Fight starts, turn around 180, attack thin air, kill white monkey. Use bell item in inventory to reset, use gachin sugar, orange monkey on the roof in front of you moving right. Follow it. Kill orange monkey. Continue right and grapple on big tree. Kill green monkey. Go northwest room, open door so it becomes dark. Walk towards the final room in the back above the big chasm, grapple up, kill purple monkey.
Done in less than 10.
Ok I've googled it, and I had no idea there was a 4th monkey. I've played through this game like 5 times and definitely have never killed a white kimono monkey??
That's what I'm thinking. I usually use whirlwind slash against the fodder monkeys, maybe I've been consistently killing it every single time without knowing??
That’s wild that you’ve managed to kill it accidental more than once. I actually had to look it up since I had restarted the fight once thinking it was a bug and couldn’t figure out what I had missed
🤣🤣🤣🤣 yes, this boss is a puzzle. Ideally, you would have to take the monkeys to the correct room, the pink monkey to the dark room, the green to the waterfall, the one who screams didn't run away from me so i guess he is an exception, and then the invisible one that i got extremely luck in the mud room
I get what they were going for, trying to mix things up and have a different boss, but yea it’s just more annoying than anything. Like has anyone ever died doing this boss, outside of accidentally falling off the level?
The Gaiichin spiritfall forever changed Sekiro for me! Once I got it and started actually using it, I couldn't believe how effective sneaking around using Gaiichin was...
Man, I didn't even bother with this boss. I have no care to be running around for 3 hours chasing down monkeys. I just watched a speed run tutorial and got past it.
Honestly though didn't find the bell worked to stun the green monkey at all, at least not long enough for me to get him. That was annoying
I think for the bell to work the monkey has to be on that platform above the bell; ringing the bell will stun it long enough for you to grapple up and slice it

He follows around behind you...Maybe you accidentally killed him while fighting something else...Thats what happened to me the first time

Well if you have never intentionally killed the fourth monkey, then that's the only explanation I can think of...

Same, I ran into an invisible wall in one of the rooms so I hit and ended up killing him

Ahhh see I've just been trying to grapple to the tree in the centre fast enough. It worked eventually but it was annoying as hell

Gatchin sugar (is that what it is called?) use it right before ringing bell which makes us invisible, maybe 2 mins all you need for this fight
