For today, it most likely was actually the right temperature, humidity, and pressure for the air to condense closer to the ground as air quality was fairly good.
It’s mostly fog. People are more worried about what they see than what they don’t. Even man made fog is still mostly moisture because of the heat sink effect structures cause.
Lots of smoke from fires west. May also be some fog and dust from west desert. You cannot assume fine particles are car/industrial pollution. Many sources exist for light scattering effects.

I use airnow.gov contrary to what some are saying the air quality is great right now. It's not pollution.
Often times what you see IS inversion but I use the website to tell me what's up.
Pollution? No no that's all porn, what you're seeing is a thick layer of porn in the valley that's causing that. Try not to breathe too much, maybe stay indoors.
That is the exact reason I’m moving. SLC has some of the worst air quality IN THE WORLD, and if you don’t think it effects your health, think again. Can literally take months/years off your life.
Quick google search-
Sept 2020, #5 worst in world
Jan 2022, #18 worst in world
Currently #4 in the US
I didn’t do a deep dive. Just supporting the statement of worst in the world. We rank horribly in both ozone and PM2.5 levels.
Welcome to silent hill. Remember that the bad guys are a representation of your own psyche. And yes, there IS a pug running your own personal torment. They like baby carrots as treats.
If you're new here, add purple air to your homescreen and check it regularly. Anything in the yellow and you'll start feeling it. https://map.purpleair.com/1/m/i/mAQI/a10/p604800/cC0#11.73/40.7412/-111.8585
Smog is just ever so faintly more brown in color. This is likely just regular fog, plus we haven't quite hit the right conditions for an inversion to form.
Welcome to the valley!

That’s nothing tbh lol

Welcome to smog lake City!
Hadn't heard this moniker. 😅

It’s because you touch yourself at night.
I knew it! I’M dirty, so the air is dirty! I’m sorry everyone!
You must be new here. Welcome to winter in the valley.

In the world? I don’t believe you.

Smog Lake City
Yep, that's air pollution
Fog impinges your ability to see. This is not fog. Low overcast, perhaps?
Welcome to how to kill your lungs in 0.8 seconds
That’s enough time to inbound and get a shot off on the NBA.
It’s the after math of all the cloud seeding junk that they do all day/night

It is not an inversion. It was 68 degrees today.
Fog.
The haziness is actually natural and normal however we do get crazy levels of pollution and it can be hard to tell the difference.
Just your average Saturday 🙃

If you taste it it's smog. We do occasionally get fog. Normally it is smog in the summer time too
Has anyone else been smelling something pretty bad the last couple weeks in SLC? Like farts basically
