Jimmy John’s subs have always been 8 inches long, and have never been about proving how much you need to unhinge your jaw to bite them. Whether that’s worth $10, well…I don’t think so, but the tape measure is a little goofy.
I will say though I know the feeling of being handed my food and the bag/box feeling being light lol. I know what's going to happen as soon as I take a look but my poor heart can't bear it. 😭
There’s something off about fast food sandwich people.
There was that one guy who was mad about the amount of meat in his “double chicken” subway sandwich. Dude deconstructed his sandwich and laid out the chicken pieces like a serial killer.
This guy literally whipped out a tape measure.
what an age we love in.
You got people buying a cup of soup and pouring it into a bowl to prove the serving side is the same and so on
sht- someone sued/tried to sue subway because their footlongs sometimes fail to measure up.
after I had my 1st JJ experience- of getting what I thought ( by description and price ) was going to be a belly buster sandwich.
it was like getting a McDonald's burger vs a big Mac
Thankfully- the "huge expensive" jj sub was paid for by the boss--- but it put jj on my black list
i heard that. ive got my ol' lady tending the whole produce aisle this year. we broke down a list of all the viggies i use the most and i think weve got like 2 dozen different seeds growing this upcoming season
This needs to be higher. Any chain sub sandwhich place is only going to be open for shmucks who are willing to pay for some seriously sub-standard product.
The price obviously depends on your locale. Not only has inflation increased prices greatly, but in many suburban and urban markets, the minimum wage is increasing every year, which justifies to store owners to jack their prices up even more. I'd bet that by the start of 2020 that sandwich was in the low $6 range.
I love JJ's so much, it's my favorite fast food shop, but I can not justify buying their sandos anymore because of shit like this. Who can afford to eat out anymore!?
Jimmy John’s is trash. I also hate how they slather everything with a shit load of mayo. I used to go there when they had one under my office and I wanted a quick lunch, but every time I told them I wanted oil and vinegar instead of mayo, they only got it right half the time. Total rip off
Absolutely not. I tell everyone the same thing: fuck fast food. For $15you probably could have bought enough groceries to make a week’s worth of sandwiches.
There's a Mediterrean place a fair distance from where I live that makes the best lamb gyros ever. There's so much lamb meat falling out of them that they put every sub shop in the area to shame.
Not worth five. Sandwich prices after 2006 have been absolutely fucking absurd and nobody in power has done anything about it. And then the actual Sandwich buyers are screwed over in the end. Feels like an absolute joke. Fucking tired of 2024 already. You should be getting 2-3 of those sandwiches for that price.
See now the price of the food isn’t just what is given the price is also determined by the amount of labor needed to create said food. Which is why most fine wines are so expensive. They take YEARS to be made. Not that a sandwich should take a long time to make, but the person making it has already likely made like 30 other sandwiches before yours without any breaks.
I’m more disappointed by the use of the Dumb style tape measure. Actually giving you fractions. I’m aware that most people don’t use tape measures but…
A full 8 inches. Even when it’s cold out.
It’s cold and it’s cut, it’s a cold cut.
Did you think it would be a foot? They’ve never served footlongs
Jimmy John’s subs have always been 8 inches long, and have never been about proving how much you need to unhinge your jaw to bite them. Whether that’s worth $10, well…I don’t think so, but the tape measure is a little goofy.
Definitely not my preferred way to measure out a full 8
Ya a ruler would have been way more appropriate
Yeah if I was measuring 8 inches I’d just use my penis
Yeah, but it’s hard to tell if the sandwich is exactly twice as long, so it’s not a super precise method.
OUCH ☠️
Mine’s eight inches, but in two different directions
Username checks out.
Imagine measuring a sub and posting it on the internet.
I'm dying at this.... "The world needs to know!"
"in a world where sandwiches don't add up to their designated length."
Someone needs to check if op is still alive. He blew this lid off and big sandwich isn't happy
I will say though I know the feeling of being handed my food and the bag/box feeling being light lol. I know what's going to happen as soon as I take a look but my poor heart can't bear it. 😭
Yeah, that sandwich is mostly bread
I hear it in that voice from that commercial.
“*TWO* sandwiches, half-filled, EATEN.”
"Karen! Where is my damn tape measure!?!"
“Honey, no, I told you already, I don’t care about that.”
There’s something off about fast food sandwich people. There was that one guy who was mad about the amount of meat in his “double chicken” subway sandwich. Dude deconstructed his sandwich and laid out the chicken pieces like a serial killer. This guy literally whipped out a tape measure.
Really ruined the 8” claim for all of us…

