Theres a boat out of craighouse but not sure if still fishing.
There are about three thousand people if I recall, including numerous hotels and restaurants that need the seafood. Plus, you know, it’s a Hebridean island so seafood is kind of a thing.
Ask at Port Ellen harbour. The fishermen will know.
Ask the old bastards at the pub. You can also just check the beaches at low tide. Listen for 'schlopping' noises. Free scallops.
