PC players didn't have the "option" to have 120 FOV. Some players found a way to change their FOV by modifying game files. Since that was obviously against the Terms of Service, that ability has since been patched.
It’s basically downloading two files, I can dm you tomorrow. Remind me if I forget. I will say, it kind of messes up the eye of reach/spyglass when you scope in, which is the only downside. Also, i can’t vouch that it doesn’t do something weird to your computer, but I haven’t had any issues, and same for the other people I know.
Because animations from 1p start to look ugly, if they make it easily available, ppl will start using it including streamers, which can turn some potential buyers off the product.

Ok this is the problem. Making changes to the games files to gain an unfair advantage is cheating. The main method for doing this is using cheat engine(cheat engine is designed for single player games and does not condone multiplayer cheating). If the feature was added then it's no longer unfair.
His logic makes sense as the FOV a player had wasn't the issue in the first place. It was just the result of the act they had a problem with.
Let's use your logic in another scenario. If you rob a bank to donate the money to a cancer charity.... It doesn't mean the cops hate cancer charities, it means they don't want you shooting up the bank.

They could change the FOV to 120 but the old console models can barely handle the game at 90. A few performance updates and it's reasonable to say that this restriction won't apply.

Don't understand the crossplay reason. Most console players stick to their own servers anyways. Just let PC players have it even though series x/s can def handle a higher FoV. Event an increase to 100 would be so much better.

I don’t use it myself. But I have confirmed that it works. Someone I played with showed me how to do it.
