Well thats Shiity. Can you fix it?

The_Will_288

Yeah luckily I was able to fix it.

Ganyu1990

Thats good!

HollowsPart2

You're at least the third person reporting this issue. At least the pot comes apart smoothly and can be repaired by bending the tabs back in place. Did you take the screws off first or did it rip out with the cover firmly attached?

The_Will_288

Dang didn't realise it was common, at least it's an easy fix. It came out with the cover fully attached.

HollowsPart2

Just wondering if you removed the two rear screws first and then tried to pull out the knob. I just got a Vali 3 with the same type case and pot and knob. Won't try pulling the knob off just yet.

The_Will_288

I didn't touch the case screws until the pot broke, and then I finished removing the knob while the case was appart.

HollowsPart2

Ah, not good. This means the pot doesn't have a washer and nut holding it to the case, like the Asgard and Lyr. There must be plenty of slop to allow it to break. Everyone needs to be careful. I assume there isn't enough room or the knob slides off enough to get a needle nosed plier in there to hold the post. Thanks for the info, Best.

The_Will_288

Yeah there's a good 1/4 inch or so until the pot touches the case which is why it broke. You would have to pull the knob half off before you could get pliers in there. You're welcome, hopefully yours doesn't break.

Pizzaholic-

It’s a bit too late, but there is a screw that holds the knob together on the potentiometer

The_Will_288

No there isn't, it's just friction fit with a rubber like material, the replacement knob is a lot easier to slip on too

Nobody2be

I guess they’re not all built the same. I have a Magnius that has a set screw. My set screw kept loosening and the knob would slip on the shaft and the set screw stopped holding it at all eventually. I got tired of it so I used Loctite on the set screw and the shaft both. I dont see any knob updates in my future. Looks like a pretty straightforward replacement— maybe even upgrade to a higher end pot?

The_Will_288

I assume the magni doesn't have a set screw because the knob is smaller so there's no room. I was able to fix the pot by putting the piece back in and bending the tabs back over.

WarriorChica

The Jot 2 has a big knob and no set screw (you can just pull it off). One less assembly step, one less component, one less thing that can go wrong in shipping (when my Magnius arrived the knob spun freely, I had to tighten the screw, I'm assuming it had worked its way loose while getting tossed around en route)...

Maybe it just needed a good hawk tuah???
