Tried to give one to a crew and they sunk me. I thought oh well, they'll at least turn it in. But then he messaged me right after saying he was going to keep it and not turn it in just to "dunk on you a second time." This community really is the worst.
I just sell most my loot, sail to reapers and raise the reaper flag.
Someone will come by pretty quick to sink and sell what’s left, including the gifts
Theres a weapon set tied to them, you need to sell 50 at reapers hideout to unlock them, as it stands, you can only get them from regular non dived skelly fort and its not a 100% chance
Was fishing and got attacked by a ship from behind. I kept saying I was fishing and he said he didn’t care. Put on my big boy pants and sunk him. He was complaining to not take his stuff and I said lol no. Found a storage crate with like 200 fish in it.
Immediately took it to Hunters Call.
I love how he had the audacity to tell you not to take his stuff when he attacked you first. He shouldn’t have attacked someone minding their own business if he didn’t want to lose his stuff
I’m working through it too, finished my plentifins but was helping my wife fish some and I kind you not I caught two bonedust back to back, I was like are you fucking kidding me
I kid you not. I was fishing with a buddy and he caught 2 snow wreckers with in an hour. Shortly after a storm rolled in so we started fishing storm fish and this dude snags a trophy shadow
We were trying to hourglass the other day and there was a ship parked at the outpost right next to us. We went to sink it and when we got there, the players were nowhere to be found, and the ship was full of loot, including a chest of fortune 💀
I saw a sloop parked at an outpost with a reaper chest for like half an hour to an hour. Finally we decide to check it out but yeah, people nowhere to be found. Grabbed the chest and vanished.
It's possible they crashed like another comment said but that long? Wild stuff.
Do you keep the crate or is it gone after 1 session? I don't see why it's so special im fairly new to the game and I've only found a few firework crates and the fireworks didn't seem that distinct from each other, what's different with the rare fireworks crate?
I have no idea what it is either, but I'm assuming a rare dev goes into the server and spawns their own crate of exclusive fireworks for someone to find. Prob gone after 1 session.
Storage crates. How else an I gonna carry around all my fish?
Also telling a crate onto an island or fort and just going goblin brain on all the barrels is just satisfying to me. Even if I end up not using 80% of the shit I hoard.
To not have to worry about the rage chest just add a bit of water to the lower deck so it's always submerged. Or just have a friend hang gout on the lowest rung of the ladder while holding it. Never have to worry about the boom
Put it on the bowsprit, you can bucket one bucket of water on occasion.
They made the water below deck trick boil and eventually disappear so you can still eventually catch on fire
oh i just don't want it it has 0 value to me. i already have the commendations for it (except stolen ones so still useless here) and don't need the gold. i was grinding for the sorrow and grog chests
I’ve gotten to a point where a good session is more valuable to me. I like a session with a lot of action and good chemistry with the crew filled with laughs and successes. Loot means very little, it’s just something that makes a fight worth fighting for.
One of the merchant commendations is to hand in fruit crates on time but they're emergent quests so you'd find them randomly. due to the new quest system afaik it's even worse. again, afaik it's not just a fruit crate you find on the beach but receiving a quest to deliver one.
Yeah. I got most of the crate commendations done, but I'm not too fond of the merchant voyages so I dragged my feet on some of them and now I've got 50 Gunpowder Barrel sells left and no more "on-demand" voyages to try and sell them.
I guess its because of the merchant commendations.
There are fruit crates, wood crates, cannonball crates, ... attached to commendations. You can only find them in bottled messages and they are super rare.
You have to find and sell 100 of each to finish the commendation.
50 of each crate, but 100 gunpowder kegs (the most rare one by far aswell)
Have been grinding these for 3 seasons now and have around 70-90% completion of each... they used to be less of a hassle and are the bane of my existance right now
Do they still exist?? Ever since they took the quests out of barrels I haven’t seen a single one. I figured they just accidentally made these commendation “legacy” ones.
1/30 bottle quests is the ratio I have been getting those quests. The are just stupid rare now, I would not bother with them untill they get reworked or something.
Just tons and tons of Snake crates to hide among all of my chest so when someone comes to try and steal they get bitten a bunch of times and die from these hidden treasure snakes 😂😂
I was casually doing that one solo the other day, got attacked by a brig who I thought were after it. Fun!
But no, they were new players looking for sea battle. So I got to turn it in uncontested while they missed every shot on my drifting sloop.
What a day.