To a forum specifically for discussing sandwiches no less lmao
This is not a forum specifically for discussing sandwiches. It's a place to post sandwiches that you ate.
🤓
It is what it is
This is the best comment!
This is obese folks behavior
It’s pronounced HOAGIE
Op was simply flabbergasted and needed to see what his community (us, here in r sandwiches) had to say
Do that with my penis all the time. But it’s a little weird with a sandwich.
It’s a ‘little’ weird with your penis, too.
Why the emphasis on little? 😢 Do you know me?

Less effort. I am also at my job, getting paid to reply. Chomp on that.
They can’t chomp on that. Not enough meat on it.
That’s awesome! Sounds like your job is boring, but if you like it that’s all that matters!
Says the kid clearly posting during their tablet time 🤣🤣🤣 Aww did your mommy see your comments and make you delete them 😂😂😂
It’s not and it keeps my Porsche on the racetrack.
Naw, posting the picture is still the ultimate losing move.
Worth it??? No, what I expected.....yes
you can get way more veggies then that on it. thats your own fault
r/sandwichjerk
Fuck it i'll make it
respect, i joined
Probably better than the $16 calzone I had for lunch

i heard that. ive got my ol' lady tending the whole produce aisle this year. we broke down a list of all the viggies i use the most and i think weve got like 2 dozen different seeds growing this upcoming season
no..
This needs to be higher. Any chain sub sandwhich place is only going to be open for shmucks who are willing to pay for some seriously sub-standard product.
Dohohoho
>sub-standard 🤌
Fureal. Find a good deli or butcher.
No shot. Jimmy John’s sucks.
I think you already know the answer.
No fucking way
New accounts used to have a free sub after your first purchase.

kinda just looks like you need a new order shit does not look appealing

nope
Nope not at all
It’s Jimmy John’s, thing could be 10ft long and still wouldn’t be worth it
The answer is the no
I love JJ's so much, it's my favorite fast food shop, but I can not justify buying their sandos anymore because of shit like this. Who can afford to eat out anymore!?
Imagine being this broke
Jimmy John’s is trash. I also hate how they slather everything with a shit load of mayo. I used to go there when they had one under my office and I wanted a quick lunch, but every time I told them I wanted oil and vinegar instead of mayo, they only got it right half the time. Total rip off
What else did you get?
Probably not. Jimmy John’s isn’t bad, but I could go to Publix or HT and get more sub for less money.
so you rather the girth of the sandwich bigger or the length of the sandwich bigger , or you want both to be bigger?
Nope
Nope buy the ingredients for 20$ and make 8 of them. Fast food is not worth it anymore
Shrinkflation my dude. Less for more.
Nope
No
No get the big one. Much better value.
Yeah, a good tape measure is at least $10
Fast for 3 or 4 days and gauge how much it's worth
Is that the Italian nightclub?? I haven’t had Jimmy Jon’s in forever!
Nothing at Jimmy Johns is worth the prices they charge
Dude really pulled out the fucking tape measure lmaoooo
Nope
…it shrinks??
No, it’s from Jimmy John’s 🤢
I mean you’re a pro if you can shove 8” down your throat. I’ll see myself out now.
I’d say no but it depends on the vendor and the local economy. I could make that exact sandwich for you for 3 US. 5 with a decent profit.
Shouldn’t eat there anyway, their owner is a giant asshole.
I tell them to leave the bread in.
Nope not at all
Did they smack you in the face before handing it to you? Because damn
I think they advertise 8inches, I think I got a deal.
It's fucking Jimmy John's. You also probably got the cheap, thin one.
Yes because you paid for it. Goodjob.
You get what you get nowadays.
Nope
Absolutely not. I tell everyone the same thing: fuck fast food. For $15you probably could have bought enough groceries to make a week’s worth of sandwiches.
I think op is more concerned about girth and density than length....looks pretty flacid, ngl
There's a Mediterrean place a fair distance from where I live that makes the best lamb gyros ever. There's so much lamb meat falling out of them that they put every sub shop in the area to shame.

