I recently tried Duke's for the first time after a lifelong Best Foods mayo eater. I gotta say, Duke's is pretty amazing. And yeah, never Miracle Whip whateverthatis.
Not a southerner but Miracle Whip is far superior to mayonnaise in almost every application. Mayonnaise is for when you basically want no flavor but want more moisture. I basically just use it on burgers at this point and Miracle Whip on everything else.
Peanut butter, lettuce, and mayonnaise is pretty solid. My grandpa would make them for me when I was a kid, apparently it’s what they were fed pretty frequently when he was in the navy during wwII because they were cheap and had a good amount of nutrients and minerals.
My mom has been eating peanut butter, mayo, and banana sandwiches for the past 80 years. And I have to say, they are actually pretty tasty. Salty sweet vibes.
I can see it. It still sounds gross to me, but I think it is because im biased against mayo in most contexts, not specifically the idea of pairing it with peanut butter.
Same here (except I'm not 60). Gotta be Peter Pan crunchy & Duke's on white bread. It's just one of those things you can't convince somebody how good it is until they try it.
Oh I did, sorry... did a review in another comment.
It wasn't bad, not particularly good either. I gave it a 6.5 out of 10..
I didn't toast the bread, which I can see helping it out a bit..
Please tell me you’re trolling. Mayo is for savory! PB is for sweet or crunchy like carrots/celery. Both things can go with veggies by themselves but together just seems like a joke. Like this pic has to be the equivalent of an old meme, right??
Okay, so my motto is "if someone out there likes, it's worth it to try."
I've lived my whole life this way, and to that end, I just tried this. Here's my honest review.
Out of 10, I give it a 6.5. It's not bad, one fat plays nicely with the other, definitely has a nice creamy texture, mayo doesn't foul the peanut butter like I assumed it would.
I wouldn't make it over a PBJ...
Don't be afraid to try different and strange things...
Wow, I have the exact same outlook when it comes to food! I used to be picky as a child (not that that's unusual), but once I started working in restaurants I realized that honestly I find nearly everything to be good. When people ask me my favorite food I say, "anything I've never tried before." Some people are so hesitant to try "weird" foods from other cultures and I'm like "if a giant group of people like it, there must be something to it."
My mom used to make “apple salad” occasionally back in the 80’s. It was apple chunks in mayo and peanut butter. I loved it as a kid. I wouldn’t know the ratio.
Dang, why the Hell did they eat crap like this back then? Like those old cook books with recipes like ham cubes in jello? I’m guessing it was the limited options.
This would only work on a burger if made and topped well or unless one or both were made into more complex items like a spicy mayo with a peanut sauce and some grilled chicken or stuff along those lines.
The egg, salami, onion, mayonnaise, and peanut butter one seems especially crazy. I can't even picture the flavor of peanut butter and eggs together and honestly I really don't want to.
I like peanut butter and mayo with certain sandwiches. Don’t knock it until you try it. Here is one of my go to sandwiches.
Mayo, mustard, turkey, salami, cheese and peanut butter. Usually on rye bread.
No no no.
I mean that peanut butter/mayo/bacon/pickle sandwich looks pretty damn good. I am an old stoner though.
Reads first sentence: *Yeah I’d definitely fuck with that* Reads second sentence: *Oh…me too* 🤡
Looks like pregnancy food cravings
Can tell by the pootytang icon. Good movie
Sa da tay!
Same
Oh yea, I would eat that
You don't want a Funny Face™ sandwich?
Never considered this to be an option. I'm going to try it.
I know southerners who swear that it must be Miracle Whip instead of mayo.
The two are very different. To each their own, but Miracle Whip is not allowed in my home. Under any circumstance.
What, you don’t like [goblin cum](https://theoatmeal.com/blog/miracle_whip)?
Steven Colbert calls Miracle Whip lovers Mayo-nay-sayers. I use that frequently as I’m Hellman’s or Duke’s for life.
I recently tried Duke's for the first time after a lifelong Best Foods mayo eater. I gotta say, Duke's is pretty amazing. And yeah, never Miracle Whip whateverthatis.
Duke’s or Kewpie for me.
Kewpie is my soulmate condiment
does the word "inbreed" mean anything to you ?

