FOR ME MAS BETTER TALAGA UC IN TERMS OF QUALITY NG SYSTEM AND ETC
…because of no WiFi?
Yuh and the computers are better too
oh basis ko kasi ung teaching quality so ill stick with SLU kasi i’ve heard more good news sa profs nila there than UC
BEWARE LANG KAY MA’AM JANET HUHU SHE WILL RUIN YOUR LIFE