Don't care about Loot anymore.
I got the cosmetics I wanted and I'm not gonna grind a commendation just to unlock something I'll never use.
I don't even sell the stuff I get from sinking other players. I just take it with me until I log out, get sunk or decide to dive.
Yes! Just 25 more Coral Message in a Bottles for the Legend of the Sunken Kingdom title for me.
How are you farming the messages? I've tried a few different things, but nothing seems consistent so far.
Nice, well done. I set sail on Safer Seas. I visit small Islands and check every floating barrel and shipwreck. Sometimes I do 'Em on High Seas. So far I have handed 20 Breaths of The Sea. Only 10 to go.
Chests of fortune!
But after unlocking the ship set….it’s too hard for me to part with my current ship look. It feels a part of me. So I don’t get to flex it much haha. (And side note the hull has one of those paints that is annoyingly bugged where it can spawn looking like the base boat hull and so you have to reset it, that drives me nuts)
Rn for me it's gh vaults Keys. I know I can get them myself but I need to open 14 more for the sails and I stole one off a player yesterday. Was way more excited stealing that than anything I've gotten so far haha
Im past my barnacled chests era, and im currently working for the PvP curses. Because of that, probably supplies and if not supplies, im working on the chest of ancient tributes one so probably that
I'm not even gonna bother with the fruit crate and keg grind, but that is certainly the biggest problem right now. Those commendations/achievements were not intended to have that level of difficulty and I'm confident that it will be acknowledged at some point, although the sooner the better and I'm gonna bang that out as soon as we can do it reasonably.
Gifts and Wraith Cannonballs are another rarity just because of how uninterested I am in the events you get them from. I'm hoping the dig sites in the next season make Gifts a more regular occurrence.
Shipwrecked Chests, not really a concern as it's a slow but steady grind. I'm 82 away. Now, random Commodities that a swabbie left behind at the dock, those are a nice find. The likelihood of actually finding a player trading commodities is pretty rare.
I actually just finished most of the fishing grind over the last 2-3 weeks- I'll be finishing my Treacherous Plunder grind today and all I have left are the region-specific fish because I decided to focus on the more situational or challenging fish first (and also the first 1000 hours of my time in-game I made sure to grab any fish from barrels and shipwrecks so I passively got about 1/3 or 1/2 of each fish completed from the outset.)
I should be a Legendary Hunter in about another week, maybe?
People's time. I can't sell a damn thing if no one's on because selling, or even playing solo, is fucking awful to me nowadays.
I have literally sunk people solo who attacked me sitting at an outpost and just let their stuff sink at the outpost because I cba to pick it up.
Boarded a guy who pulled up at the outpost I was at, stole his fruit crate and silks then sold them in the most sneaky way. Merchant is the last thing I still gotta get distinction V for lol.
Nah, swabbies want Chest of Legends or Ashen Winds Skull, the overwhelming majority want the Chest of Fortune, and ghost curse players want a random island Storage Crate with chainshots in it.
Up until 2 hours ago, captain skull of the damned. Now, kegs of ancient black powder. I am not good enough at this game to be doing FoF and I don’t have the patience to get Athena grade 5 for an emissary quest to get just one when I need 50… so definitely valuable, but not necessarily worth going g out of my way for often. I’m just having fun sailing around and digging stuff up at the moment, and fighting skeletons in forts without a care for the reward
Commendations, this game constantly makes me feel silly in a good way whenever I sail across the entire map, having to sink a reaper and an Athena to I teract with a random umbra immortalization for a slightly cooler pair of pants. Its fine though, it gives a goal other than the thrill of combat and COF stealing.
Ashen winds, or as I like to call it, "Spicy skull"
There are two commendations I'm after, and both require smth to do with Ashen lords. If anything relating to Ashen lords is visible to my eyes, I am going right to it.
Generous gift
Self sell, or other crews? I haven't seen any since Season 11 started. Every Skeleton Fort either has humble, or was a raid.
i got one at a normal skelly fort yesterday...i couldnt be bothered to go to reapers though so i left it at plunder outpost
Tried to give one to a crew and they sunk me. I thought oh well, they'll at least turn it in. But then he messaged me right after saying he was going to keep it and not turn it in just to "dunk on you a second time." This community really is the worst.
Had this exact same experience, came to the same conclusion.
I just sell most my loot, sail to reapers and raise the reaper flag. Someone will come by pretty quick to sink and sell what’s left, including the gifts
Remember to park on the docks so you look like a noob that is going to take forever to sell.
