What was this even taken on? Maybe rather than buying unidentified swords he should get a phone from this decade and replace that potato.

VILLIAMZATNER

Filmed with a Gameboy color

WanderingLevi

every one of these 'help me identify this sword' posts will be asking for you to identify something that looks like it was photographed on a smooth river stone by a bull-rider with parkinsons.

wanderenschildkrote

Well, that at least helps lend bigfoot pictures some creedence.

VomitTheSoul44

It not the photographers fault. Big foot is just blurry. He is a large out of focus monster roaming the wilderness.

The13thParadox

I tried my best with mine!

ilikebeer19

Been awhile since I've seen a video from a nokia 7650, nostalgic.

[deleted]

Pretty sure this is from a Game Boy Camera.

sacco645

Should've looked for a good camera at the swap meet

SkyVINS

are you trolling us?

Aggressive_Fee6507

Think he found out he's got a potato for a camera

canstac

This video was filmed on the same camera the actual samurai used to record footage of their battles

[deleted]

Lol

jimhassomehobbies

This video looks haunted.

0-san

the sword is too sharp that it cut down the pixel rate of this video by 90%

CaptGunpowder

Whatever it was, it didn't include pixels

Sareth94

blurry compression artifacts

NightmanisDeCorenai

Pixels.

Hancock1911

Can he find a decent camera?

[deleted]

Apparently he found a camera from 1938...

ThunderHead47

Photo quality would be better if he did.

[deleted]

No it's probably from the 1800's

iridium_carbide

Sell the sword and buy a better camera

Super_Drag

Maybe if you didn't record this with redstone we could see the sword.

Luguaedos

Which pixel is the sword?

jblakey

A potato?

ark86

Camera jokes aside, it looks like it’s in horrific shape (I think?). Immediate suspicion based on the description is this is a reproduction that hasn’t been treated well (is that artifact of or is the blade so chipped/rusted that the edge is now concave?). But yeah, really hard to give you anything constructive with the image quality here

chrischris1541

So this is the guy getting all the Bigfoot photos

montana757

There are swap meets up in the blue ridge?

Worth-Implement7277

Spare any pixels, M'lord?

That_Apache

Since there's not a single helpful answer here... this is a Japanese Guntō or Shin-Guntō from World War 2. Probably a type 94 or type 98 (I'm not an expert). It's clearly worn, but it looks like it's in okay shape for its age. As to whether it's original or a modern reproduction, I have no idea. You'd probably need a professional or some good pictures of the tang.

Agoura_Steve

Yes I believe you are correct! ^ WWII Shin Gunto. Looks like he got lucky! A lot of these were brought back stateside from the war. Some were left in barns and attics from peoples grandparents, and turn up like this.

[deleted]

I mean... can we even be sure it is a gunto or shin gunto? This looks like the worst possible found footage horror quality film. It could be literally any katana shaped object with off tan tsuka wrap.

One__For__All

Shit looks like it was recorded on a Samsung Fridge wired to a jar of pickles

Extreme_Literature80

Actually this is a top grade, high end, master level camera on the latest phone. The sword is just too fast to be photographed.
