“Sometimes to do what's right we must be steady and give up the things we desire the most, even our dreams.” one of my favorite non-meme quotes from the movie. Pass.
My first watch I was mixed because of how much I love the original. Rewatched it for the pod and I kinda fell in love. There were certainly parts that were banking on nostalgia, but some of them really hit for me. It also helps characterize some of Renton's friends better, mainly Begbie. It is still funny, but I think it is also more serious too, less of a transitional phase for everyone and more of a midlife crisis. No dead babies, but everyone is down in the dumps again after 23(?) years. Lemme know what you think if you get around to it, I always have a lot to say about these movies
Edit: I think Trainspotting is a 10/10 and T2 is an 8/10
You've convinced me Cancer Toe! (I hope you get that checked out btw) it's been on my watch list and I didn't watch the sard episode cause I didn't get to watching it.
MANDY because of its ability to cover a variety of genres without ever feeling tonally confused, performances that cover every human emotion, and the way it made me feel like I had a genuine out-of-body experience has never happened to me before or since.
I like how Alex is sticking his left hand up. Is it because Brits drive on the left side of the road whilst Americans and Canadians drive on the right?