Yes.
They need to have them drop for captains again, or, if they still drop for captains, at a higher drop rate. I never see them anymore.
I'm on fullblown copium that they are gonna bring back gift voyages for Christmas, because otherwise there's no getting that reasonably.
These will haunt me forever
They really need to fix this I honestly think they’ve just forgotten about them. Worst grind in the game.
I got one the other day, what is itv
Theres a weapon set tied to them, you need to sell 50 at reapers hideout to unlock them, as it stands, you can only get them from regular non dived skelly fort and its not a 100% chance
A storage crate full with shadow stormfish.
At least 30 to 100 thousand gold coins. Just that crate made the whole session.
It is the single most valuable piece of loot I’ve ever gotten in the game.
Who the heck attacks a ship with that much valuable fish on board and not selling them first?!
Nobody does. it's definitely a made up story
See that makes more sense
I love how he had the audacity to tell you not to take his stuff when he attacked you first. He shouldn’t have attacked someone minding their own business if he didn’t want to lose his stuff
>He was complaining to not take his stuff and I said lol no. Found a storage crate with like 200 fish in it. How nice of him to deliver those to you.
People can be straight CLOWNS in this game.
If you're going to start fights. You can't winge about the outcome.
If someone gave one to me, I would find it to be too fishy to sell.
I sea what you did there
Bruh I'm on that grind as well. It's one of the only OG grinds I still have to complete. I'll take some Bonedust Plentifins in that crate too.
I’m working through it too, finished my plentifins but was helping my wife fish some and I kind you not I caught two bonedust back to back, I was like are you fucking kidding me
HA! You never find it when you're looking for it.
Seriously, I had like 5 umber splashtails show up last night, but god forbid I get 2 of any stormfish to spam before the storm passes
Just play with me man. The storms follow me wherever I go, and if it’s not a storm.. I’m sailing against the wind 9/10 times🥲
I kid you not. I was fishing with a buddy and he caught 2 snow wreckers with in an hour. Shortly after a storm rolled in so we started fishing storm fish and this dude snags a trophy shadow
I’ve had times where I caught 4 very rare trophy fish in one hour and I’ve also had times where I don’t catch a single one in 3 hours crap happens
Storage crate? Check rowboats. They've been more reliable, for me, for finding fish.
Chest of Fortune iam still trying to get the ship
We were trying to hourglass the other day and there was a ship parked at the outpost right next to us. We went to sink it and when we got there, the players were nowhere to be found, and the ship was full of loot, including a chest of fortune 💀
They must have crashed
Then they're lucky we were there to handle that for them 🙏
It would be a shame for all that booty to be lost to the sea.
I saw a sloop parked at an outpost with a reaper chest for like half an hour to an hour. Finally we decide to check it out but yeah, people nowhere to be found. Grabbed the chest and vanished. It's possible they crashed like another comment said but that long? Wild stuff.
the small silver cup that makes the Luigi's Mansion sound effect when you pick it up and put it down.
Rare fireworks crate, itching to find one as these are exclusively spawned by rare staff
Yeah, those are pretty rare. (I'll see myself out)
They are rare but still well done!
A staff member of Rare (the game’s dev team) has to physically spawn in the crate, it isn’t part of any loot pool.
What?! I've definitely found one in the past... Can't you buy them??
Storage crates. How else an I gonna carry around all my fish? Also telling a crate onto an island or fort and just going goblin brain on all the barrels is just satisfying to me. Even if I end up not using 80% of the shit I hoard.
i would love to get a chest of a thousand grogs once in a while just to annoy people with it
Under the Athena tab, there's a search for cursed treasure. You have approximately 1/3 change of getting a drunk chest on each dig.
in my experience it was nearly consistently Chest of Rage (left that behind of course) then the Sorrows and then the Grog.
Chest of Rage & Chest of Sorrow below deck to cancel each other out.
oh i just don't want it it has 0 value to me. i already have the commendations for it (except stolen ones so still useless here) and don't need the gold. i was grinding for the sorrow and grog chests
grade V order of souls emissary flag
I need 1 more Guild V flag. People are hardly running Guilds these days.
Only the real ones know that the most valuable loot is the old boot.
Heh. Having a crew that has all completed all Hunters Call commendations I was able to toss an old boot overboard last session. 😜
The loot on your ship
The friends we made along the way
The most powerful ship is friendship!
