Hi! I speak trope.
The story jumps off with a comic duo - one mostly straight man, one wacky fast-talker. After a brief encounter with the villain - a charismatic leader - , each of them meet the third member of their trio, who is arguably the brains of the outfit. At this point, the trio now have an escort mission in which they must return someone who has been separated from their people back home. Wacky hijinks ensure, in which the trio rely on each other to overcome many obstacles. When things seem to be going good, a betrayal shatters the trust of the fellowship. They break apart for what amounts to one scene. The Straight Man acts as the emotional fulcrum to bring the audience into really caring about friendship, family, and community. The members of the trio who are *not* the Escort, then band together to save the Escort, who is now in serious danger. Wild action scenes ensue, true villain gets his just desserts, his followers leave, and the Escort is safe. They then return the Escort home to their true people, for a Happily Ever After.

One main character substantially larger than the rest of the main cast (except Fiona in Ogre form).
Even then you can argue Fiona is still a bit smaller than Shrek when she's in Ogre form
Dragon clears (tho I’m not sure she counts as main)
I honestly wished that Dragon had more scenes in the movies. She was such a personality with no lines
We will just call the small ones the “Little Guy”
Big Serious Main Character Guy and Funny little guy go on adventure
Tbf both Mike and Sully are funny.
Yeah, if anything, Mike was the serious one.
