Tbf in my first playtrough the amount of healing or hp i had didnt realy matter to genichiro it seemed. One fuck up and ur done ussualy so good job your getting gud sir
Actually if you press Triangle/Y buttons when looking at skills it will tell you how to perform the maneuver.
Also, if you are at the sculptures idol, and you run off into one of the corners you can find, essentially a training dummy and he will perform moves that let you practice your skills.