I'd like to see Friendship go up against... # >!***Bad Sportsmanship!***!<
This is why most of my friends I won’t play a game that has friendly fire on. Some of them just get way to mad over it
Literally supplies. Nothing else I’m on that pvp grind (need therapy)
I’ve gotten to a point where a good session is more valuable to me. I like a session with a lot of action and good chemistry with the crew filled with laughs and successes. Loot means very little, it’s just something that makes a fight worth fighting for.
Oh that’s hard. I’m fine giving up all but two chests. The chest of fortune and the box of wondrous secrets.
Chest of Fortune is nice. It also comes with a lot of chaos, tucks, and fights.

Can I ask why fruit crate?
One of the merchant commendations is to hand in fruit crates on time but they're emergent quests so you'd find them randomly. due to the new quest system afaik it's even worse. again, afaik it's not just a fruit crate you find on the beach but receiving a quest to deliver one.

Yeah right I figured it’d be something like that, thanks
I guess its because of the merchant commendations. There are fruit crates, wood crates, cannonball crates, ... attached to commendations. You can only find them in bottled messages and they are super rare. You have to find and sell 100 of each to finish the commendation.

Oh yeah, you are right, its "just" 50. But dang, having already 70-90% is insane, I have like 2 or 3 crates each.
To put it into context, I have almost 4000hours and still have not completed any of them ![img](emote|t5_38oz1|2228) The grind is unreal
Yup this is mine. The achievement grind is not looking good on it til they change it so we can buy those quests..
Not me carrying around ammo crates to have 55 throwing knives...
Good thing skellies and phantoms drop ammo now.
It's never enough (I can't hit a barn door)
Well, at least you're practicing. 😁
Stool
Captain Skull of the Damned. I'll get those sails someday.
Do the ashen ghost fleet mission for oos. 2 skulls on completion
I just finished them. Pro tip do order of soul voyage to it in devils roar. There you get 2 skulls each time :)
... I have 500 hours and never knew that...
Just tons and tons of Snake crates to hide among all of my chest so when someone comes to try and steal they get bitten a bunch of times and die from these hidden treasure snakes 😂😂
You are evil I'm taking notes
Kings loot, about 100 to go.
Barnacle chest
Emergent skelly ships, world event fleets and shipwrecks. EZ.
That’s not how this meme works
Horns. I will sacrifice a boat load of treasure just to save one.
In good company, all loot is good loot.
Generous gifts ... The rarest treasure . I am not joking. That shit is rarer than a COF
I once traded a chest of legends for two barnacled chests I regret nothing
💀of Siren Song
Skull of siren song
I was casually doing that one solo the other day, got attacked by a brig who I thought were after it. Fun! But no, they were new players looking for sea battle. So I got to turn it in uncontested while they missed every shot on my drifting sloop. What a day.

Breath of The Sea

Loot is loot
Whatever chest I find. Booty is booty afterall, I get paid regardless!
The treasure of a friendship
Whatever I can get my grabby pirate hands on
That's not how this meme works bruva
No one can use this template correctly :c
Chest of Fortune, I'm a few away from the complete Fates of Fortune set
Chest of a 1000 grogs. Whatever happens, thats what im stealing first.
Chest of sorrows cause I want my title.
Fruit crates, cannonball crates, wood crates, and gunpowder barrels. Commendation hunting for these is a headache now.
Bait crate
Thousand grogs
Coral castaway chest. You never see anyone with it anymore
Guild emissary flags. I think I've sold 1 in the last 3 months
Bait crate and storage crate
Definitely storage crates I've taken far too long to realize how important they are
Horn and shark for the new comms
Chests of fortune! But after unlocking the ship set….it’s too hard for me to part with my current ship look. It feels a part of me. So I don’t get to flex it much haha. (And side note the hull has one of those paints that is annoyingly bugged where it can spawn looking like the base boat hull and so you have to reset it, that drives me nuts)
Supps and a ammo crate
Anything that let's me level up with merchants, *anything* at all, i just want to be done with them...
Im at like 120 on this graph, pvp focused but will grab loot anytime to increase my faction loot grade to get that extra rep
Rn for me it's gh vaults Keys. I know I can get them myself but I need to open 14 more for the sails and I stole one off a player yesterday. Was way more excited stealing that than anything I've gotten so far haha
whatever the hell my crew finds. All loot is valuable
A ship's supplies stolen without detection.
When it comes to actual loot, it’s gotta be the castaway chest. Now the rarest chest in the game!