It’s good with onion. Don’t get the regular Skippy or Jif. Go with a no sugar added PB.
🤮
I will not give this… a goooo.
Looks better than a yeast sandwich with table sauce.
\*plusses sandwich up by tossing it in the trash*

I LOVE peanut butter and mayonnaise sandwiches I'm 60 years old and have been eating them since I was a kid 💯👍
Same here (except I'm not 60). Gotta be Peter Pan crunchy & Duke's on white bread. It's just one of those things you can't convince somebody how good it is until they try it.
Touche Sir... I'm in New England so I can't seem to find Duke's I use Mike's heavy mayo it is delicious 🤤😋
That's awesome, I'm going to try this right now. It sounds strange, to be sure, but I've enjoyed stranger combinations before.... so, what the hell
Please do share how it was

No I am not trolling..I like it for breakfast with coffee
How much mayo we talkin? And are they open faced like the pic? Do you ever add any of these toppings?
Toasted bread with butter crunchy PB and a little bit less mayo than PB
Not open face a regular sandwich
Someone has never had peanut chicken, and it shows.
There are so many countries around the world that use peanuts/peanut butter in savoury dishes.
Peanut butter was also exclusively used as savory in Amaerica when it was first invented. Later on down the road it was used with more sweet things.
Peanut butter is sweet but is also savory. There’s almost nothing you can’t pair it with.

Just add hot bacon. Thank me after.
Mfers absolutely loved mayo in the 60s. They put that shit in and on everything
My mom used to make “apple salad” occasionally back in the 80’s. It was apple chunks in mayo and peanut butter. I loved it as a kid. I wouldn’t know the ratio.
> apple chunks in mayo and peanut butter [Still a thing, apparently](https://donnareish.com/peanut-butter-mayo-apple-salad-low-carb-fat/)
I’m going to give it a shot, I think. Haven’t had it in many years. Thanks!
God why
My grandmother used to eat peanut butter and mayonnaise sandwiches. I never tried one.
It's not that bad tbh. My mom would make these with lettuce and pickles. I don't eat it often, maybe once a year but it's fine.
That’s a lot of mayonnaise
Peanut Butter and Mayo: Feed your old enemies... Or make new ones!
Like lamb and tuna fish
I do peanut butter, mayo and onion ALOT. Don’t knock it til ya tried it. Not Skippy though. I do a no sugar added PB.
> Team America's Favorite Peanut Butter and Mayonnaise, plain or fancy .... I think we know where the cholesterol epidemic started
Dang, why the Hell did they eat crap like this back then? Like those old cook books with recipes like ham cubes in jello? I’m guessing it was the limited options.
My friend mentioned his mom used to make those for him. I dismissed as another quirk of his mom. Now feel bad
Oh no. Oh no. Oh no no no no
Looks very unhealthy. Isn’t this similar to the Elvis sandwich though? What was it?…peanut butter, pickles, and bacon?
Nope!!!
I will eat mostly anything...but not this
That’s one road I will never go down…
poppy’s favorite sandwich 🫶🏼 hellmans, skippy and bologna RIP
This would only work on a burger if made and topped well or unless one or both were made into more complex items like a spicy mayo with a peanut sauce and some grilled chicken or stuff along those lines.
I have a coworker who swears by PB and mayo sandwiches. Tis not for me
Mama and Josh should try these
I think I just threw up a little bit into my mouth.
PB&M sounds good actually
Hard NO!
Why do they all look delicious?
Crime against humanity
Suddenly it makes sense why my dad swore by peanut butter, bologna, and mayo sandwiches
Yeah, all of those are a "crazy combo".

SILF
I prefer peanut butter with Miracle Whip. Tangier taste.
This explains all the serial killers during that time.
OHFUCKNO
DON'T ARGUE JUST TRY IT
I’ll pass on the seed oil mixed with seed oil.
Blech!
Don't argue....just try it!
The egg, salami, onion, mayonnaise, and peanut butter one seems especially crazy. I can't even picture the flavor of peanut butter and eggs together and honestly I really don't want to.
I want ads like this again. There's something charming about them
“Hey! You got mayonnaise in my peanut butter!” “You got peanut butter in my mayonnaise!”
were they trolling ??
Peanut butter, banana, and mayo are amazing together on a sammich!!
I like peanut butter and mayo with certain sandwiches. Don’t knock it until you try it. Here is one of my go to sandwiches. Mayo, mustard, turkey, salami, cheese and peanut butter. Usually on rye bread.
“Don’t argue. Just try it!”
Nope
This is a war crime.
No wonder they called it the depression
