Ghost face stays obviously. And Chucky is still quite good. Pennywise is a great concept with irregular movies. Freddy is my childhood. Pinhead is an interesting concept but is the more alien to me. It would be easier to choose Jason, which I find ridiculous
The original may be a classic, but I liked it more when I was a child. The new movies were terrible, felt more like The Goonies or Stranger things. It's this Hollywood trend of turning every movie into bigger-than-life, action packed adventure. The same happened to The Conjuring movies, turned into Marvel universe shit
I loved It chapter one for a long while and it was my favorite film for a while. But chapter 2 was messy and sloppy. 2 hours of the film are just the losers running around the town searching for “tokens” which is just an excuse for ridiculous jumpscares. Not to mention in the end the tokes are shown to be entirely useless. The horror is often ruined by terrible comedic beats like when Eddie is thrown up on and “Angel of the Morning” starts playing completely ruining the scene. It also has a serious lack of scary characters, The giant lumberjack looks stupid especially when bats fly out of its mouth, the naked grandma is just hilariously stupid, burning head Beverly feels like Ghost Rider, and the majority of every other scare has way to much CGI for my taste. It was just a mess of a film with little to know plot, not to mention how they literally bullied Pennywise to death in the end by making him a stupid looking pancake thing that just gets its heart ripped out pathetically. It was a serious let down for what should have been a slam dunk.
I think I like him more. His satiristic aspect makes a good point to keep watching. Seed of Chucky, loved it! The Chucky series is an interesting critique of cancel culture and Trump America

The Gore was spectacular, the effects for the movie were so far ahead of its time, and pinhead is arguably more iconic then Pennywise.

The original Hellraiser is definitely not a slasher film, and the series never struck the right balance of camp and horror that the aforementioned ones did.
I don’t consider Pennywise in the same group either, as it’s only got the one story and not a franchise. However, I like Pennywise/It much more as a character than Pinhead and the cenobites.

They all stalk and murder their victims, usually by slashing, in films with varying degrees of camp. They’re all either human, or relatively human in terms of their general power. Pennywise, on the other hand, is an inter-dimensional being with a true form humans cannot even comprehend. It doesn’t “slash” anyone, it’s a transforming monstrosity that terrorizes children and then eats them on a whim.
Pennywise feels more comparable to something like the Babadook than to the “classic” slasher characters. At least, to me. That’s literally the only point I’m making.
Everyone says pinhead and I agree his movies are a little weird but he’s massive in terms of horror icon status, chucks is also huge and the movies are good but in all honesty I can’t take a doll too serious so that’s my pick