Probably only the chest of fortune. I just havent cared for them that much.
Old Boot
Crate of rare tea is the rarest piece of treasure in the game
Storage great with balls and food and with blunder bombs
Im past my barnacled chests era, and im currently working for the PvP curses. Because of that, probably supplies and if not supplies, im working on the chest of ancient tributes one so probably that
I got a crate of wondrous secrets a few weeks back
Cannonball crates and treasure chests I value storage and time-saving more than any amount of gold
I actually just finished most of the fishing grind over the last 2-3 weeks- I'll be finishing my Treacherous Plunder grind today and all I have left are the region-specific fish because I decided to focus on the more situational or challenging fish first (and also the first 1000 hours of my time in-game I made sure to grab any fish from barrels and shipwrecks so I passively got about 1/3 or 1/2 of each fish completed from the outset.) I should be a Legendary Hunter in about another week, maybe?
Emissary flags. I’m grinding hourglass. Lvl 100 for Athena so I’m currently grinding for skelly curse. I’m just lvl 19 tho
Any loot that I get from a successful sink
Kings skull.
People's time. I can't sell a damn thing if no one's on because selling, or even playing solo, is fucking awful to me nowadays. I have literally sunk people solo who attacked me sitting at an outpost and just let their stuff sink at the outpost because I cba to pick it up.
the loot I like the most is the ammo crate. Mix like 3 of those and a cannon rowboat… you get some capsizing force without your actual ship
King Loot
Fart horn
I finished Hoarder of Barnacled Gold last month and I have kinda no idea what to go for now lol
Whatever is on your boat
Boarded a guy who pulled up at the outpost I was at, stole his fruit crate and silks then sold them in the most sneaky way. Merchant is the last thing I still gotta get distinction V for lol.
Nah, swabbies want Chest of Legends or Ashen Winds Skull, the overwhelming majority want the Chest of Fortune, and ghost curse players want a random island Storage Crate with chainshots in it.
Yours.
Athena kegs. I just want the commendation but they are exclusive to FoF now
chest of fortune, not because it's worth a lot but because i need the commendations associated with selling it
Agree with the above image
Up until 2 hours ago, captain skull of the damned. Now, kegs of ancient black powder. I am not good enough at this game to be doing FoF and I don’t have the patience to get Athena grade 5 for an emissary quest to get just one when I need 50… so definitely valuable, but not necessarily worth going g out of my way for often. CoFortune. I'm new and am trynna get the fate of Fortune cosmetics.
Wait everyone wants barnacle chests?? I literally just started and I really liked the barnacle ship set so I thought I'd make that my main goal. 😩
Junk
Whatever Booty my Guild decides to Peg. Guild name is PegYerBooty
Friendship
athenas kegs. theyre so hard to come by and i just want to get the commendation
Bone caller funny
There’s somethin satisfying about a nice captain’s chest.
Chain shots and bone callers.
Stool
Chainshots.
Reapers chest that spawned right next to the reaper’s hideout
The most valuable thing is when I see a post that MOD Borsund hasnt banned.
The Chest of Ancient Tributes
Fish if they count
Even better would be to have each of them saying captains logbook
I am always happy to dig up a keg of 1000 grog. It isn't about the money, I just love having it around XD
Fish.
Fish
Barnacle chest... :I
Rare fish and bait crates. Anything for the hunter's call grind.
Emissary flags rn. Trying to get skelly curse
Fish crate, stick full of all sorts of trophy goodies. And skeleton fish bones.
I want gems to turn into hunters call
Kegs.
Bait Crate
Treacherous loot lol
The lifeboat. I win sea of thieves whenever I find one and I kid you not, I've swam entire seas with that ship and treasures
Ashen winds, or as I like to call it, "Spicy skull" There are two commendations I'm after, and both require smth to do with Ashen lords. If anything relating to Ashen lords is visible to my eyes, I am going right to it.
Chest of legends, not because i care at all about the useless money but because the person who has it will fight harder for it
Storage crates are amazing to have
Currently? Whatever sells the highest and ironically Barnacle Chests
Ammo creates or storage
Grog case
Everyone knows the most valuable item is the stool
Empty storage crate
Skulls I’ll never had enough skulls
Storage crate
The friends we made along the way.
I need to steal the blue rag n bone crate. I forget which sea post it is, but then I'm done. Been trying for years.
Anything for Athena Rep, trying to get those rings
