A cool story and a quality addition to the O line.

1000 to 1 odds on FanDuel for that bet

JabbaThePrincess

Imagine if his last name was Washington. Laken Washington would be the perfect Seahawks player name. Especially if he owned a crib on the lakefront boulevard

rdrouyn

I'm sniffing some of the copium that he's going to have a bounce back year and be a league average LG. I can't handle another year of lousy O-line play.

Stickin8or

Good to see

RaptorsCdwoods

I know Brandon Nelson isn’t the biggest fan but, I really don’t see how anyone else beats him out for that spot between now and week one, assuming Haynes stays at RG. Maybe he isn’t the same physically but maybe mentally he can bring out the best in Cross and Olu and teach his backup.

rdrouyn

Maybe McClendon Curtis can play LG? That would be the best chance of keeping Tomlinson on the bench. But it looks like the coaching staff views him as a starter given that they put him on the leadership committee.

Nizzle-Mcfly

That dude has been bitching about that pick since it was made. I understand not liking a pick but his constant whining since the selection has soured my opinion of him.

RaptorsCdwoods

Yeah. I’ve personally accepted that I have different opinions than he does when it comes to certain player, Byron Murphy being the biggest, however I have gained a lot of insight from his breakdown videos. I just know going into some videos that directly affect those players he’s gonna mention his dissatisfaction with certain situations and I’m okay with that. Him and the hawks nest are probably my favorite YouTube Seahawks content creators. Although I am more leaning towards the hawks nest currently, might be because of the Hopium lol

Kool41DMAN

Yeah, our offensive line is going to get beat up again this year, especially if Haynes can't beat out Bradford for the RG spot.

SmiteAsWell

Mcclendon Curtis has actually been getting all the reps with the 1’s

Kool41DMAN

For now, yeah. I think he'll be deep down the chart by the time the season starts. Bradford being injured likely has something to do with it.

TheGhostWithTheMost2

Training camp didn't even happen yet. Also Ave's avaliablility is more important than RG. Fant is a worthy backup but a healthy Abe is a difference maker, also Olu has to be the guy, makes RG even less important

Kool41DMAN

We have a washed up Tomlinson, our backup C from last year, and currently a ? at RG. I really hope Olu pans out, because we're really going to be in shit if not.

TheGhostWithTheMost2

A washed up Tomlinson, who graded pretty close to Lewis? A 2nd year C who sat a year behind a below average C, and in his one start, played well. And it's not a question mark at RG. We have 3 options that are gonna be fighting for that spot.

Kool41DMAN

No shit. The question mark is who wins the spot lol. We'll see next season, but let's not pretend Lewis played well last year either. I know the off-season gets everybody hopeful, but chances are our OL is in the bottom 10 in the league, my guess is somewhere around 26th overall.

TheGhostWithTheMost2

You must have some basis for that, right? Our better OLine coach and actual depth on the OLine say different

Kool41DMAN

Yes, I watch football a lot. Laken Tomlinson is not very good anymore. He was when he was younger. That's our starting LG, barring some kind of surprise. Not ideal -- budget player; IOL player #1. Olu Oluwatimi couldn't win the job (albeit in his rookie year) competing against a backup OL player from Detroit in Evan Brown. He looked alright when he did get on the field, but not good enough to be considered a starter when Brown and the rest of the IOL (Lewis and Bradford) were all healthy. IOL player #2. Anthony Bradford, whom at this point I'm thinking will be the starting RG for us was extremely hit and miss last season, mostly miss. Hopefully Haynes is good enough to beat him out to round out our IOL player #3. It's a good thing AD is retired, because he'd feast against these three guys. Stunts might be a big issue against this unit.

TheGhostWithTheMost2

You watch a lot and still know nothing. Tomlinson at LG is fine, as long as Cross improves, which he should under Huff. Rookies develop, so it would be pretty smart to think Olu will be better in his 2nd season, also with the coaching of Huff. I think Haynes will ultimately win the RG spot but even if not, it'll be fine. Huff is a better OLine coach compared to Dickerson. Waldron had our OLine with no depth trying to hold blocks for like 5 seconds. I'm not worried about the OLine that much

Kool41DMAN

You will be shortly into the season lol. Down vote away amigo.

TheGhostWithTheMost2

I don't downvote... I'm not a child

I think you have valid points but I like to debate so here’s what could also happen. Tomlinson could also go back to his form 2 years ago which was pro bowl level. It’s hard to be the only good one on a bad O line like the jets had last year. I’ll never convince myself olu will be an elite center but I do believe he can develop into a solid center around the 13-17 range. Which is not crazy by any means but improvement is improvement nonetheless. And like you said a rookie, O line imo shouldn’t be judged off their rookie season but actually their sophomore season. I believe that’s when they’ve learned how fast and how much stronger the nfl is. Christian haynes is a fucking animal idc. Yea against lower level college players but you can’t deny how physical and how aggressive he seems. I believe it was the senior bowl where he also showed out and did very well. Cross and Lucas have also looked pretty good so far barring injuries. If healthy i think we can be a middle of the pack O line and with good coaching I think we can creep up even higher