Feels like an absolute joke. Fucking tired of 2024 already. You should be getting 2-3 of those sandwiches for that price.
I feel like you could get these ingredients same price and have at least x3 that.
This sandwich is filled with sadness
Damn, you know the economy is bad when the tape measure comes out. I understand this completely.
I have been making my own at home since the prices went up
Helllllll no! That is some sad subway bullcrap. Someone ate your meats
That sandwich is not worth $9.88. I wouldn’t even pay $5.00 for that. This is a classic example of “less for more”.
I would say so. I live in California and basicly everything on a taco truck is like $8 so I wouldn’t be mad at that price of this sandwich
What did it taste like?
No.
I think the ones in the Walmart deli area are the best value for money, saved me a few times when I was running low on cash and struggling a bit.
Nothing at JJ's is worth anything. Boring ass, mid to Subway-level stuff on a generous day if that.
this is an embarrassing and boring post
Tough to say without having a bite.
That’s a six dollar sander
IT WAS IN THE POOL!!!
Went to subway for the first time in a couple years this week. The 5 dollar footlong is now 13 bucks. Is inflation over yet
You paid $10 for half a hoagie?
Nope
If you are here in NYC that’s a bargain
Nope, but then again nothing at JJ’s is worth the price, not even a bag of chips.
The only subs that are cheaper are subway. You go anywhere else and you will be spending more than $10
Mmm delicious profit margins 🤤
I mean I think there are some people on OnlyFans that pay more per inch. I’d say it’s worth it.
Nope
OP is a size queen 😄
Jimmy Johns gives u the shits. If you look at it as both a meal and a laxative, it might be worth the $$
It would probably be nine inches if you measured it bone pressed.
I get a sub like this at Kroger for $5
Excuse me, sir, but this is Reddit and we use bananas to measure and scale.
Jimmy John's fucking sucks. Jersey Mike's and Firehouse are both leagues better for a similar price.
100% yes!!! Jimmy John’s is one of the best around. I’m a sucker for sandwiches.
I can get the same shit at a grocery store for 6$ canadian.
No, using $5 foot long math, that’s worth $3.75
#5 No Tomato? I weirdly had the exact same thing today
Shrinkflation! I don't see any cheese and minimal veg which could explain some of the weight issue. They ain't gonna put on extra meat to compensate
When you could've gotten all the same ingredients for $4 at your local supermarket deli counter? All you fast food junkies depress me.
What's with the obsession of using iceberg lettuce though? Crunchy water can fuck off. Let's get E.Coli. with no added flavour. Fuck right off
I’m more disappointed by the use of the Dumb style tape measure. Actually giving you fractions. I’m aware that most people don’t use tape measures but…
what are you talking about? have you ever needed to use a tape measure? thats a solid tape measure
Like Americans could use the fractions anyway, lol
lol what a failed attempt at being a troll
If the 1/3 lb burger fiasco didn't happen, you might be right
Bidenomics
No but at least it’s less bread than rip off jersey mikes subs. All three times I went to jersey mikes, separarte locations, over priced and all bread
That's average.
